Yea well 43 table settings is alot.. I hope you have a dishwasher at least.. Although you may need to run in several times before all the dishes get done..

Long ago.. we would all bring a Dish and have like a Pot Luck thanksgiving.. It was alot of fun.. But never with 43 people.. :scared:

We have about 5 or 6 dishwasher loads with all the glasses, bowls, plates etc. Plus the hand washing. I try to keep the pans washed as I go. The good thing is that I do not do ANY of the dishes. Once dinner is on the table I am done and get to put my feet up, relax and enjoy my family. My step sister is the head kitchen clean up girl. She refers to herself as Cinderella and my sis and I as "the step sisters" at that point! :lmao: She has lots of help though. Then I usually get to put it all away on Friday morning, but this year I get to pack it up and load it into my nieces truck for her to take home. :woohoo:

Just go to snopes.com and then search for Walter Reed. It gave me a link to the Walter Reed official site which had this posted:

Title Holiday Cards to Wounded and Recovering Soldiers
Page Content Walter Reed Army Medical Center officials want to remind those individuals who want to show their appreciation through mail to include packages, letters, and holiday cards addressed to 'Any Wounded Soldier' or 'A Recovering American Soldier' that Walter Reed cannot accept these packages in support of the decision by then Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Transportation Policy in 2001. This decision was made to ensure the safety and well being of patients and staff at medical centers throughout the Department of Defense.

In addition, the U.S. Postal Service is no longer accepting "Any Service Member" or "A Recovering American Soldier" letters or packages. Mail to "Any Service Member" that is deposited into a collection box will not be delivered.

Instead of sending an “Any Wounded Soldier” letter or package to Walter Reed, please consider making a donation to one of the more than 300 nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping our troops and their families listed on the "America Supports You" website, www.americasupportsyou.mil

Other organizations that offer means of showing your support for our troops or assist wounded servicemembers and their families include:

http://www.usocares.org/
http://www4.army.mil/ocpa/tooursoldiers/
http://www.redcross.org

For individuals without computer access, your local military installation, the local National Guard or military reserve unit in your area may offer the best alternative to show your support to our returning troops and their families. Walter Reed Army Medical Center will continue to receive process and deliver all mail that is addressed to a specific individual.

As Walter Reed continues to enhance the medical care and processes for our returning service members, it must also must keep our patients and staff members safe while following Department of Defense policy. The outpouring of encouragement from the general public, corporate America and civic groups throughout the past year has been incredible. Our Warriors in Transition are amazed at the thanks and support they receive from their countrymen.

DH and I are flying in the morning of the cruise. Our flight leaves at 7:40am. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and our early flight will get us there in time. Anyone else flying in on Saturday?

Just found my docs sitting on the porch in the rain.:woohoo: Was home all day but didn't hear the UPS guy.:confused3

We flew in the day of in 2000, but that was September and we lived in Virginia, so weather delays weren't on my mind. But I think I'd probably always fly in the day before now anyway just cause i'm so paranoid about things going wrong. I don't mind getting back later than expected... but I've gotta get there on time! :thumbsup2

We live in California now, so flying in the day of isn't an option with the amount of flight time and 3 hour time change. As it is, we leave Friday morning at 9am and don't get to Orlando until 6pm.

:lmao: :rotfl: There is no way to explain the fun of the chase to anyone who has not participated. DGS just ....:sad2: at me. :lmao:

My DW has watched me do this for years and still thinks I'm nuts to get so worked up over it. pirate:

We always try and fly the day before a cruise and the day after so any unforeseen problems may get avoided

There is NO WAY I'm going down on the day the ship pulls out. I couldn't stand the pressure. :scared1:
