Hi Sirena,
Heck, I have no idea what we're doing on port days, let alone sea days :) ... we've were on 5 DCL cruises before DD came into the pix--1 last year w/her and this year... I'd love for her to find a little playmate. She's not in daycare so isn't exposed to little ones much...she stays w/g'ma. I guess we'll be doing the Mickey Ear ftn... but I'm buying the Bear Potty Training Video, thanks to previous posts, we still have 2 mths!! You never know! She'll be in swim class and she gets to be in the big pool at g'mas so she'll be bummed if she can only play in the little water spittles!

I actually only posted once at the beginning probably, just to say we're in..... I've been reading all the posts though! You guys are great, how the heck do you keep up w/this? I'm on the west coast and have to sign on before DH & DS wake up .. generally 5:30 am!!

Keep posting... love to follow the saga :)

Oh ... any ideas out there on what to do on port days w/a 2yo?? seems a bit limited... no more sea kayak adventures for us for a while:) But we love taking her everywhere!!!

I hope the Bear video works for you but Isa did really good with it. I'll try it with Jay when the time comes. I think we will probably head to the beach on port days and do some shopping but no tours.

hi everyone. I just wanted to first express my grattitude for the wonderful words and encouragement that everyone said, to sit hear and read *everyones* heartfelt words, well lets say an emotion girl became even more so.

The update is, I was holding on to small hope that a good Samaritan had my wallet and was trying to get intouch with me. That glimmer of hope was gone, after I called my CC companies. Apparantly the cash was not enough for the thieves. They used my CCs that day!!! The more I think about it, the more convinced I am that I was pick pocketed. We all know how crammed a subway can get, and I am the type that if someone bumps into me, I am the first to say sorry thinking it was my fault. Not even thinking that someone could be out to harm me. In that way I am very naive. I never realize or stop to think that there are people out there, whose sole intent is to cause damage to others.

My husband has been awesome thru this. He tells me that what is done is done, and I cant undo it. Yes, he is disappointed about the amount lost but he, like you all, says that it was just money and there are worse things that can happen. I love this man, he is my rock and I am blessed with him.

I think I am my own worst critic, and if I can just forgive myself it will be okay. I went and had my license replaced yesterday. That was actually alot easier and faster than I ever imagined ti would be. On the way back to work, I started feeling sorry for myself again, and a business had a sign up that read " Stop and take joy in the fact taht you are loved" ....WOW It pulled me out of my funk rather quickly!

I also neglected to to you all in my OP about the experience I had on the day I first noticed my wallet missing. On my 4th trip back to the subway, when I was looking in the trash cans around the subway, I had an interesting experience that still brings me to tears as I typr this. One of the trash cans was at a bus stop. There was a homeless man there who had asked me how my day was going. Normally, I side step unknown people because I work in Downtown Columbus and you can never be to sure about safety. Well on this day, obviously I was distraught. I told him what was going on. He asked if I had been back to Subway, and I told him I was on my way back. When I left Subway again, he asked if I had any luck. I told him no. He looked at as sincere as can be and said "Listen sugar, A nice Christian fellow up the road just gave me $15. I cant give it all to you, but I can give you $5." Here this fellow was with **NOTHING*** absoulutely nothing....and he offered to give me $5!!!!!!To him $5 hurt as much as what I lost hurt me. It touched me so much. I declined and told him I appreciated his offer. I told him it meant a lot to me, but that luckily I had people I could go to for help, and I was thankful for that. I asked his name. He said "JEFF" and that he just moved to Columbus a few months ago and had fallen on hard times. Then he said, I get $$ from the Army once a month, if you still need help on the 1st of the month I can give $100! OMG I almost lost it all over again. I thanked him for his kindess, again declined and told him I had better keep looking for my belongings. He said, " If you change your mind, see those trees up there? about 3 blocks? I have been sleeping under those trees for the past coupla weeks, and that is where I will be on the 1st" ...
Now I dont know if that story touches you all as much as it has me, but if you could keep this kind soul in your prayers I would appreciate it. Everytime I get upset with myself about how much I lost I think about Jeff.
My co worker thinks that was a message from God. I believe she is right. I try to remember this. It is not easy. So sorry to babble on, I jsut thought I would share, because I think of this man with nothing. offering $5 to a stranger when he has nothing. Well I just dont know how to end this so I will stop now. Something to think aobut though eh?

Wow Amanda! That is pretty amazing. He was definitely placed there to show you that other people that are worst off still have hope and not everyone is as awful as the %$%7@ that stole your wallet.

And since you are here, let me ask you: Is it worth it to change from deck 6 to deck 5? I am thinking about the room you dropped. My DH is only concerned about laundry rooms. Are there any in that area? He doesn't want to be seen carrying the laundry or going to iron his shirt.

Thank you Ilonka.
HAHA you are asking me about laundry??? hehe I am pretty certain there are no laundry rooms on deck 5. What type room are you in now? I liked the location of the rooms. Literally steps away from the kids club.
As far as laundry goes we never do laundry on board. What I normally do, is send out the clothes that need unwrinkling on the first night. It is not to badly proced. It is half the price of dry cleaning to get something pressed. I think I had my DH suit( cleaned and pressed), my boys dress shirts (x3)(pressed) DH dress shirt(pressed) one of my skirts(pressed)and my pants (pressed and cleaned) and it was around $27.50 I think?? Well worth the hassle of not having to deal with laundry, IMHO.

I totally agree and I did send my stuff out too but DH is very picky and he likes to iron his own shirts. We had to do the laundry before b/c DS1 puked on me TWICE!!

eww laundry on a vacation is blasphemous! ahaha but on a cruise??!?!?! Well that is down right crazy!! Somethings not right with that boy! haha I think that the laundry rooms are only on deck 6, but I am not sure

Favorite Disney Pricess Amanda - I think it was an angel that you met on the street. What a story! Wow. I need to reevaluate my present situation.

Sirena - The laundry room is so tight, it's difficult to properly iron IMHO. You can pack a little travel steamer - we have one from Joy Mangano (HSN) that works amazingly well, for getting out wrinkles and you can even get nice creasses on shirt sleeves!

that's not how you spell creases - (and they say Witches are good Spellers) you'll like Deck 6 we were there (midship) last time the location was nice.

Good afternoon ladies,

Great picture Amanda, That wa's a very sweet story about Jeff. It's amazing when those kind of things happen.

I hope some more of these folks send in some pictures, it would be nice to put faces to names.

Not much going on here. Did buy some underwater camera's the other day. So little by little I will get there. I spend most of my shopping time on two college bound boys.

Have a great saturday. I can't wait to see some pictures.

I sent Rhonda an email with a picture of me, Cindy and Mekayla - my DS15 is in the picture too, but he's not coming on the cruise. I had to search long and hard for a photo with me in it. I am usually the one taking the photo. I have tons with Cindy & Mekayla, though. How do you put a photo in your post? I would love to do that! I am not technologically inclined :badpc:

AFTERNOON!
oh my gosh! I have to get started on the house - bye all.
