The last of the dinner dishes have been loaded into the dishwasher, Bill went to the store real quick and the kids are watching a movie in the living room. So, what a better time to DIS than now?

Staying home and enjoying the dinner that DDIL is busy cooking right now! All I have to make is my "famous" cranberry/orange sauce.

I'm going to spend a lot of time relaxing and trying to get rid of this cold before it settles in. I have a lot of stuff to do the rest of the weekend, so tomorrow will be my "day off".

Beth

:cloud9: Enjoy your day relaxing. I hope you feel better soon. :flower3:

I tried doing that this morning. I ran in for a box of crackers for stuffing. Kids have been eating what I had in the house with peanut butter!! So, I run in, grab 2 boxes of crackers, a few bags of those glad steam in bags, and go to the check out lines. The self-serve are closed (it was after 9AM and I had to be at work by 9:30), the other lanes were full. The express line was the longest. I was going to go to Customer Service to complain and maybe get them to check me out. On my way there, a new express line opened, and I checked out quickly and got to work on time!! :dance3:

Bill is at Wal-Mart right now. He's getting our DISdog some dog food. I should have timed him to see how long it takes to get the one item. :rolleyes1

We were invited to a Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. I'm kinda glad it's a late one - around 4 or 5pm - rather than an early one cause I really wanna sleep tomorrow. :rotfl:

I asked if I could bring anything and they requested my "famous banana pudding," which is fine except that I never received my bowl back from the last party where I took my famous banana pudding. :headache: So I'm going to have to buy another container to put it in. Not to mention I don't have the ingredients on hand, so I'm going to have to go to the grocery store tonight which I am not looking forward to at all. But at least it's less than 10 items, so I'll use the self-serve easy check out line.

  <-- will be banana pudding in my tummy tomorrow.

Did Julie ever make it back from the store? :lmao: Mmmmmmmm! Banana Pudding. That is one of my favorites. Do you make it with the Nilla Wafers and all?

- Jennifer

Yeah, it's always a toss up between going early and having the crowds, but the self serve lane, or going late and no self-serve lanes, but less crowds.

I decided to wait. :headache: I'm thinking I'll go about 10pm tonight and maybe it'll have cleared up. :confused3

And yeah, Nilla wafers and all :) I use sweetened condensed milk with the pudding to make it extra creamy and rich. Not so good for dieting, but very yummy.

We were invited to 3 different places for Thanksgiving.. 4 counting Angie's invite ;)

We are going to my Mother's around 2 and eatting at 3 and hopefully home by 6 the latest.. :scared: Mom and I can't stay in the same house for too long without getting into some small tiff.. :sad2:

So this year I get to use DS having to be on call for First Aide/ EMT all day as a way to get out faster.. :thumbsup2

All I want is the circulars so I can see if I'm shopping Friday at the crack of dawn or not.. :confused3

Hello....anyone here?? I will be around for 2 hours!! I need help to stay awake!

I just put a cheesecake in the oven. It has to bake for 1 hour, and then sit for 1 hour, before I can put it in the fridge.

Now, DH and DS24 laugh at me when I said I was making it. Now I don't think that is fair of them. This is an awesome recipe for a very heavy Italian cheesecake. It is a friends mom's recipe. Now, I have made it lots of times, but had problems 2x, and the "men" in my family never let me live it down.

The first faux paux was when we were in the townhouse, so this was over 8 years ago. The oven was put on broil by mistake :headache: . Now, it wasn't really my fault :rolleyes1 . The oven was cleaned so much that you really couldn't read the knob, so I thought it was on bake  . And now the joke is oh, mom is gonna make cheesecake flambe :sad2: .

Well last year I go to make it again (I have made it many times inbetween mind you). My oven was set on bake  , I poured the batter into the spring form pan, lift the pan to carry it to the oven, and WOOWY :scared1:   the pan springs apart, and batter all over my tile floor.

Well, my oven is on bake :cheer2: ...timer set for 1 hour...:hourglass ... I put the pan on a cooke sheet and used that to carry it to the oven  . So now I sit here an wait.
:surfweb:

Well in a little bit we can do a pirate: chase :thumbsup2 That will kill some time for you..

:woohoo:

Mmmm. I love homemade cheesecake. I never have the patience to make them, but my sister has dozens of different flavored cheesecake recipes and she's always making them. Yum yum.

Duhhh on me... Does anyone need anything from WDW or DTD or anything, since DH is down there alone may as well get him to pick up supplies.. :lmao:

I can't think of anything I need. But I'm sure if I saw something I liked, I'd know right away that I'd need it. :lmao:

I've been craving cupcakes :confused3 But, mom said her friend is coming over tomorrow with dessert so I don't need to bring anything.. :guilty:

If I make them for here... I will be the one to eat most of them :sad2: so I'm trying to control my craving..

:headache:

You sound ummm thrilled. :lmao:

It's ok, my biggest issue is my bil and fil, they are constantly saying NO DS don't do that. Please be quiet...yada yada yada. My DS6 is a handful, he is ADHD, and lets empasis the H. But from what I am told, he is just like my DH and BIL.

BIL has gf, they don't want kids ever, and bil will probably never marry, or so he says. He is not a kid person, and has very little patience for DS. I get annoyed, when I am standing there, him telling my DS what to do. I ahve *****ed about it be4, and he had stopped. DH also tells him and his dad to stop. Now if he was playing with a knife...fine, but leave the freaking kid alone.

Example, we went to a TexMex place Sunday for dinner, there was 10 of us. Mil, Fil, Bil, GF, Me, DH, DS6, DD11, DS24 (bday boy his dinner), DSGF. We got there before the in-laws and were waiting, there is ALWAYS a wait here, but it wasn't too bad. We grabbed a table in the bar area and got some fresh hot tortilla chips and salsa. DS decided to try the salsa, and liked it. But he put so little on it, just a little dip, do he was quadruple dipping. We were trying to tell him not to do that and what to do instead, and DH went to get another bowl of salsa. But in walks Bil, and he takds DS's hand to stop him. SH$T BATMAN, I was sitting right next to him. DSGF was there, we were handling it. I HATE WHEN HE DOES THAT!!!!!!

I like my mil, I can tolerate my fil, and barely my bil. They just do things that annoy me. I don;t let it bug me too much, cause well...I donj't live with them. I do like bil gf.

And I am happy DS24 is coming..and he HATES family get togethers. Plus he likes my cooking better than mil  . MIL does really bad side dishes, or should I say, ones that my family doesn't eat. I am making my stuffing, so my family will be happy.

I told mil that I have been buying baby corn from the grocery store, and steaming them, adn the kids lvoe it. So what does she say, oh, I am making some sort of corn pudding dish. ICK!!! My DD or DS won't touch that. She has them over enough to know how picky there are. What would it take to buy some baby corn??

Well if I get up early enough, I may attempt to go to Wegmans, but I think not. DS6 asked for corn bread, he had it at their feast at school today, so I will make that.
