09/18/11 - DVCers Take Over the Dream (S.S. Member Cruise 2011) - Thread #13

Hi DISers. Long-time site reader but not much of a poster. I just wanted to say that I'll be on the SS Member Cruise this year and I'm extremely excited about it. My parents went last year and had a blast, so this year should be even better on the Dream. Plus I'll have my 1-year old in-tow for his first Disney vacation (he'll get the World in November,) so it should be great! I'm sure that I'll meet some of y'all there regardless since Disney brings out the friendly in people.

I've been up for an hour. The alarm goes off in 30 mins. I'm sooo excited I can't go back to sleep! Just a few short hours and I will see the Dream up close and personal.

Ok Sandy - just so you'll have some recognition at the airport. This is a photo of Lisa (blonde in front who is on this cruise- FaithTrustandPixieDust) and then my friend Gail (in the middle, will be with me at the airport) and me on the end (in white).

We'll leave for the airport around 11 am I guess. With not much traffic, usually only takes us about 35 minutes.

So sorry to hear about your mom. Lost my daddy about 6 years ago - it's tough.

But yes, happy times are ahead! YIPPEE for MICKEY!

IT'S HERE!​

We now have 0 sleeps at home!​

We are planning to leave for Milwaukee late this afternoon, and then tomorrow morning we fly on SWA to THE MOST AWESOMESAUCE PLACE ON THE PLANET!

We so very excited to get there and meet those that we haven't met yet and to renew the friendships with those that we have met before.

I started packing last night. I love Ikea bags because they fill so much but it makes it hard to travel with. I used them to organize things. Swim gear in one bag. Pirate stuff in another. I will then convert to zippable bags. I got one son and my duaghter packed. I have the other son, me and my husband is on his own. We need more suitcases. Maybe I'll just have to buy some while we are in Florida.

Oh, and this morning my son started throwing up! I had to take him to mom's for the day.

Got my mani/pedi scheduled for noon today. It's cold here but put my flip flops in the car. I'll have to switch them before I come back in after lunch. No flip flops allowed at work!
This company is weird. My department boss gave me permission to send an email to our dept about sending a care package to my stepson in Iraq and to all his buddies. We got in trouble for it. I can understand sending emails about donating to a charitable church or religious organization...but aren't we all Americans? It was around 9/11 too when people want to know how they can contribute. Whatever!

What are the roolz (rhymes with droolz) about bringing a 750ml bottle of booze on the ship? Carry it on or shove it through checked luggage? Thanks in advance for your assistance. On the way to the airport now!! Don't want it confiscated at the port.

All booze must be carried onto the ship. Do not keep it in checked luggage. Just bring it with you for all to enjoy

Eat At Papa Vito's!!!

For those of you staying at the port and want pizza delivered, there is a very nice place to order from. Papa Vito's. Get a menu from the front desk. It's New York style, thin crust pizza. Some of the best I've had away from Chicago, the home of THE VERY BEST IN THE COUNTRY!!!
