09/18/11 - DVCers Take Over the Dream (S.S. Member Cruise 2011) - Thread #13

I got the new iPhone in the mail Friday and I'm having an issue activating it so deb wants to go to the nearest apple store. So that means we will be in Orland Park tomorrow. If any body wants to meet for lunch that's where we will be.

Dont let him fool ya....he is the one who brought up going to the nearest apple store! He's just trying to make it look like he's going there for me.

So, we had Brandon's birthday party last night. I gave him 24 invitations and EVERY single kid he invited came. Last year he had about 8 friends show up. I don't think I'm doing a "friend" party for him next year. One kid got hurt and now has a bump on his head and a scraped up elbow. My cop neighbor saw the accident happen and came over to tell me. I had been trying to work my way out there but had some issues inside the house. Ugh! Then when it got dark some of the kids thought it would be fun to play ding dong ditch. I didn't know they had taken off to do this and next thing I know they are all running back in a panic because the neighbor was calling the cops. Then that neighbor came down and said the kids let the air out of all four of her tires and they were letting the air out of tires all up and down the street. But she wasn't calling the cops because they are just kids. Umm...yeah.....ok....I really don't think these kids were letting the air out of all my neighbors tires! So, I don't think I'll be having a friend birthday party for him next year...or if I do, I just won't have it at the house! *sigh*

Ok, call me crazy but why is her pain level goal 5?! (on the whiteboard on the wall) Shouldn't it be 0-1?

I assumed the nurse came up with that number, but Lara just told me that was the number she told them.

When we moved to the recovery room, the nurse asked her a pain goal. I laughed, like you, and figured on a scale of 1-10 wouldn't her goal be 0? Lara said 1 to 2.

Hi John

It means Jayden is perfect and there is nothing to worry about.
A score between 7-10 generally means that the baby is doing fine.

The APGAR score is basically a 1-10 scale based on how well the baby's respiratory, cardiac, and neurological systems adapt immediately after it's born.

Wow! Sounds like a rowdy crowd. I'm a big fan of offsite birthday parties. Sadly, all my boys want to have these days are overnight game parties. We've restricted it to 8 friends or less though. There are only so many controllers and game systems to go around!

Wow! Did she have a c-section? Although, I will say the after pains with baby #2 were much worst than with baby #1. But, the lovely codeine helped with that.

Jennifer - sounds like you guys have had quite the adventure after your vacation! WOW! So sorry about everything that has gone wrong! Poor Dug! I sure hope he's having a speedy recovery! And I hope Abbie's car wasn't vandalized when it got stolen. I hope she's ok....I would feel so violated if my car got stolen!

We're doing much better, and I hope eveyone is too.

Allen and I are going to Disneyland for Halloween, sans kids...
We needed one more Disney fix, were feeling a little so we ("I") needed one more little trip...

Our next big trip for 2012 is in the early planning stages...
We are hoping to be in Epcot after Christmas, then on the Fantasy Dec. 29, 2012. At least the girls will help me with the FE's this time!

Wow! Did she have a c-section? Although, I will say the after pains with baby #2 were much worst than with baby #1. But, the lovely codeine helped with that.

All the kids we ******ly (okay that word is not allowed - so let's say non-c-section), with the help of an epidural. The delivery room had the Pain Goal of 5. I should have taken a picture of the sample faces for each pain level to post here.

Recovery was where she said a pain level of 1-2. They gave her one (narcotic?) combination of drugs, but she didn't like it as well as the ibuprofen. They gave her a prescription for ibuprofen when she left, because they said it was cheaper by prescription than to take the equivalent (4) over the counter pills.

Today things are still going fine. Removed the circumcision gauze. Lara's mom watched Jayden while the rest of us went shopping. Actually Lara went shopping (prescriptions & milk) on her way home from the hospital. Because I came from a different city, we both had cars at the hospital.

Hmmm ... we just joined D23, so we might have to think about the 2013 CA meet?

From your other post, I bet it will be a lot of fun having the girls help with FEs. Kinda like doing crafts together when they were little kids, but without the mess.

I think next year I'm going to limit it to FIVE kids....there was a group here towards the end of the night that all seemed pretty good. I posted a video on Facebook of them singing Justin Bieber. I didn't think any 11/12 year old boys sang along with Justin Bieber, but apparently I thought wrong!

Actually....next year we may not have a party at home at all. It's his golden birthday so we're taking him to WDW. We've already told ALL the relatives to save that weekend and plan their trips now. We're getting a grand villa so all they have to worry about is getting themselves down there and park tickets if they wanna go to the parks.

Unfortunately, Emilee's b-day is on the 30th, so we're thinking we'll have her big birthday party there on her sweet 16.

Junior is trying to burn the house down. Honestly...that man is going to extremes now to try to get me to move to Florida! Ok, so maybe he's not really trying to burn it down on purpose. He was putting a pizza in the oven and it slipped off the cardboard right onto the door and bottom of the oven. My house is full of smoke right now. UGH! I'm glad our smoke detector is down the hall closer to the bedrooms!

Did you get it all squared away? You should have sent a text. I didn't see this until today. And we were in Orland Park, right across the street from the mall.

Come join us in Florida too. Chuck just bought an accounting practice in Clearwater! He'll be a snowbird for awhile since he still has clients here and I'm not ready to give up LI after 60+ years!! Right now this still is home, the kids 35 & 32 still want to come home and sleep in their rooms. I'll hold onto that for as long as I can
