1-800 dinning # please? anyone?

Also 1-800-711-4344. I believe this number is just for dining and the other number is the main WDW reservation number.

I tried calling the 4344# and althought it says it's for dining it kicks me to Grand Gatherings. I can't find a working 800# for the live of me :)

That's because...as posted here many times before...these toll-free numbers are not for the general public to use. They are for travel professionals and other parties Disney specifies.

Overuse of the numbers by 'regular' folk ends up shutting them down.

Excuse me if I touched on something that has been brought up before. I did do a search, but as I'm sure you know the Dis search doesn't always bring up exactly what you're looking for. I'm also not on the boards all too often so I haven't seen this conversation before. If I had I wouldn't have brought it up.

Having been a travel agent, we had never used 800 #'s for Disney. I had thought I had read there was now a dedicated Dining line but obviously I'm mistaken.

They weren't "ugh"ing you :)
This question often prompts heated debates about whether it is or is not ok to use the toll free numbers when you are not a travel agent.
There is a number for the general public to use to make reservations, but it is not toll free. 1-407-939-3463
And then there are toll free numbers that are supposed to be for travel agents to use, however, often the numbers leak. Apparently, once disney dining begins being saturated with people using it, they change numbers and it starts again.
I hope that explanation made sense :)

Thanks for explaining :)

Nothing personal, it's just a topic that comes up a few times a week and it's always the same debate.

Once the number is leaked, the number is changed shortly thereafter.

I WISH Disney had an 800# for the general public. They don't because they don't need one, but it can't keep me from wishing can it? :goodvibes

We don't have long distance at home. This is what I did....

Dial 1-800-GOOG-411. This is Google's free 411 service that connects you to any business. It works for local businesses but you can also call nonlocal businesses and it is like having free long distance since you are transferred through their 800 number. At the prompts, say Orlando, FL and then say Disney World or Disney World "resort name". Once you get connected, ask to be transferred to make a dining reservation.

I had to do this earlier since we use our cell phones for our long distance, but the reception is terrible in our house. I know the lady at the Pop was wondering why I didn't call dining directly, but she transferred me anyway. It's a nice little workaround.

That's a nifty number to know regardless! Thanks for the tip. Can I patent your answer (giving you credit of course) when this topic comes up again?
