I did my first 1/2 with NO training... nothing, nada, zilch, and I survived (Although Sarah and I fit in the same sanity bucket!) So I think you will be good. You will probably hurt less than I did the day after...
That is crazy but pretty cool too! Were you able to run the whole race or did you walk some? How was your recovery period? I came down with a 103 fever about 36 hours after the race- they say your immune system is suppressed and busy making repairs elsewhere after long runs. I wonder if I compromised myself further by not preparing enough. My muscles are really on the mend now- stiff but not painful- still feeling a little light headed from the flu or whatever. Overall a great experience and I'm sure I'll do another at some point.
Haha- you were there?? Wasn't it the most perfect weather? You know I was the very last person to start. I was in the bathroom at 7:30 and when I came out and got to the start everybody was long gone! The clock read about 2:45 when I started.
Oh that would have sent me into a panic. Yes I was there and yes the weather was perfect! So you probably passed me at some point in the parking lot or at the very beginning of the boardwalk. I was very suprised at how awesome the after party was. It was the first time I actually stayed for one. I think if we do it again I will stay at the FSK both nights and make sure to request a newer room. We stayed the night after the race and our room had Tempurpedic matresses!

I ran/walked most of it. But like I said I hadn't done a single training run. It was insane. More insane than doing Goofy. And I hurt LESS after doing Goofy. I think it was like a week before I could even bend down, but I'm not entirely sure because it's all kinda a blur! I really wouldn't recommend it, but it reminds me that I can do anything if I put my mind to it.
I often get a fever after a long run. In fact, I was sick for like 2 weeks after Goofy (but I think I might have gotten mild hypothermia waiting for the buses)
I didn't get on line fast enough to register.
I'm running the Rock & Roll one this Saturday!
I'd love to run the Disneyland one too!
Please let me know if anyone is interested.
