Debbie...Our heater has already been on a few times at night. Today was just a perfect day...

Sue...this is the first time in a few years we did not go to Punkin Chunkin...did you have fun?

That's so cool! Yes, they had a great time! One of our scouts' uncle is one of the guys who competes - I think his machine is called "Sir Chunks Alot" or something like that. But Dustin was really excited because he saw the guys who host the Mythbusters Show! We love that show.

What is "Punkin Chunkin"? Do they just smash all of the pumpkins left over from Halloween? Either way, it sounds like a fun thing to do in the Fall....I mean with a name like "Punkin Chunkin"

It's an event where people build all kinds of machine - like catapults, air cannons and such - and see how far they can launch or "chunk" a pumpkin. Some have flown as far as a half mile!!! If you want to see what its about, there will be a show on Discovery Channel about it - I think it is running sometime on Thanksgiving or around there.

Oh, either way, YAY! I was just excited to finally get one of them again. I was on a roll on the 2010 thread....not so much on this one!

It's an event where people build all kinds of machine - like catapults, air cannons and such - and see how far they can launch or "chunk" a pumpkin. Some have flown as far as a half mile!!! If you want to see what its about, there will be a show on Discovery Channel about it - I think it is running sometime on Thanksgiving or around there.

Punkin Chunkin...is really cool. If you are interested, go to the website....www.punkinchunkin.com to see the different kinds--air cannons, catapults.
The Discovery Channel and the Science Channel usually has a program about it...not sure when yet.

Oh, my yes! There are a couple of them here...

Have never made it to a concert... I believe that next year, no matter what the cost, we will go. We *are* going to see Trans Siberian Orchestra on the 26th of November this year, and the tickets arrived today!

We went a show at the PAC that featured the lead singer from the Trans Siberian Orchestra. He apparently has done many Broadway shows including "Les Mis" ...

And oh yeah, good evening to all !

You will love the Trans Siberian Orchestra!!! We see them every year.They put on a great show with all kinds of special effects. One year Joan Jett was in the audience and she went on stage with them. Enjoy

Our local news channel will be giving us their "winter preview" tonight on the 11:00 news so I will be anxious to hear what they have to say. Their predictions were really close last winter.

A part of our local "evil cabal" of weather people today said that as of today we "1 inch behind the snow fall from last year on this date". And I am just fine with that. It was 60 today in Appleton ...
