We are also on this DD cruise. This will be our 4th Disney Cruise. Travelling will be myself, DH, DD 11 1/2, DS 5 and my parents. DD is looking to talk with another girl her age( 11-12 years) Last September we were on the Eastern and she had a great friend to hang out with. We will be at the BCV before the cruise. So, any other DD out there? I will try to get through all the pages of this thread this weekend. Looks like I've got my work cut out for me.

Wendy

Welcome aboard Wendy!!!!! Woohoo! most of the important info is one page one! And whatever you have ?? on jut asak! We wil answer!

Count me in, There's nothin' I like better than staying up 'till 11:59pm to make reservations for shore excursions. Actually, now that I think about it, what a cool thing to do...It's not everyday you get to book shore excursions pirate:

PurpleTart: OCF less than a month away!!! :Pinkbounc
Please stand clear of the doors - "Por favor, mantenganse alejados de las puertas" :lmao:
OMG!!!! :hippie: OREGON COUNTRY FAIR!!!! :hippie:

We have gone every year since we moved here! I am buying our tickets for Carefree Farms tomorrow and our three day passes as well! This is such a small world! We have to meet up!!!!!!! :hippie:

Amanda, when should we do the brunch? Is anyone joining us? JOANNEL, I am so sorry, I haven't called D*** to add you yet, but I just left her a message to call me tonight so I could add you asap. And when do we need the Palo ressies?

I would love to do brunch. What about the second sea day. Will we have to arrange it on board? It would be fun to do a girls only. My DH wants to do one too so I am trying for Monday on that one. Can I go twice?

I was going to try dinner on Friday. I don't want to miss Amimators, pirate night or the lobster night.

I don't know how I am going to stay up so late. I am a 10pm the lasted to bed. I am up at 5:20.

We are doing Fury Catamaran in Cozmel, and still thinking about Costa Maya.

What's every one doing?

What about Castaway Cay is any one doing anything? The jet ski excursion looks fun. But I don't know about my big butt on one of those.

I am trying to watch the dis chat & ask questions there. There are some on that have been dd already.

Hello All! We got our paid in full reciept from our travel agent and we are all set. This will be our first cruise and we are so excited!!!! It will be a total of 7 of us, me & the wife our 3 kids (11,8 and 6) and my wifes parents. This is so great to have this kind of info before we board. :woohoo:

Welcome! This is getting to be a big crew! I love it! :yay:

Good to have you onboard GaCruisers and WendyK. Seems you both have kids around my DD's age (4). Finally someone that she can meet to spend time at the OC.

I would love to join you guys for the brunch but I would have to wait and see if avail when I book.

Joanne, about Costa Maya...I signed up for the Native Choice with Ivan and David. I hope I still have time after the tour to do some shopping and explore a bit. Cozumel, I am nervous about the tendering. My choices are limited anyway since my two kids are too young (1 and 4). I think we will be grabbing a tube in Castaway Cay and floating around.

An off-topic question: Has anyone tried Chef Mickey for breakfast/dinner? Was it worth it? Which is better?

skoi - my DD is only 10 but is very mature, a bit shy, but she is hoping to meet and make some friends on this cruise

sirena - I know your looking for other DD4 but my DS6 is quite a charmer with the young ladies....he becomes very caring and sweet...last vacation there were two of them...he pulled out there chairs brought them their drinks...he seemed a bit out of sorts when they both showed up at the same time :teeth: my self and the other parents could not stop taking pictures of them together when they were not looking....

dzneprincess - wow what a long list of people...never realized there were that many people from this board going

joannel - sorry I was so anti social at the chat...not familiar with chats..bit shy u could say....well at least till i have a few margaritas...then i wont shut up :)

Palo dinner - just my kids on this cruise so not to interested in dining alone in such a formal atmosphere...also wont book on the semi and formal and pirate night cause my daughter wants to do those...not sure of my rotation so the first two night might be AP and i dont want to miss the first night there...cant do fri cause its the last night and i want to do dinner with the kids....

palo brunch - would like to do this one on one of the sea days...but of course that is probably the most popular and i cant book till day 75 (ur not the only one gssmks ;) )so im not counting on it..not sure if they will even do a resi for 1 person...if u guys are doing a girls thing, i would like to join in....

Excursions - stingray at castaway and mayan ruins in costa maya

Would like to do the beach and or atlantis sub in cozumel and glass bottem boat and para sailing w/dd10 in CC...but these are big maybes

Tonight I did a guestimate of my cost once boarding the ship and im at 890 ..tips 225..photos 100..excursions 265 (2 above)...drinks 100...souvenirs...200....

I trying to stay within 1100 so parasailing might not be an option :sad2:
I didnt even add in cost outside of the cruise...duty free in canada before i leave...duty free in orlando after the cruise....night before the cruise in orlando...i think im in bigggg trouble....

Anything u guys think im missing from my guestimate?????

Hope you all have a beautiful weekend :sunny: ...its going to be nice here in Toronto 32C or 96F and i dont think thats including humidity!!!

Ilonka,
tendering was not bad at all. Also grab a taxi and head to Paradise beach in Coz. IT was a blast!

We have done both...IMHO the food here is eh...what you are paying for is the character experience.WE usually like to start the day with breakfast, but we did dinner for the first time in Sept and it was nice to finish the day off with a character meal. Well gee I m no help huh?? LOL

Do you know if the Hard Rock Cafe is within walking distance? I collect the shot glasses :teeth: Just got one from Amsterdam :cool1:

How often are the tenders to go back to the ship? Last time in Nassau we went back to the ship right away b/c DD4 was annoyed and did not want to walk. I just want to make sure we have the option of going back open.

sIlonka, HRC was def within walking distance of the pier. Tenders in Coz were all day. They would have one coming and going at all times. they would wait for it to fill b4 sending it on its way. We even left our kids on the ship while we went to Majahaul in Costa Maya.

you did? i would feel nervous about that, especially since the tour to the ruins would take about 4 hours. and it freaks me out to think that there would be bad weather and i cannot tender back to the ship and they are alone. i know, i am a overreacting...

yep we did. They did not want to get off the ship that day, so we said okey dokey everyone get thee to they clubs and no checkng out whilst we are not on board. Took a taxi to majhaual, spent about 3 hours there and it was the best day of the trip!!!!!hahaha and PS not to cause trouble for ya, but are you sure you want to do the ruins???? If its your thing I guess it will be great but seems rather hot and uncomfortable to my whenever I try to picture us doing it! LOL
Of course there were a few who did it on our May Double dip, most said it was great. I did here from a few that said it was hot and uncomfortable! LOL
