We are going on a long trip to WDW this summer. We have a bunch on non-park days build in for rest, and to see the rest of WDW besides just the parks. So even though we are going for 13 nights and 14 days, not every day is a park day.

So, to that end, would you plan 1 full day each in both AK and HS, then a half day in each? Or would you do just one day in AK, and then 2 days in HS?

We will have LL (what what little it might do) and plan to use ILL (because my family are babies and hate lines).

At AK we will want to hit all of the major rides, and probably the only show would be Festival of the Lion King.
At HS we would want to do all of the major rides and maybe none of the shows outside of Fantasmic if it is back by then. However, from what I have read, lines at HS can be a nightmare.

If you say we should do both for the extra half day, do you think do the reservation for AK first then plan to park hop to HS?

You're going for 14 days and you're only going to do "major rides," not everything?

My kids are older so we do not tend to do the young ones. I also generally do not have patience for the singalong shows that only perform movies I've already seen anyway. So normally that means we skip on almost all of the shows at Hollywood studios, which pretty much just leaves the rides.

The biggest reason we are going for so many days is because my husband wanted just about one day out of the park for every day that he's in a park lol. So that means a couple of resort days, a Disney Springs day, a couple of water park days.

We go for 9-10 days and break our days up into half days. When it’s all added up we do 2 days at DHS and 1.5-2 days at AK. We go every 2-3ish years so it’s important for us to do as much as we can.

We had an extra park day that we were going to end up throwing away. We had to get the 10 park days in order to have tickets to use within our 14 day window. We decided to do 2 full days at Hollywood studios since their lines are so tremendous right now. And then one full day at AK and then do rope drop the next morning before enjoying an afternoon and evening at Disney Springs.
