Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving tomorrow!!

We'll be seeing what Carnival comes up with for a Thanksgiving dinner!!! We're in Ensenada today, and tomorrow is a day at sea. Flying home from LA Friday evening! All in all, a great trip, but Carnival has a lot of stuff to work on....(getting the smell of vomit out of a room is the first thing...) :guilty: They gave us a different room yesterday after me complaining for 2 days...first solution was to spray some industrial cleaner that set off my asthma......now we're aft and my brother is forward, but we can all enjoy our rooms now!!!

Best thing I've seen so far is magnets that hold the doors open....to the hallway and to the bathroom in your cabin.....just a little thing, but SO convenient....meals just aren't the same without my Dis buddies......

Anyway, HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone!!!!!!!!:cool1:

Yuck....vomit smelling room......GROSS :sad2: My mom and Dad are going to be taking that same carnival cruise out of LA in February. You'll have to tell me a bit about it. They have never cruised before so they have nothing to compare it to. Anyway now that you have another room hope the rest of the cruise goes better! :)

It was an experience....we didn't do a tour, so all I have to talk about is the "downtown" area....my opinion is it's a lot like Tijuana....

Great pics, dear. I'll be able to look at them all over the weekend.....talk to you all soon!

hope veryone had a great turkey day! :)
We are fninshed cleaning up our garage and kitchen. We did a count and had 51 people here. I made the traditional turkey, potatoes/gravy, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, lemonade/coffee/tea. Everyone else brought side dishes, salads, & deserts as well. There was absolutely nothing left. Not even a crumb........I am so amazed. I had to cook noodles for Joe and Leah for supper. I had even made 2 15 lb turkeys/ 20 lbs potatoes etc. I guess we had hungry guests!!!! :rotfl:

Anybody doing to Shopping madness tomorrow? :confused3

Well, gang, back from our pre-Disney Cruise cruise. Eight days of being slothful is what EVERYONE needs to do now and then. I'm not sure I'll be rushing out to book with the line we were on, but we did enjoy our time. Met some great people (having dinner with four of them this evening!) and it was good to experience a different line. I can say that we are once again chomping at the bit for our time in January.

Hoping all is going well with everyone!

Glad to see you had a great trip...even though it wasn't DCL!!! :goodvibes

I can't believe I just found this thread but I'm glad I did. I also can't believe I read the whole thing. It took me all day!!! In between cooking for my family and running to the emergency room with my poor DS (5) who had been throwing up since 3AM. What a day. Well, I feel like I know you all now but you don't know a thing about me so here goes.

I got called away from the computer to watch some TV with my DH and figured I would finish this in the AM after coming back from doing some Black Friday shopping. Instead, I woke up at 3AM throwing up and wasn't able to go shopping. I am just now getting out of bed and it 7:45 PM on Friday. I started this Post at 7:45 PM Thursday. My DH went to WalMart this AM for me and was able to get the trampoline but not the GameBoy Advance SP. 1 out of 2 ain't bad.

Now to fill you in on me and my family. I lived in Hollywood, FL pretty much my whole life and was able to go to Disney World several times per year so I can't tell you exactly how many times I've been. My Dh was born & raised in Miami, FL and has pretty much the same history with DW. I have been on 1 cruise (Carnival) before and that was for an anniversary trip with my DH in 1994. My DH on the other hand has been on too numerous to count cruises since his best friend worked at Royal Caribbean and they were able to go several times per year for port charges only. My DH worked at Eastern airlines and he and his friend were able to fly frequently for just taxes. What a life, huh? When I met my DH, he was on strike with Eastern Union and his friend got married and moved away. So, poor me didn't get to go anywhere. My DH, DS (9), DS (5) and I now live in Arkansas and have been to Disney once since we moved here in 2000. My DS (9) has been to DW 4 times and DS (5) only once and was sick the entire 9 day trip. This upcoming trip we will be staying at Pop Century on January 17th and then switching to AKL January 18th and checking out on the 21st. We will then drive to Port Canaveral and stay at the Marriott the night before the cruise. We have a family coming up to meet us from S. FLorida to go on the cruise with us. It will be my good friend, her DH and their girls, DD (4) and DD (1).

My family will be flying in on SW Airlines and so will need to rent a car to get to and from the Port. Right now I have National booked to the Port and Budget booked from the Port. I have an AP so I could take advantage of the awesome hotel rates. I have not bought the tix for the rest of my family. I was very excited to hear that we didn't have to have a passport as that was an expense I wasn't looking forward to.

Well, that's about it. I'm sure I told you more than you probably wanted to know. But, I felt like I had some catching up to do. You all seem like a great bunch and I'm looking forward to meeting you.

Welcome Toni,
We too are staying at the pop, but will stay there until Sunday morning then drive to port. DD (3) and DS (4) love the large icons. This is a birthday trip for me! We fly in the morning after my 37th bday. I should've changed to flying in on my birthday but have a very close family and we always have a large party here since my brothers bday is 1/5, Mom is 1/12 and twin sis obviuosly has the same bday as me (1/18)!! I didn't want to miss it!
Anyway glad to see you found us and hope you flu is better. :sunny: I braved the crowds and did a bit of shopping but mostly some new clothes for myself as DH watched the kids so I could go out by myself. You just can't ever try on clothes with kids along! :rotfl:

Hi Toni! Welcome! I got your email but deleted it in error! BUT CJ would love to have a penpal for this trip! I cant believe we are under 60 days! It is going by so fast! My MIL does not know she is coming with us yet! It is going to be her Christmas gift! We havent even thought about how to present her gift to her. Also, the kids dont know we are cruising in May. I have to think about how to present them with their gift as well .

Hey Kelli, No relatives in Wyoming, at least not any I'm aware of. I can't wait to hear your comparisons between Carnival & DCL. I have only experienced Carnival so far and I had an awesome time and have been dreaming of another cruise ever since. BTW, I am also a dog lover (we have 5 total). I am definitely at my limit now with 5 dogs, 4 horses, a cat, 2 DS and a DH. Thanks for the welcome.

Hey Alvaro, Senior Poster, Old Man (HEHEHE),

What a privilege and an honor to share my birthday with "THE Senior Poster". Pretty cool. I look forward to meeting you and your family.

Thanks for the welcome.

Hey Julie,
I'm glad to hear your kids like the Pop. This will be our first time there. Growing up, I always either stayed off property or went for the day only. My DH has stayed at the Contemporary and the Poly. Together we honeymooned at the Ft. Wilderness Campground and since then with kids at AS Sports and the Dolphin. Ever since AKL opened, I dreamed of staying there. With the AP rates - my dream is about to come true.

How great to have a close family and to be able to celebrate birthdays together. And so cool to have a twin. My boys are very fascinated by twins and always say they wish they had a twin.

Yes, I'm feeling better thank you and actually went shopping today. ALL DAY! We had a great family day. I got quite a few gifts taken care of.

I usually take my kids when I go clothes shopping. They don't really like to go but I use them for an honest opinion and they keep me from buying "old before my time stuff". My youngest (5) is the stylish one and he doesn't mind too much, he knows he usually gets something too. The 9 year old - forget it, he'll wear the same clothes for a week if I let him. When I recovered from my bug, I noticed he had the same clothes on for 3 days. I asked my husband when was the last time he took a bath and he said "not on my watch". Gross!

Well, thanks for the welcome and I'll see ya soon!!!

Hey Dzneprincess,

I mentioned the pen pal thing to Justin and he was excited. I remember you mentioning CJ liking a certain thing but I can't remember what it was. Justin is into Pokemon so I know it wasn't that. Was it Yugio? No that doesnt sound right either. Whatever it is, I'm sure Justin would be interested. Does CJ have is own e-mail address? Justin doesn't so let's figure out how to get these kids together.

What an awesome surprise for your MIL. You all must be close. It sounds like you have to get your creativity going soon as Xmas is getting sooooo close. I'm excited but not as excited as I am about our vacation.

Thanks for the welcome and I can't wait to meet you.

Toni
