If we have 4 kids, but two of them are under 3, can we still book a 1 BR? The info I find says all sleep 4 and most sleep 5. Is that they sleep 5 plus 1 in a pack 'n play? Would we be able to stay in a 1 BR until the youngest turns 3 and we are a full 6 or would we need a 2 BR sooner? We are planning our first trip as DVC members and I don't want to plan for a 1 BR and then be told we need a 2 BR. Thanks for any info!!

Even if you have seven under the age of three, only one will not count toward occupancy and all the rest will. So in your case, you are family of five plus one, until the youngest turns three. Then you will definitely need a two bedroom.

AKV, BLT and OKW are the only DVC resorts that have one bedrooms with sleeping spaces for five. The other one bedrooms only have sleeping spaces for four, but they will allow you the fifth person. They will not provide extra bedding, towels, etc for that extra person.

we were just there in july. family of 5- my 2 teens slept on the sofa bed- at first they were adamant about not wanting to- but they were VERY comfortable. Me and dh slept in the king with my other son. saved our points so we can go again in October!:cool1:

You can do a 1 BR for the ones with an official capacity of 5 (AKV, BLT) but otherwise it's technically a 2 BR.

As the question has been answered, and we limit DVC occupancy discussions to the DVC Occupancy thread, I'm going to close this thread and ask you to follow the link if you wish to continue discussing the subject.

Thanks.
