we will be staying at a 1 bedroom at the boardwalk villa later this week. We've always stayed in a studio before. Is there a washer/dryer in the 1 bedroom unit?

Yes....you will have a stacked washer/dryer unit.......

Have a nice stay......

beware if you haven't stayed in a 1 bdr before you may not want to return to a studio again!

FYI - All DVC units have a W&D in the one bedroom or larger units.

I don't think any of the washers in the villas have been replaced with High Efficiency washers. But some of the common laundry room washers in the villas (to be used by studio guests) have been.

OKW is the only villa that has side by side washer and dryer. All the rest are stacked.

Keep in mind there's only a small box of detergent waiting for you. You can buy more there, or bring your own, but if you're doing more than 1-2 loads you'll need more. Can't remember how much it was to purchase the individual load size boxes there, but think it was as reasonably priced as anything else you'll be buying on your trip :lmao:

That being said, having a w/d in your room is so nice, you can pack less, and it's great to be able to do laundry on your terms (ie not have to haul it all down to the common laundry area at your resort and sit there or nearby while it's going).

Have a great trip !

Chris

My tip of the day...

Do small loads and expect them to take forever to dry.

But it's better than nothing :lmao:

Do the 2 BRs have regular side by side units, or is the the GVs only??

The two bedrooms that I have stayed in have stackable units. Can't speak for the GVs. Never had the pleasure of staying in one.

only OKW has the regular side by side units - and it has for all the 1-bedrooms and up.

all others have the stackable.

OKW has a laundry room - the others have a closet.

to the op - wash that night before you go to bed - early the next morning put them in the dryer and then go to the parks. when you get back they will be dry.
