1,000+ photos- Update-Pg. 12-my TR is over!

Great pictures! My boys (10 & 12) love the spider picture.

That's so funny that they liked the spider photo! I don't know that I would get that close if it wasn't so colorful!

I love all the detailed pics of your walk through the countries - great job! :thumbsup2 This is why I love traveling solo at least for a couple of days (then I get a little lonesome).

Thanks! I really enjoy solo trips. I agree with you that a few days alone are enough, too. I am scheduling an October trip to spend a few days alone & then overlap trips with family.

You take such wonderful photos! They are so awesome. :goodvibes

Thanks! I'm loving your TR, too!!

Awesome! Photo essay of world showcase! I can't wait to go back and walk through world showcase...we missed most of Epcot on our last trip....just to crowded the day we chose to go.
Hope you can arrange a short trip in May that will be a fun way to start your summer.

Thanks! I have to go get caught up on your PTR...didn't you mention a possibility of May, too? I just wish I could get there for a couple of days to meet everyone.

Beautiful pics and a really cute dog.

Thanks for reading! Isis thanks you for the compliment, too. :)

Day 1, Part 9
Some Maelstrom shots: (sorry about the blurry indoor ones- I was a chicken & didn’t want to use my flash!)

Now- Can you believe I’ve been to Disney 19 times & this was the first time I had been in the Stave Church Gallery? Again- sorry for some of the blurry photos. I promise better ones next trip.

I decided to try a jalapeno margarita:

From here:
IMG_2354.jpg

The margarita was awesome! I wish it was a little less sweet & a little more spicy, though. I still really liked it- I have never had anything like it! I wish I photographed the menu. While I sipped my margarita, I sat down & called & John. We only talked for a few minutes, then I was off to Spaceship Earth.

Continued in next post… Day 1, Epcot purchase (Sorry- I forgot!)

I almost forgot to post the photo of the Epcot towel I got earlier on day 1- it was right before I got to the Anerican pavilion. I just took the photo yesterday...Isis wanted a photo taken, too. Here are both:

On a side note- I went into Art of Disney along the way & they had this cool wooden “tiki” themed box. I wanted it so badly! I should have bought it. I also wanted the Thomas Kinkade painting of Peter Pan & the kids flying over London. There were a million other things I wanted, too- I love that store!

I went & grabbed a Fast Pass for Soarin’, then went on Living with the land. Sorry for some of the photos- I guess the moving vehicle & not being too steady-handed don’t mix to make good photos. I’m inserting a warning here that if you think you will be bored by pics of Living with the Land, skip to the next chapter....or maybe even the one after.

For some reason, I don’t remember the pineapple being here before. I was fascinated by the way it grows! I had always wondered that. I should know those things because it is my favorite fruit- maybe even favorite food.

At this point, I still had 30 minutes until my FP time. I decided to have a Corona Light & check my e-mail, texts, Twitter, etc. After this, I STILL had 15 minutes to go! I thought I may as well ride LWTL again since I didn’t want to leave & come back and since it was closed during my last visit. So- more LWTL photos…sorry!!!!

fun update! April love the pics of Norway...a jalapeno margarita sounds interesting :rolleyes1

I love the towel you picked and Isis is too adorable!

We are probably not going in May! still hoping but we have stopped talking about it for now...looks like Nov/Dec for Christmas is our time...he wants to spend a wk at the beach so I think that will be the first week of June.

:wave2: Connie

You got so many great Epcot shots. I'm very jealous that you had the solo time to wander around really exploring. It's what I had been hoping for on my last trip. One of these days I'll get the chance.

Holy Moley Moo Moo Cows! I missed sooooo much over the past day or so. Your Epcot pictures are outstanding! Simply beautiful!

Where are all the people? I so wish I could go to Disney some time other than May, June or August.

Don't apologize for so many Living With The Land pictures. I absolutely love this attraction. We've actually gotten off the ride and turned right back around and got in line again.

Thanks! That margarita- they actually crush up a jalapeno in it. I LOVE hot stuff!! That stinks about May- though, it doesn't look like I'll be going either. :guilty: I still want to go in December- I just have to convince John to go. I wish I could go to the beach!! I burn SO easily, though, that the beach is pretty much off-limits for me. It stinks, too, because I LOVE to swim!! You will have to do a beach TR for us. What beach do you go to?

Thanks! I hear ya! I wish I had more time by myself- I will definitely time my October trip to have more.

Thanks, Lisa! Ugh- I just lucked out getting shots without people in them- the crowds were awful most of the time. Star Tours at one point had a 50 minute wait time!!!!! Ususally it is a walk on- especially in January. There were a zillion tour groups there. I was pretty disappointed with the crowd levels. I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves Living with the Land. I might do the tour next time!

After the second ride on LWTL, I finally could use my FP for Soarin’!
IMG_2390.jpg

It was a really good ride- and it paid off to be a single rider. I got called out of the line to fill in a space early. I sat next to a man who reminded me of my stepfather- just because he had the reaction I KNOW my stepdad would have. He was saying “This is great!” over & over. It made me smile & I love to see people enjoy rides so much. I gave him a big, knowing smile on the way out. He just had a look of amazement on his face. I made my way from Soarin’ back over to Canada & the UK. I wanted to head back over to YC to put on warmer clothes to go to Downtown Disney.

I love all the pictures you took of Epcot. Makes me so excited to go back and see my kids reactions. :goodvibes

Beautiful pictures as always.

I love hearing reactions on Soarin. I think that is one of the best rides to really enjoy people's reactions.

More great pictures from Living With The Land. Just wait until I come back from our May trip, I'll have tons of 'em too.

Isn't it great when you sit beside somebody who really enjoys an attraction. It makes you enjoy it all the more.

The sunset pictures are absolutely beautiful. Good job!

Thanks! Other people's reactions (especially children) are one of the best things about Disney trips! My cousin may take her daughter for the first time in October & I'm trying to plan to be there at the same time. I can't wait to see her face when she sees the castle & just about everything else!!

Beautiful pictures as always.

Thanks! I love Soarin' & hearing people's amazed reactions.

I love watching newbie's reactions to Soarin. It just makes the ride that much more enjoyable.

I agree 100%!

Thanks! What I didn't mention was that I was FREAKING OUT because my camera battery was dying right at sunset!!! I wanted those sunset photos so badly. I bet I would have had about 100 more if my battery didn't die! :rotfl:

As my camera battery charged (and my phone battery died unbeknownst to me), I put on some warm clothes & got ready to head to Downtown Disney for some shopping. I took a few photos of the view, then went to the bus stop. There weren’t any other people at the bus stop, so I was all alone in the dark. A bus for Magic Kingdom came through after a couple of minutes. 10 Minutes later, the Downtown Disney bus drove up. We stopped at Beach Club, then Boardwalk on the way.

I wanted to check out Paradiso 37, so I power walked over there in NEED of food. I sat down at the outside bar & there was only one couple there aside from me. Unfortunately for me, there aren’t many vegetarian options on the menu, so I asked for quesadillas with just cheese. They didn’t have a problem with that, so yay! I was happy.

IMG_2454.jpg

In case you were wondering- that is Captain & diet again. I began to chuckle when they brought out the heaters because it was only 56 degrees:
IMG_2457.jpg

The couple at the bar overheard & told me they came from a below zero area north of Toronto! They knew where I was coming from. At that point, I was getting pretty tired & went back to the room, talked to my Mom, took a few more photos from the balcony, & went to sleep.
