09/21/08 SSMC08 S.S. Member Cruise 2008

This is the first time that DW and I have gone on a cruise, so obviously we are oblivious to what all goes on on-board the DVC Member cruise. Is there someplace that we can see a list of the activities and give aways that have happened on previous cruises?

I know the area by the Mickey Pool is non smoking but I think most of the other open areas including individuals verandahs allow smoking. I've never really had a problem with smokers on board.

Just wanted to say Hello to everyone as me and my Husband just booked the Members Cruise this afternoon. They said that we got one of the last two rooms left on the ship.... Yeah that is exciting!!! We just got off the Magic on the 19th and we are booked for another cruise January 17th, 2009. So this cruise will bring us up to 6 Disney Cruises....

Welcome aboard Jennifer - was it the 2005 or 2006 cruise you were on with us? I remember at the time you were engaged and planning your WDW wedding.

Oh it's official for me now. I took a big step today, one that took courage for me to do. I signed up for the Minnie 15K and the 1/2 marathon in January.

Now it's really time to get down to business. I am documenting my journey, with this whole thing.

I am hoping everyone is doing well in this nasty weather we are experiencing in the midwest. My husband just left around 830 tonight to help some workers on their way down to South Bend, IN. They didn't even make it 45 minutes away before the ice got them. They ended up upside down in a ditch next to a UPS truck.

does this not include the cruise ship or is this particular area a smoking zone? Can people smoke all around the adult pool?

Smoking is allowed on the private verandas and on the port side of the ship in the Quiet Cove area, which is where the Cove Cafe is located. There may be a few other areas, but I didn't pay attention to them.

I started reading and realized we are talking about smoking again. We had this conversation last week. Thought some of my posts had vanished.......

now I'm back on the right day.

I just wish there were signs all over that read "no smoking allowed anywhere". My DH passed due to lung cancer and he didn't even smoke. It was the people he was always around and I used to tell him to leave, but he wouldn't. live goes on................

Mary you can keep your snow right in CHI Town ours here in Maine is going fast . Can't wait to start fishing. Nanc and I were just talking about the Cove. She said they have the most confortable seats on deck and for smokers whats with that? Why don't they put a few more of those Wicker chairs out for the the rest of the guests.

Kay it must be nice to have a nice big TV to watch. Im jelious between you and my son. Two weeks ago he bought ba 42inch Samsung. The are great to watch shows in HD IE FOOTBALL HA HA.

Yep that was me. We did the 2006 cruise. With the wedding and all we decided that we would have to skip the 2007 cruise. The wedding was fabulous and we just celebrated our one year anniversary on the 7 day Western on the Magic!!! This past year has flown by. We were very undecided on weather to do the members cruise again. We enjoyed the last one, but we weren't sure if we wanted to stick with regular cruises or do another one. Well when we were on our anniversary cruise that is when they saud that there was still space available so after much thought I called yesterday and sure enough there still was.
