Hi everyone. I admit it, I tend to lurk. I enjoy reading the boards and every once in a while I have something bordering on interesting to talk about. Of course, not this time, now I'm just trying to come out of my shell. :wave2:

I talked on the boards before our last cruise, but then I got all shy and didn't join the meet. Hope to do better this time.

Very excited about the cruise. This time my half-sister will be joining us, and it's her first cruise, so every time we get together, she has questions. It gets me all excited, telling her all of the wonderful things she can expect. :thumbsup2

Judy - how rich are you to take 3(!) vacations between now and then? Wanna be best friends? :flower3: I kid! Kind of.:rolleyes1

Alright, looks like I have actual work to do :surfweb: so I'll catch you guys later!

Our kids are not kids anymore and don't travel with us. We had kids with us on every trip from 1970-1997. When our kids traveled with us we only took two vacations a year. Now that it is just us, we take five. Our reward for getting older. :cheer2:
Come to the DISmeet, you will enjoy meeting everyone. It is nice to see new friends everywhere on the ship and ports of call.

I hope that you will join in more. We are really a nice bunch of cruisers. Some of us have cruised together before and it is really more fun when you know others. It's almost like cruising with family that you actually like! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

This is us too! :thumbsup2

Our one child (34yo son) still goes with us sometimes but he pays for him and his wife. Because we vacation alone we too can afford to have 5 weeks of vacation a year. We usually spend a least three weeks on some Disney type of vacation.

Yes do join us for the DISMeet. It will be fun and a great photo-op

I know that I have posted this picture before but I love it. It was one of my favorite times on the cruise.

We're beginning to get excited about the cruise but we do have a couple of vacation trips to take before hand. Still 5 months will be here soon. :yay:

We, too, are "post-child". Our son is 32, and is married and has a seven year old daughter. While we all live together, we do travel separately now and then. Our granddaughter is home-schooled, so we don't have to worry about vacation time and can travel when we want. We have a few short trips planned before this cruise, some for business and some for pleasure. This trip is actually a big family vacation at the beginning, and then we will leave on the cruise and "the kids" will remain at Fort Wilderness for another five days after we've gone for their "private" vacation. By the time we all return from vacation, it will only be a few days before Christmas.

I look forward to meeting everybody once we board!

Beth

Our kids are all grown up too and it definately has changed how much we vacation. Soon to be full time vacationers we hope! :woohoo: I heard that when you retire they pay you just to wake up in the morning, but that a nap in the afternoon might also be required! ;) :lmao: :cool1:

Even though our cruise is over 5 months (and three vacations) away I am still getting very excited. I love to daydream about the Magic. I love the ship's horn. My cell phone plays WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR. What makes it even more exciting is knowing we will be seeing the ship and Castaway Cay decorated for Christmas.:santa: I also love meeting all our DISfriends. :grouphug:

DrHug bought horn from JC Whitney catalog, recorded the Disney ships horn on it and put it on our motorhome! Too cool to blow that as we pull out. He also put a duplicate of the plaque above the bed in the stateroom (A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes) in the bedroom of the motorhome. And a Tink in the back window. We are hopeless addicts! :sad2:

I have enjoyed getting to know everyone on this board, so I'll make a real effort to overcome the shies and join the meet.:thumbsup2

Thanks for the encouraging words, too!;)

I, too, can't wait to see the ship all decorated for Christmas. That's really going to be a highlight, I think. :santa:

Disney_Mommy:

Please get over the shies! I went through it too, but once I came out of my shell I've had a blast with DIS people!

Beth

Most of us don't Bite... :rolleyes1

Anyway.. Glad everyone is starting to get over their Shies

Lets Have An AWESOME Cruise !!!

Where did Dennis get the plaque? I would love to get one of those.

He made it from a photo he took of the one on the ship. Printed it in two pieces on his Canon i9900 printer to get it large enough, pieced it together and then we found a frame that would fit. It is (I think these numbers are right or at least close) 13X30something inches. It looks very authentic.:thumbsup2

Very creative! :scratchin I never would have thought to do something like that. Have you posted a picture of it somewhere? I would like to see it. Thanks!

Happy Fifth of July, fellow cruisers:cool1:!

I had to work at our community's celebration yesterday, so I didn't have a chance to wish everyone a happy Fourth. I hope you all enjoyed, and we're one day closer to cruising!
