Hey all

Our 13yr DD is learning to do all sorts of fun things to design web sites. She needs some more practice before beginning her Silver Award project for Cadette Girl Scouts and would love to keep up a web page for our group. Unless anyone else would like to do this, she (with our help) will update regularly all the DISers on board and planned activities.

Just let me know if she should move forward with this.

Karen :Pinkbounc

Karen,
That is so neat! I would love for her to do our site. Also - on a side note - If she needs any cool codes for HTML or Javascript PM me - I am working on a master's degree in instructional technology and I have some excellent HTML resources geared at middle grades students as a result of some classes I have taken ( I teach 4th grade).
Thanks!
Merry

WhOO HOO Top for me / shared with Karen! Thanks for the set-up!
Now I should really go to bed - that 5am alarm clock will be murder tomorrow since I have been on Spring Break - not to mention The WONDERFUL behavior that the students will most certainly exhibit after a week off - they wont want to be back any more than me! :teacher: - ICK! :confused3

Karen, That would be great. Just let us know what info you need. We arein 6100 and have late seating.

Gail, we would be all for a group to Palo's. So let us know so we can all make resies at he same time. Our last cruise we did it on friday night. That was a good night for us. We don't want to miss Pirate night, or the lobster night.

We did the tea last time. It was fun. ALl the ladies in our group went. We were 7. But I don't think I would do it again. I don't like tea. But the snacks and scones were ok.

Every one have a good Monday.

Thanks, and I LOVE your wedding picture. It looks like something out of a bridal magazine!
Thank you so much. It was one of the pictures that our guests took with the disposable cameras.

It looks like this was a busy group yesterday.

Hey does anyone know if we have to have the cruise paid off before we can make our pre cruise reservations online? ie, spa. Palos ect. We are paying it off in June but I can't remember if it will be before or just after the 90 day online date.

Yep - gotta be paid in full before you can make any ressies on-line.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. We had a group of people go to see the Fort Myers Miracle (Minnesota Twins single A minor league) baseball game on Saturday night. Rented one of the skyboxes and had food & beer brought in & had a blast! Actually had a foul ball come in through one of the windows that I caught!

Great! Tiffany (13yrDD) is very excited to organize our info  (but a little nervous it won't be "perfect"). :sad2: I told her she was among friends.

Merry ... I think you may become her new best friend!!

For now, please post (or send me a PM) the following info:

DIS Name(s)
Cabin Number (and category if you know)
Names (and ages if you want) of each person in cabin
Dining Seating (and requested rotation, if any)
Pirate Name (if you have one)

Tiffany will get started with this info and "coming soon" will be able to add a photo of of your family/group.

Do we have an "official" name yet for the group? Are we the "9/16/06 Double Scoop Group"? Has anyone designed a tshirt, button, keychain, lanyard or ??

I am happy to organize a tag game and am willing to help coordinate a sailaway party DIS meet. I am also willing to give it a shot on the tshirts (I just made some cute ones for our NCL repo in May) if noone else wants to, but I am not a graphics expert. I just use what is available, cut and paste, then add text. I am sure someone could do much better than that.

Okay, I am starting to get REALLY excited!! :cheer2:

Karen :wizard:

Just sent you a PM Karen. I have a laminating machine so I can do luggage tahs, name tags, etc. I'll work on a design and post it here before the end of the week - any thoughts or particular requests? :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

You guys are great. I do not have any creative bones on this body. So thank you, thank you, thank you.

Had a nice week end. Did all errands and chores Saturday. Spent Sunday in the pool. With four very active boys. Had to get out when it got a little too wavey. Found out I stink at pool basketball. Even the 10 year old beat me at horse..............

Have a good Monday and thanks again.

Siena that is so sweet. I know how hard this is. I have lived this all my life. I have never been skinny. My kids are a lot older than yours. So I have been carrying this baby fat arround for 17 years. :cheer2: I am hoping this cruise will be a good goal to stay on it. It's going to be hard. My youngest graduates from HS in MAy so we will have a few parties and lots of company.

Well, I have actually started - baby steps - to eat better. I lost about 2 lbs in two weeks (that's probably just water). I went to the gym twice last week. I was planning to go more days but DS1 got sick. He had fevers, peaked at 105 and has been really cranky. He has strepp. No rest for me anymore therefore no energy to exercise but at least I am staying away from sweets and junk food. Really trying to keep my hand out of the cookie jar - more like out of the bread dough! to lay off the bad carbs.

Still no workout on that treadmill I have in my living room. I just find it boring. I like the ellipticals in the gym. If my hubby comes home early today (doubt it!) I may be able to go to the 8pm yoga class. How's everyone else doing? I have another big motivator...we are going on vacation in May (to visit in laws)...

Off topic question-

Dd Sadie has to get her adenoids out. Has anyone else/ anyone's kid had this done? She's actually pretty calm about it. I think her father is more freaked out.

Thanks.

I had mine out as a kid - it was pretty easy really - and they did my tonsills (sp) at the same time. I remember being a bit sore - but not bad - and this was in the 80's before they used they new laser technology that they use now.

 Way to go!!!!!!!

Good job Sirena. I didn't do much over the week end. Did go to the gym last niht. Step class. My knee is killing me, so I am goin to have it looked at next week. I ma not dropping the lbs as fast as I would like. But one at a time is better that nothing.

I do have a question. We booked on DVC points. CAn we book ressies 90 days out?

have a good tuesday.

OK - now I am really depressed. I just got back from the dr's office. My cholesterol actually went up since the last time I was there. :confused3 Even after I dropped 10 lbs in the course of these 6 months. So now I gotta step it up - definitely exercise more and not eat any cheese :sad2: chocolate :sad2: or sweets :sad2:

Joannel, have you cruised on DCL before? If so then you can book all the extras 90 days out. Otherwise you have to wait until 75 days. By the way DH and I just joined DVC, and I am curious, if you don't mind my asking, how many points was the cruise?

Sirena, my mother had the same issue with her cholesterol. It turns out that her weaknees to shrimp was what was bringing up the numbers. She swears by the oatmeal thing. It worked really well in bringing down her numbers.

I love seeing how active the thread has been! I was sick as a dog all weekend, so needless to say that I have a million things to take care of this week. Thank goodnees for strong coffee. I hope everyone has a great day!

Not sure how much it would be normally but with the onboard discount it was 188points each for a cat 6 room.

:stir: Thanks...The doctor told me to eat oatmeal for breakfast and prescribed some fish oil caplets and fiber caplets...It's 10 caplets a day in total. Uck! I will get tested in 3 months so I hope by Sept all is sorted out. I think my problem is hereditary. :guilty:

I am not sure how many points. I know we can cruise every other year with a few left over. We get 250 a year. We have yet to stay on Disney with our points. We have only used them to cruise and one year we stayed in the Grand Californian in Disneyland. We usually stay in the Shades of Green, the military hotel on property. It is very reasonable and very nice. Some day I hope to stay at the beach club, maybe when we are older and greyer. All we do in sleep in that room.

We do have a castaway club number. So when is our magic 90 days June 18th? or June 16th? I need to put it on my calendar.

Thanks,
Joanne
