This will be our first couples vacation since our kids were born with the exception of a weekend in the mountains. Our kids are 12 and 14 so this is an exciting trip for us. We haven't stayed at the WLV's but we have stayed at the WL several times, my husband is voting for the one bedroom at the WLV because of the jacuzzi tub. Would anyone recommend another resort with concierge over the WLV i bedroom and if so why.

THANKS

DH and I always stay in a one-bedroom villa at the BWV's when we go on couples trips. We like the extra space, that it has a king bed (without having to request and hope for one) and the jacuzzi. We also like to workout each morning and like that we can just toss our workout clothes in the washer. We'd rather have these amenities than concierge service. I'm sure many will disagree.

You could always try and book a concierge honeymoon room at the WL; I think they have jacuzzi tubs.

I think I agree. BWV's is our home resort and we almost always stay there. DH thinks the WLV may be a little more romantic. But with staying at the WL we have to say bye-bye to the close proximity to alot of good dining options. And it has been a long time since we've stayed in a regular room. When the kids and I go we tend to get a studio. The hubby likes the extra space and the tub.

The 1 bedroom has two advantages over conceirge that haven't been mentiioned yet -

* Washer/Dryer in the unit. You won't have to pack as much.

* No daily maid service. No worries about sleeping in or having to be out of the room so housekeeping can do their thing. I thought I'd miss daily maid service, but turns out I really love it! Sometimes, there's just nothing like an afternoon nap ;) ;)

Best wishes -

I love staying in one bedroom villas. While BWV and BCV have more dining options within walking distance, WL is beautiful and peaceful.

In my opinion, the extra space, full kitchen and whirlpool bath more than compensate for lack of concierge services.

WL is also a boat ride away from MK - and you can always resort hop on the monorail between Polynesian, GF and CR. What fun you will have!

Last month we spent 8 nights in a 1 BR at VWL. It was WONDERFUL and huge!! Of course, we went there right after a 7 night DCL cruise, so the room(s) seemed enormous!! The washer/dryer was a big plus since there were 4 of us in the room. The kitchen was great for quick snacks and eating dinner in the room a few times. I would definitely vote for VWL. Have a great time, no matter where you stay.

The deciding factor may be your travel dates. VWL is the smallest DVC resort and may already be booked for the dates you want.

I enjoy the 'freedom' of a VWL 1 BR. I am referring to (as mentioned above) the freedom of no daily maid service (unless you book through CRO). The freedom to eat a meal in the room and not have to go out to eat every meal.
Plus, that jacuzzi is pretty cool, as is the king size bed.

Just have to chuckle at people's preferences. We always book villas through CRO because we want maid service!! Don't know what DH would do if we didn't have clean towels, trash service, bed made, etc. every day. For us, that is freedom, but to each his own. I've looked into renting DVC points, but when I add up the fact that weekends take alot (and I mean alot) of points and we always stay two full weekends, the fact that we have to add in $40 or so per day for maid service, the risk factor in renting points and the inflexibility once you've rented the points, it just seems easier to book through CRO and be done with it.

I understand what you mean lyncruiser, about the plusses of the daily housekeeping service. But after staying at VWL on points I got to really appreciate no one coming into my room. I never have to wonder what time they will come, and wonder if they go through our 'stuff' (paranoid, I know). Don't have to hide anything.

And the fact that there is a washer and dryer in the room helps with the towel issue. Making the bed is another issue, but I would feel funny calling and asking someone to just come and make my bed! I actually enjoy 'nesting' at VWL. I know it is a vacation, but the fact that it is a little like home is comforting to me. Sick, I know! ::yes::

WDW seems to be the only place we ever go that we DON'T stay at a place like the VWL. When my DH can actually drag me to somewhere other than WDW (kicking and screaming all the way) we always find lovely Time-share type places or at least suites with conceirge. We are booked in couple of weeks for WL (my fav!) and we had a last minute add on- my 20 year old niece who has never been to WDW. (Can you believe it? I don't think we are related!!!!! ) I called to have her added but they don't have any upgrades to the Deluxe Rooms available with our package. We are considering the Villas now but we may wait until we get there. Any thoughts?
I have this feeling though once we go Villas we will never go back. My DH LOVES the whole idea of the Villas but I like the daily maid service, etc and I really like the Concerige Level.
So we have a toss up in our household!!!!
