We are staying two nights at the Polynesian after we return from the cruise. We are planning to purchase annual passes because we know we are returning for at least seven days in December for the MVMCP and all the Christmas activities. I figure the passes will not be much more than tickets for nine days and with the AP discounts, it will be worth it even if we don't make it back for a third trip. But lets be honest, if I have AP in my pocket and nine months before they expire, I will probably make it back at least for a few more days.

PS We can officially say that we are cruising this year!!!!!!!!!!

HEre is a C&P if what I posted in another thread about my MILs surprise !

Quote:
but we did let MIL know about her trip in 3 weeks and she was ecstatic...she did not get it at first. Her first gift was a Disney Holidays calender (get it?) the next was her box of clues. There was a Gilligans Island DVD (castaways) and Popeye (the SAILORMan) DVD (sorry Stace acan you believe I could not find a box of CraxkerJacks??), A Disney word find, a WONDER ball ( I looked for the Disney ones and could not find one, I finally had to settle for the Nickelodeon version) Ocean Breeze body wash, Sparkling Water Air Freshner, A dolphin shaped car freshner scented in breezy water scent, some gummis shaped as various sea life....After all of that she was STILL confused. The next package was the replica of the Magic that my dear friend NJ Cruisers picked up for me....still no clue! Then the final package was a notebook folder that said "Jackpot" on the front.... get it?? LOL Inside the pocket was our navigators from our September cruise, the mailing that DCL sent us about the changes at CC, and the new little packet they send out about excursions. Inside that packet was a 5x8 photo of the Wonder docked in CC that I had taken. I fixed the back up, to resemble a post card. I said something like this
" Dear Steve ( DH's name)
Amanda, CJ, Nate and I are having a blast on board the Disney Wonder! I wish you all were here! The next 4 days are going to be great!
Love Momma"
And it was "dated" for 01/22/2006 they day we embark....At this point she was shaking but you could tell she still wasnt quite sure of what was going on! LOL Finally a light bulb clicked over her head and she started crying! She could not believe it! LOL She said at first she thought we were giving her mementos of our cruise! LOL

We did Universal Studios on New Year's Day. It wasn't overly crowded. Lines were about 30 minutes for most attractions. It was 80 degrees on Sunday with no breeze. Monday we went to Animal Kingdom. They had the new Expedition Everest ride running (without people obviously). It looks like it will be a lot of fun. We get to ride it between January 26-29 as annual passholders. It doesn't open until April 06. Monday was nice also, about 80 degrees or so. How was everyone's holiday?

Happy New Year Everyone!

Well we are crusing this year aren't we? I can't wait as the snow continues to pile up on our door step this morning.
Gail- get the annual passes. We will be using them in 2 weeks for the 5th time during this use year! Santa was kind enough to let Southwest drop their airfare to $98 RT just in time for me to finish my Christmas Shopping. :cheer2: Of course the DVC memberships we have just keep on paying for themselves over and over!

I need a little Disney right now. We braved the human tidal wave and went to Time Square for New Years....the NYPD can learn a little from Disney about crowd control. Overall a BLASAT though.
Stay well everyone September will be here before you know it :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

Happy New Years to everyone. We're starting the New Year off right. Today, the adoption agency called to tell us China has given us permission to come and get Madalyn Jie Hua! If the American consulate can squeeze us in before Chinese New Year (Jan 26), we'll be leaving for China on the 15th-- all four of us. So we need lots of prayers and pixie dust :wizard: for that appointment.

Julie

Julie that's wonderful news! Good luck, prayers and PD coming your way!

Happy new year fellow cruisers! I am so excited to say that "I will be cruising THIS year!" WHHHOOOOOO!!!! It's so nice to see my timer started out at 17 months and now were in the home strech!!!! I am far too excited this far out, but what can I say, I love DCL!!!!! :earboy2:

Congrats to you Julie. have a safe trip.

Hello cruise friends,

Dinnysuw (Darcy) :wave2:

We're definitely going around 1/15. We're waiting for flight information now.

I'm going to try and keep a blog of the trip with photos and updates. Can't promise it'll be any good. Here's the address...

Well, o.k. maybe not the "nick of time" but hey, I made reservations for this Double Scoop Cruise and it's only 9 months out! 2004 Cruise we booked a year in advance...so 9 months feels like "just in time!" I am so excited to be going... having done this once before, we know a little more of what to look foward to! Missed Palo's the first time - that will NOT happen this time!! :rolleyes1 So... what's all the news for this trip...Pirate parties? Wine and cheese meetings? :confused3 What's going on? It's Me and my DD Mekayla...I need to figure out how to fix my signature line down there... Anyway, I'm Thea :wizard: she's Mekayla princess: and we are soooo happy to be coming with you! :teeth:

Welcome Thea. I hope to get to know every one a little more before sept.

I just read the last few months posts to get caught up :cool1: I need some feedback... I was booked on the Wonder's 11 day Southern Cruise (September 2006) and I called DCL to check on the reservation and I told the rep that DD HATED St. Thomas when we were there in October 2004. For the SPENDY price of the 11 day I told her I thought we should get treated to Castaway Cay at least twice. :confused3 She told me about this sailing and that I could get a Cat 12 for about $1700.00 which is half of what I was willing to pay for the Wonder's 11 day. So, my delima is this... I changed my reservation (no penalty) and booked me and DD in a Cat 12 (gty - no idea if we're in the bowels of the ship or not) for $1700.00 and a $50.00 Shipboard Credit. Did I blow it? I am having exchanger's remorse... eleven days is after all eleven days...even if we've been to the ports and we were not that impressed. I honestly had never heard of NOT going to CC when it's on the itinerary and after traveling in 2004 after Charlie, Ivan, Jeaneen (sp?) and the other one (there were 4 that year) skipping CC wasn't even a thought in my little pea brain. :rotfl: After reading the boards it seems like CC gets skipped a lot for whatever reason and people miss it. Since you guys seem like frequent cruisers...is $1700.00 reasonable for this cruise or did I book too late and get a bad deal? That price includes insurance but not air fare or transfers. Have you ever heard what happens if CC gets "bumped" from the agenda? :umbrella: I am not normally this freaked but as a single parent this is probably the last Disney Cruise DD will get out of me while she's young enough for the Oceaneer's lab. Her request in 2004 was that she get to do this again before her 13th birthday to play in the lab, and since the passport law will go into effect December 2006 I am not planning on leaving the country again any time soon. :rolleyes1 Remind me I typed this when you see me booking my next trip on the ship. :teeth: So, for all of you that are "in the know" and have Dana at your ear help me out. Thanks for reading my book, I mean post... Promise not to do that to you again

WldWcnWmn,
Whenever you cruise you always have that chance of CC being dropped. Especially during those months. I have seen them change the itinerary and move the stop to CC on a different day. Every cruise that DW and I have been on, the CC stop was always "Wonder-ful" weather. Maybe that was just luck. However with the double scoop, your chances of stopping there is greater.

Quick question:
What was not enjoyable at St. Thomas? DW and I though that was the best stop on the Eastern cruise.

Well, to be honest, I don't think we gave it a fair shot. I never got out of the shopping mall that was right off the pier. Mekayla didn't go to St. Marteen with me, she stayed in the Lab while I shopped, so when we walked off the gangway together in St. Thomas she looked around, and said, "o.k. I'm good, let's go back onboard." I think the idea of having to take a cab to the other side of the island just to get to the beach was unappealing to her. Knowing we were going to CC the next day (maybe day after I can't remember) made it seem like a lot of work for the beach. :sunny: I told her about the ruins and Dolphin excursion on this trip and she's a lot happier. :earsgirl:

Darcy, sorry to hear you had to cancel. Welcome Thea! I believe you got a good deal for the cruise. I believe we paid 2,800.00 for the four of us and we were fortunate enough to get one of the secret porthole rooms on deck 5. I'm also still hoping for a Florida resident discount to be offered as well. That would be great! We too have a not so great stop on this cruise (so I am told) at Costa Maya. I hear its not the best but either way, we have two scoops of CC right?

Welcome aboard! My DD and I are sailed just the two of us also. How old is Mekayla? My DD will be 8, almost 9, when we sail. This is our first cruise and she is so excited. We are trying to find other children her approximate age who will be sailing, hoping to make a friend or two before the cruise. So far there have only been a couple children in her age group. It seems most of the people who have posted her are sailing in adult only groups. I hope your daughter is close to my daughter's age.
