D23 - The Official Community for Disney Fans!

Look what I found...

D23 - Unveiled at Last

The rumors have been flying - just what do those three intriguing characters, D 2 3, stand for? And what is brewing at Disney? Ever since those mysterious "Are you 23?" posters, buttons and ads began popping up and tantalizing us in the most unexpected places, there have been whispers and debates among fans as anticipation went sky-high.

Well, the wait is finally over. D23 is here - and it is revealed as the ultimate organization for Disney fans, offering a glorious behind-the-scenes publication, special collectibles, an annual exposition, an all-new Web site, and much more. Many savvy fans guessed correctly what the name stands for -- D for Disney, and 23 because the Company was founded in 1923.

I was just coming to post about this. We joined. Only bummer is their special expo out at Disneyland is the same weekend as the Member Cruise. Still we loved being a member of the old Disney Club and with the cancellation of our May trip thought this was a nice compensation.

Pretty close..about a 10 to 15 min ride. I am live in the South County, very close to the city line.

Wow! What a small world. We stayed once at a Sheridan that was about 5 min from ther. It was a very nice hotel.

Washington University is a very nice school. There dorms look like condos.

Yes you do.

The Brewery is a very nice tour. I loved the Clydesdale’s. We did that when my DH came out there to se the Cardinals play the Cubs. But that was many years ago. My DS was I think 6. We also went to the Caverns and the Zoo. I do like your Zoo.

:dance3: :dance3: I am so excited!:dance3: :dance3:

My DS took is Leed Test (for environment control) for his job and he passed. I am told it is not an easy test. He has taken it before and did not pass.

Dianne - How exciting for you? Get some sleep I am sure you are going to be busy soon.

Take care

Flo, Congrats to your DS, So I asume he has a job in this field

Thanks Diane!

Yes, he does. He is a Project Engineer. He works on plans for Havoc systems. What is bad they are changing the test. So in six months any one that took it will have to take it again.
I guess it is not an easy test. Most people that take it the first time do not pass. I know he did not. They do not allow you to being any thing in the room with you. They give you paper and pencil. He said that all the cubs have cameras in them to make sure you do not cheat.
I was like wow they are serious.

Did you get to go to Grants Farm? That is about 3 to 5 min away from me...but so is the brewery. I love watching the Cubs and Cards play..DS
tells me he is buying us a ticket pack for the Cardinals. It was the Christmas present we didn't get...sounds good to me.

I was just checking air out of O'hare for the Friday and Saturday before the cruise on American. Boy was I shocked. They have fares for 79.00 with out tax. I did the Friday before and returning on the day we get back and for two of us it was about 378.00. That is not bad.

Diane, Are you leaving out of St. Louis?

Diane,

No we did not go to Grants Farm. I have never heard of it. What do they have there besides animals?

What a nice christmas present.

My Ds and Dh usualy go to Milwaukee to see the Cubs play. It is easier to get tickets.

Yes we are, I try and wait for southwest rates to come out..I usually get a good rate. We like to fly non stop, almost all of the other carriers make stops other places

I guess the reason for this is they want them to be Environmentally Friendly! When he graduated I had to have he write out what the announcements had to say. He got a degree in this with a sub in this. I just said you tell me and I will have them printed that way.

I am with you on Non stop. I checked the Jet blue ones but they do not do direct out of O'hare and I was not crazy about there times.

That is why when I saw American it got me thinking we should maybe book.

Grants farm is next to the historic Grant House. And the orginal Gen Grants cabin is on the property. Its owned by the Bush family. Thier mansion sits on the property, along with many animals, Tours have always been free. They drop you inside at the beer garden. You can get refreshments there. A very nice place. Kids really love it, so do I. I do wonder since they sold the brewery, if it will continue to be free.
