I've often seen barracuda while snorkeling (in Cayman Islands and Hawaii), they've always left us alone

Ladies and Gentelmen, please leave your jewelry (rings - even the wedding ring, and necklaces) locked up in your room safe when you are going snorkeling. My understanding is that barracuda are attracted to the "glittering" light that reflects off of jewelery and thats when they come out to investigate - teeth first!

Would you believe that my husband left his Cardinal hat at home? Things got a little chaotic as we were getting ready to leave, and he left the hat sitting on the sofa. Then, when we got on the ship, I suffered severely at the hands of the rough seas. Fortunately, my aunt had some of those "miracle" patches that she shared with my husband and myself. By the third day, we were like new. However, I did miss the Dis"meet". I believe I was probably taking one of my many naps that day. I hated feeling bad. When I get some extra time, I'm going to write a trip report. We had an absolutely fabulous trip. I hope you did as well.

We didn't make it to the Dis"meet" either. We had to leave home a week early--- before a time and place were set. After hanging out in Diversions for the football games (even the Rams had a good game that Sat.!), I bet it would be fun to go during baseball season. We really liked Diversions.

Sorry to hear you suffered with the rough seas. It didn't bother me at all. In fact, playing in the adult pool was pretty neat with the huge waves that were made in it. Several people said it was the roughest cruise they'ld been on. I'm sure glad we went last week and not this week! At least we got to all our ports! After a couple days on the ship, I'm ready to get off for awhile.

I just read a live report from the ship that said they didn't get to dock at Castaway Cay today due to the currents. The captain made two failed attemepts. I wonder if we were close to the same situation last week? It couldn't have been much windier or rougher. After I got over the sea sickness, I actually enjoyed the rocking motion. It did seem to stir up the septic system though. We had several evenings of pure stench in our stateroom. We just shrugged it off as part of the experience. What a fabulous vacation. We've had more trouble, post cruise, with tiredness and swaying. It is finally starting to subside.

Fortunately we didn't get any of the stench. But by the 3rd day, we had a constant metalic clanging coming from somewhere outside. Kept me awake one night, but I guess I got use to it by the next night. We weren't in a room considered noisy, so I wonder what it was. Did anyone else hear it? We were in room 2550.

From personal experience, I can tell you that the stench began at the "forward" elevator area and progressively got worse. It's so funny though. We were in room 2524 and our other family members were in rooms 2574 and 2576. Therefore, we were constantly walking by your room. Our stateroom was something of an enigma. First of all, we had the odor. Next, we were directly, and I mean directly over the forward cargo door where the crew liked to visit every night around 11:30 and bang on something for about 15 minutes. When we would pull into ports in the wee hours of the morning, the noise was just incredible and included forklifts. Not that this wasn't enough, we were centrally located directly below the disco. Every night at 12:30 they rearranged the tables for the following day. Did I mention that our room rocked and swayed about 50% more than my mom's room which was located more centrally. Our porthole was also smaller. As I write this, I can't help but smile. It wasn't always funny during the cruise, but we made the best of it. Our family got a real kick out of making fun of our predicament. I would venture to say that we had one of the very noisiest staterooms on the ship. Oh, one more thing, when we were lying in bed at night, it sounded like the whole starboard side was about to detach itself.
It concerned my 6 year old son to the point that he would stick his head out the door before going to bed to make sure people weren't evacuating the ships with their life jackets on. I guess he's seen Titanic one too many times. Did I mention we had the time of our lives and are ready to rebook today? We're thinking about the 7day Western May 20, 2006 or the special cruise on May 27, 2006. Just trying to justify the cost difference right now.

Whew, I'm tired. I'd better stop for now.

Was anyone near the Mickey pool when they frantically evacuated the pool? The lifeguards were blowing their whistles and screaming at the kids to get out of the pool!

What could it be, we worriedly asked ourselves, the waves were calm and no one seemed to be in trouble! no shark, no barracuda!

But what was it? What was in the pool?








AHHHHHHGGGGGGGG AN Escaped "BABY POOP"

Yep they closed the pool and decontaminated it with great urgency and alarm!!

We saw the Mickey pool evacuation and the yellow suited guys roping it off. However, I can also say that I'm the proud mother of a 10 year old DD who got choked on pool water, threw up and closed down the Goofy pool during our day at St. Maarten. The whole thing had to be drained and refilled.

Penny, Are the special cruises(2 days in CC) almost double the price?

I think the ultimate would be 2 days in CC overnight! The ship doesn't leave!

Roughly, each adult and chld is about $450 more for my family. The price per extra person/child looks to be the big difference maker in the price. but it's not close to double.

Apparently the reason the ship DOES leave it there are some vicious bugs on CC that come out at night! That is the reason they are outta there before nightfall. OR at least, that is what I have read here on the board....

Maybe this is a dumb question... but did they actually have to dock again, couldn't they have sent a tender?

I hope that poor person has medical insurance.

We were fully docked. The ambulance drove right down the long dock and picked the lady up. We made it back to some "specific" point with four minutes to spare, in order to have our fireworks show for pirate night. This was announced during our debarkation seminar.
