Not really. My #2 son was having some problems so I had to take him to the walk-in clinic on Friday. He has a pilonidal (sp?) cyst. They gave him some antibiotics and pain meds and sent him home. Took him to the ER after the soccer game on Sunday (his priorities :confused3) and he had a bad infection that was getting worse. Admitted him to hospital with IV antibiotics but those weren't helping. Surgeon came in last night and took him to surgery to remove the acute infection. He is coming home tonight though. He has to wait until this heals for 4 to 6 weeks before he can go back and have the cyst removed. So, I have been busy with him. Now I can get back to important things like the hunt for pirate: unless Junior takes them away from me!

I didn't mean to get the pirate:! The last post # I saw was 92 so I thought I had plenty of time. Sorry!!! Although it IS Wally's fault!

I had I pilonidal cyst about 12-13 years ago. They really hurt! The Dr cut it out and had to let it heal from the inside out! Yuk! I had change my own bandages cause Deb would pass out. They said it would take 6-8 weeks to heal but we went on a Disney cruise and by being in the salt water it healed in less than 3. Tell him I said good luck and I've been there!

doesn't the early bird give you a 36hr window to check-in online (or at least earlier)?

I guess I could have just checked southwest's website. :rotfl2: I found this info right on there:

AUTOMATIC CHECK-IN
Whether you choose to print your boarding pass the day before or just hours before the flight, your confirmed boarding position will be ready and waiting for you. Now you can print your boarding pass as your schedule allows.
BETTER BOARDING POSITION
We'll automatically check you in and assign your boarding position within 36 hours of your flight's departure - that's 12 hours before general boarding positions become available. While EarlyBird Check-In doesn't guarantee an A boarding position, it improves your seat selection options to help you get your favorite seat.
EARLIER ACCESS TO OVERHEAD BINS
Got bags? We've got room. By boarding earlier you'll get your pick of available overhead bin space.

Just got this and wanted to share......

The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn't already know. I stood up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder.

I turned around to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me with a smile that lit up her entire being.

She said, 'Hi handsome. My name is Rose. I'm eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?'

I laughed and enthusiastically responded, 'Of course you may!' and she gave me a giant squeeze..

'Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?' I asked.

She jokingly replied, 'I'm here to meet a rich husband, get married, and have a couple of kids...'

'No seriously,' I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at her age.

'I always dreamed of having a college education and now I'm getting one!' she told me.

After class we walked to the student union building and shared a chocolate milkshake.

We became instant friends. Every day for the next three months we would leave class together and talk nonstop. I was always mesmerized listening to this 'time machine' as she shared her wisdom and experience with me.

Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up.

At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet. I'll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the podium. As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor.

Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, 'I'm sorry I'm so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me! I'll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell you what I know.'

As we laughed she cleared her throat and began, ' We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing.

There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy, and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor every day. You've got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die.

We have so many people walking around who are dead and don't even know it!

There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up.

If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don't do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight.

Anybody! Can grow older. That doesn't take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change. Have no regrets.

The elderly usually don't have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets..'

She concluded her speech by courageously singing 'The Rose.'

She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives. At the year's end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those months ago.

One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep.

Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it's never too late to be all you can possibly be.

When you finish reading this, please send this peaceful word of advice to your friends and family, they'll really enjoy it!

These words have been passed along in loving memory of ROSE.

REMEMBER, GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY. GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL. We make a Living by what we get. We make a Life by what we give.

"I don't want to grow up. I'm a Toys R Us kid"

Thank you for the little life reminder! :thumbsup2

It's just frustrating that he has to heal from this surgery BEFORE they can cut out the cyst. Oh well, he's young, he'll heal. ;)

Im getting ready to book on Airtran no fees as long as all I have is one Carryon and a personal item. Of course I am only flying one way since Shawn is driving down on Wednesday, Im flying down on 9-11 for three days of rapid ride enjoyment with Junior and Brandon.

I do have to check with my TA though and see if they can get me a cheaper price on my flight. :cool1:

Rapid Ride Enjoyment!!

I love that phrase!! I think I'll start using that instead of the term Quickie!

I'm sitting at work waiting to make some money and all I can think of is the part of Van Halen's Hot For Teacher when DLR says "I think the clock is slow!". That's pretty much how I feel!
