Just wanted to do a quick write up, I was lucky enough to be out West for a short time, even luckier that I was able to visit the parks on Halloween. What a fun time to visit. We were able to get some tickets to Mickey's Trick or Treat Party too. We arrived at DL, I want to say between 2 or 2:30, looked around Main St. a bit, there were some characters out in their Halloween gear, Goofy, I didn't get him and also Chip and Dale, I was able to meet them. We then made our way down to Pixie Hollow, I knew I just had to meet Tinkerbell as she is a long time favorite. The line wasn't bad at all, we didn't wait more then an hour and Tink and the Fairies are wonderful, you will love this area. Then we walked around a little, headed over to HM, one of our favorites and wanted to check out The Nightmare Before Christmas part of it, the line was pretty long so we grabbed fast passes and went and ate at Cafe Orleans, very good, we had some gumbo and the monte cristo, they were wonderful!!! As we were sitting outside at Cafe Orleans, the weather was beautiful, we saw all this excitement, well don't you know Jack and Sally walk by, I was like, are they real or is that just people in costumes?? I had never heard of Jack and Sally doing meet and greets. After we were done eating we headed back over to HM to use our fast passes, well it was closed, some problems so I asked the guy about Jack and Sally and he said they were doing meet and greets, so I found me a time and a place and it was close so I went to wait in the line and to my surprise there were already people in line. Jack and Sally were excellant, I loved them and was just so excited that I was able to meet them. I do not know how rare they are or if they will continue to be out or if that was just for Halloween, but it was a neat experience. After this we headed back to HM and it was still closed but they said it should be open shortly so we headed down to POTC, a day at Disney without POTC just isn't complete, no line so we hopped on that, walked around a little while longer, New Orleans Square was decorated for Christmas already, well some of it, so that was very neat, it was like two Holiday's in one. Headed back over to HM and it was open and we were still able to use our earlier fastpasses so we did. It is so awesome at the movie, I loved it and was so glad to see it.
We then headed over to CA since it was almost time for the party to start, this was a real mess since the gates had not opened yet. But once inside people started to move and it was better. They were having a dance party right inside and it was neat, they played really great music too. We headed down toward Playhouse Disney and I stopped to meet Handy Mandy. There were other characters too along the way. Then we went and got on TOT with no line, wow, it was so wild riding TOT while it was dark, it just added something to the experience. Crazy. We tried to trick or treat but the line for the candy was so awful, I was amazed, the were the longest lines. We then headed back towards CS and walked on. Then I thought ok, well maybe we will have luck with TSM, no such luck, at first it looked like the line was short but once you get in line, you realize how long it is, we were tired since we had just flown across the country that day, plus CS shook us both up a little. So we decided not to wait in line for TSM, I am sure we will ride it someday. We then headed to DTD, did a little shopping, stopped at Rainforest Cafe for some nancho's and then headed back up to LA for our meeting on Saturday. All in all, it was a very fun and enjoyable day, an escape from reality. I love Disney.:goodvibes

Thank you for sharing your story. It sounds like you had an awesome time, and Welcome back! :)
The nachos sound tasty. he he!
That is nothing short of amazing that after a cross country flight, you had the stamina and energy to visit the park, on the same day. I think I would have needed a nap. ;)

I'm glad you had so much fun!! And very envious of you meeting Jack & Sally, I would just love that!! :)

Just a quick fyi, on your next trip, even though your FP has a return window of 1 hr you are able to use them after the hour has passed. We use ours late all the time, spend the day grabbing FP's and then riding them all at night. :)

I had to LOL at this. By the time we returned back up to LA, usually it is a quick trip, well the 101 was bumper to bumper, I had been up for 24hrs., I was having trouble staying awake at the Rainforest Cafe, but I figure I might as well do this kind of stuff well I still can, I know in a few years, it will be too much. :goodvibes

Meeting Jack and Sally was amazing!!! Thank you for the FYI about the fast passes, I was just happy we were still able to use them since the ride had been shut down. It all worked out.:goodvibes
