Welcome Home

Woke up around 6:00, took my shower, then got everyone else awake. By the time we had all got moving around, dressed and brushed our teeth it was a few minutes before 6:45. Since we had first seating, we were scheduled for 6:45 to eat. We were to eat in the same restaurant that we had eaten in the night before, Lumiere’s.

It was great seeing our servers again. We were not in a rush to eat since we knew the all clear wouldn’t be called before 7:45. We took our time and chatted with our servers. As we were eating, more and more people gathered in the lobby. About 7:30 we said our final goodbyes and headed out the door. I stood over our bags as everyone made a bathroom trip. By the time everyone was back, they had started moving people out the door.

We slowly moved toward the door. I’m not sure of the system, but they seemed to be letting a certain number out, and once those people were clear, sending more out. The wait was still very short.

Eventually we made it to our luggage. The luggage was not in the exact order that was implied during the disembarkation presentation, but our entire luggage was in the same row. After scrambling around looking for our one last bag, we grabbed a porter. Lots of guests did not use a porter, my DH said he didn’t see too many around. Some of the people on our shuttle were complaining about how this was the worst part of the cruise. I did not feel that way. Of course we had a porter who carried our 10 bags through customs and out the door and across the street where the Radisson shuttle was waiting to carry us back to the hotel. If we would have had to carry all our own bags to where the shuttle was waiting, I would have been complaining also. It was worth the tip that we paid the porter to carry our bags!!!! (About $1 per bag)

As soon as one Radisson shuttle pulled out, another was right behind it. The wind was really cold, and I was worried about having to wait out in the cold, but there were plenty of shuttles. Within minutes we were back at the Radisson, threw our bags in the car, one more potty trip and we were on our way home. Back to reality

jollytammy,

What a great report. You gave me a lot of ideas of what to do when we go in July.
