1/21/07 Wonder

Hello Everyone,
Just a reminder for those who haven't been on the web lately. Here's the plan.

Don't forget to wear the Disney Paint Chips(from HOME DEPOT) and put your names on them (real name and DisName) for the Dis Meet? Put them in a Lanyard with your key to the world card.

Our First DIS Meet:

Onboard the Wonder Sunday, January 21st, 2007
by 3 pm BEFORE the Lifeboat Drill, which usually happens at 4pm
Deck 10, Midship(above the Goofy Pool, on the dock side)

Backup meet point if the weather isn't co-operating will be Deck 4 midship, the Promenade Lounge

We can try for some kind of group shot if everyone is game. Bring your camera in your day bag!
We can also meet up there after the lifeboat drill for the sail away party. The reason for the main meet to be before, is the sail away party will be mobbed and VERY loud! Not the best time for everyone to get to know each other.
See you all Sunday have a safe trip!:wizard:

Yes, we are leaving in the morning. I had to work today and have to get the paperwork done before I leave. It is going to be a long night, but the weather forcast is looking better and tomorrow I can leave this behind, well, except for calling the office, checking e-mails, and worrying. :yay: :yay:

Wow! I am PACKING and so excited!!! I've had everything laid out in my guest room (I called it the Cruise Staging Area) for the last couple of weeks! I've been wondering how I was going to get it all in 4 suitcases and 1 garment bag (especially when DH told me he wanted 1 small suitcase for beer, soda, etc).

Surprisingly, it is all fitting in quite nicely!

I've got a seperate basket for the road - all the clothes etc, we will need thru Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. We are leaving home (SW Indiana) on Friday around 1:00 pm. I am counting the HOURS!

Also, I made a scheduling error regarding the DISmeet. I am in desperate need of a pedicure and have run out of time to get one here. I checked reservation times at the Spa and in my excitement to find time open on Sunday - booked an appt at 3:00. I will pop-by the meeting location on my way to the spa - if anyone is there early.

We're flying to Orlando on Sunday morning, can't wait for our first Disney Cruise, for our any first cruise, and for meeting all of you!
Safe trip, everyone!

Same to you hkrsk We are leaving tomorrow night from Baltimore on Southwest. They say it may snow here on Sunday and Monday, did you hear that for your area?

Yes, we're in Baltimore. It doesn't seem like it's supposed to be heavy snow. We have a 7:30 AM flight, and a 30% chance of precipitation starts at 10AM. I'm hoping we'll be fine. We're flying on Southwest too! Keep the seats warm for us!

We're at Cocoa Beach. When we left WV, it was snowing. When we arrived, it was in the low 70's and felt great. We are going to NASA tomorrow and will try to get to Grill's for dinner to watch the Magic leave. Can't wait to see everyone on Sunday. Safe travels.
Mareda

Mareda,
Glad to hear you're there and enjoying the great weather
Enjoy your day at NASA tomorrow. We will be down there around 8:30pm and try to find a place for dinner. Who knows maybe we'll bump into you along the way!
Cbsprings

Hey everyone - sorry I wasn't able to meet up with you all. cbsprings - were you guys in the pool first thing on Sunday? My ten year said he made a friend at the pool, from Maryland named Matt. Would that be your DS?
I hope everyone had a good time and I can't wait to hear about everyone's trip!

Susan

Got home this afternoon. The weather is in the 20's and there is still some snow on the ground. Boy, did that weather turn colder when we got back to the port. We spent the night at AKL and it was in the 30's there when we left this morning. I hope everyone had a wonderful trip and safe travels. It was great to get to meet you guys. Who's doing a trip report?

I was going to do a trip report later tonite or tomorrow. I would love to see a picture if you all took one of the group! I am also going to try to figure out how t0 put a picture in my signature.

didn't you love the extra day at castaway cay!!!!!!

susan

Susan,
That wasn't any of us at the pool. Only myself (Cbsprings), Mickey Minder, Hkrsk and Missingfl were at the meet. We had a Wonderful time though.
My 10yr old (Christopher) met several friends at the Oceaneer Lab he just loved going to that place! Great activities for him at the Castaway Cay beach as well. Was your son at the Oceaneer Lab at all? I can't wait for your trip report. I probably will not do one. I have to start working on tax stuff tomorrow!

My 8 year old liked the Lab more than my 10 year old did. My 10 year old liked playing baseketball on Deck 10. On CC we stayed at the beach all day, the 2nd day we rode bikes, played at the beach and did the Pirate Treasure Hunt.

I wanted to do a trip report because I got so many good tips from this board as well as a reminder to myself of our awesome memories - before I forget!

Susan

Susan,
I think that is a great idea! I am still recovering from the trip! I just downloaded all our pictures, everything looks so beautiful!
Christopher did play basketball on Deck when he went up there with the group.
He didn't do the treasure hunt because we got a late start that day.

Just got home from Orlando today. What an awesome cruise! my DW and I both loved the cruise. DS13 didn't spend a lot of time in Aloft, but did join the Wild Side and the teen Banana Boat ride and loved both activities. Our DD11 loved the cruise too, but she wasn't very happy with the Oceaneer Lab- she's probably just a little too old for it. she also whined constantly about our not giving her self check-out privileges. Oh well, one day she'll understand.
We spent one day in Epcot afterwards.(Unfortunately I got super-sick with a bad cold once I got off the cruise, had to see a doctor in Orlando. Now I'm getting better, but my DW has it and my DS is getting it. Oh well.)
It was great meeting you all. Hope everyone else had a great time too!

I missed the last several post pages prior to sailing- or I'd a met up with you all! We had a great time!
My 10 year old DD had such a wonderful time making friends in the lab! She palled around with 2 boys- Carl (canada) and Austin(Mass)...unfortunately she never exchanged addresses so she could pen pal with them! She was crying her little eyes out when we left the ship!
It was really nice doing castaway zx 2 wans't it? I won a massage & facial at Bingo- HEAVEN!!!!!:cool1:

My son Christopher says he also hung aroung with Carl and Austin and your daughter too. Ask her if she remembers Christopher?
They had a great time at the LAB with the kids and at the beach too!
