Last year we could have done the next pirate: in a couple of hours or less. :lmao:

I emailed the powerpoint version of the logo to Beth, and she's going to work her magic on it. In the meantime, I created a blog that we can use to keep track of information. And I posted a copy of the logo (with the ports on it) along with a DIS door sign that I copied from another thread.

We can start keeping track of DIS meets, secret santa lists, etc right on the blog if you'd like. Just send me the info and I'll get it on there.

I got the door sign and the logo. I'll be posting full-sized versions sometime before lunchtime today (I'm on Eastern Time). For some reason, my boss seems to think that I ought to do a little bit of work today before I start having fun:confused3, although I've finally convinced him to take a DCL trip! His only other cruise was on Carnival, and he had a terrible time. It was the wrong ship for him, he was seasick the whole time, and he was with his wife's family and co-workers. He wants to cruise with me and my family in the spring!

OK, my boss is in a really good mood and told me to go ahead and do this--of course, I'm waiting for someone to send me the information I need to finish my other project anyway, so at least I'm not wasting time!

For Brack (and all of us more mature folks) here are the two graphics--
DISlogo.jpg

and the door sign--
DISSign.jpg

Sorry that they're so large, I just don't have time to shrink them down right now!
ETA: I resized them a bit so they're not quite so large. Once they're done, I can make them any size that anyone needs.

Wendy did an awesome job with the design. I'd like to add some fancier fonts--maybe something "Disney Cruise"ish? I can make my own, so I'll see what happens. Perhaps something with characters, the Magic logo and a bit of holiday thrown in!

YES!!!:yay:

Love the door sign! :thumbsup2 Now all I need is someone to personalize it for my family (all 3 staterooms, of course), print it out on the appropriate paper/magnet sheet, then mail it to my house. Any volunteers? No? I guess I'll have to do it myself. :smooth:

I agree with Beth, that it would look good all gussied up. Can't wait to see her new version. ;)

I'm keeping an eye out for little goodies for the Secret Santa :santa: Has everyone who will participate signed up on the other thread? I was hoping to print out a sheet with the names, ages, etc. so I can have a cheat sheet with me. ::yes::

Okay, back to work. :surfweb:

Great signs :thumbsup2 Thanks.

I think they look great <strike>two</strike> too, and will personalize the sign for our two doors... Thanks

I have to ask (I am not technology savvy) now that I see our cruise "logo" for shirts and door, what do I do with them? We have a door sign from previous cruises we will use, but I like the new one also. I need step by step directions how to get these pictures from this site to shirts and door signs. I know, all you youngsters are rolling your eyes, but I need help. Am I the only one? :confused3

Nope, I am also confused as to how we do the T-shirts. I was just about to ask that question myself!

For the door signs I plan on just printing out, laminating and then putting magnet tape on the back. I think some folks buy magnetic paper to print them on.

Beth is going to spruce up the logo. But to use the door sign, just right click on it and download the picture. Then open up in Paint and you can erase our names and put your own. HTH

I'm hoping to get a few minutes this afternoon to work on this. I'll erase the two names on the door sign and repost it (hopefully before 4:30 today!).

To use the logo, you can print it on special iron-on transfer paper and iron it right onto the shirt.

Now all I have to do (besides a little sprucing up on the logo) is remember to order the shirts! When my DH (Jim) saw the logo, he right away said "tote bag". Hmmm, he may be right. I'll have to try that, too. That would make a great day bag for the day we board the ship!

Printing on the iron on transfers is pretty easy. We did this last year for the shirts in Brack's great photo! We used the transfer for DARK material for the lime green shirts.

Thanks for the info on the iron on transfers. I was completely at a loss. But then I did a search on the internet and discovered they have them at Amazon.com! I got our shirts in the mail the other day, and hopefully I won't mess them up when I do the transfer:scared:

I found some awesome Disney fonts for free online. If anyone would like them, just send me your email address, and I'll get them to you.

Wendy

I took the liberty of placing the info on T-shirts, our DIS meet, and the Secret Santa list on a blog for our sailing. I figured this way we'd have one place to go to print out all of the info before we sail. As we get closer and make more plans, we can add more info.

I can keep updating the Secret Santa list from the Thread, or we can use the blog site instead for folks to sign up. Either way is fine with me. If PFishGirl just wants to let me know then I'll post the instructions for signing up on the blog (either thread or by contacting me).

As we get closer, does anyone want to try to arrange a group brunch or dinner in Palo? I believe the min number of folks to book the "secret room" is 12.

Wendy

Good morning, everybody!

If you check back at post #905 you'll find that I reposted the door sign without the names for those of you who don't have a graphics editor (or the time to do it!).

I have a good-sized collection of Disney fonts, some of which are my own design (a few princesses and a couple of other characters designed for my granddaughter). I have them posted online somewhere, but the link is in my office. When I get there I'll post the link and anyone is welcome to them!

I have a big project to work on this morning, but I'm going to work on the logo at lunch time (that is, of course, if I get time to take lunch:confused3) and I"ll post my results later on in the day.

Now for a strange development in my plans:

Jim and I have been considering all of the options for excursions on St. Martin. We aren't desperate to go to a beach, since we live at the beach and we don't spend a whole lot of time in the sun since he has red hair and freckles and I've had skin cancer. However, now our plans are complicated by the fact that we will have to sneak off of the ship in disguise. Just before we leave for our vacation, I will be completing a project with a woman who is very hard to work with. I usually take the same vacation time to recuperate from working with her for two months. Yesterday she called me at the office and told me she had some wonderful news! Her husband had just booked a vacation for them in December. They travel to Europe a lot, so I really didn't expect her to say that they were going to St. Martin. My boss had told her that we would be there during the week of Dec. 8, but he wasn't sure which day. Guess when they're going to be there? That whole week. She thinks it's wonderful. She'll meet us at the dock area, since she'd love to come down and see what the ship looks like. Maybe I'll tell her that we'll be there on Monday of that week? Or maybe Friday? :rotfl: So if you see us sneaking around the island on our St. Martin day, it's not any of you that we're trying to avoid!

Beth

ETA: I forgot to say--brunch and/or dinner at Palo sounds like fun! We really enjoyed our brunch at Palo on our last cruise (see the picture in my sig), and our dinner was good too.

OK Beth we've got your back on St Martin. We'll be your groupies, and will keep the masses away:cool1:

Don't stress about the logo, we have plenty of time. As long as we get our shirts and the transfer paper, we can iron on the logo at anytime.

I added a picture of the Door Sign without names to the Blog. I'll also start a list on there of folks who are interested in a group visit to Palos.

When you get a chance (no hurry) I'd love the link to your fonts!

Wendy

And now, ladies and gentlemen, here are some links to my collection of Disney fonts.

If you prefer RAR files: 4Shared or DivShare .
If you prefer ZIP files: 4Shared or DivShare .

The file name for any of the above downloads is Dsny.zip or Dsny.rar. The ones that begin with "AL" are my creations! Enjoy them, use them privately, but please don't use them for commercial use or share them anywhere else. Now, I'm waiting to see all the "Magic"al things that are created!
