1-800-GOT-JUNK--pricing?

If you have used this company or have ever gotten a quote, can you let me know a ball park if what they charged for what they hauled? We envision the equivalent of 2-3 bedrooms of furniture, boxes and electronics will be taken by them as we are moving to a smaller home back in Florida.

Logistics do not support us doing this as a DIY or calling various charities who may or may not be interested in items. I'm just curious of what to expect cost wise.If you know if an alternate company that offers the same type of service and is less expensive, I would love the referral.

TIA

We knocked a $500 haul off quote down to $30 by listing items for free on Craigslist. You'd be amazed how fast something will go when you're giving it away.

It will likely be around $500. We had to do this recently when our renters in our Florida property decided to ditch out on their lease and leave behind tons of junk. We filled a truck with about the amount of stuff you described and it was a little over $500.

I was not thrilled with the cost, but we live in NC, and the cost to travel down there and deal with it myself would have about that much. We also wanted to get it done as quickly as possible so we could deal with the rest of the issues the renters left behind and get new people in as soon as possible.

It would certainly be easier and more cost effective to go the donation/craiglist route, but no everyone has the time or ability.

Exactly. We don't live on a very busy street, but just about anytime I put something on the curb with a free sign it disappears fast.

Like I posted, tried that with my moms stuff, no luck. And tried it the past 2 weeks with some kitchen cabinets, put the notice on craigslist with photos, and free, all I got was three neighbors knocking on my door offering the use of the pickups to take it to the dump:confused3
So yesterday I loaded them up in my Suburban and paid $10 to drop them off at the dump.
