I went away to Upstate NY for college, and I was tired of being teased. I worked at it, and watch how I spoke, and enunciated words. When I am tired, or angry...it sometimes creeps back in.

I know what you mean. My best friend from high school lives in the same town I live in now. We both worked really hard to lose the mountain accent when we came to school. When we are together we let oour gaurd down and speak old school. We also have to do this at class reunions or we might get the s@*# slapped out of us. One girl we went to school with is a news anchor in FL. She spent thousands on voice coaching. She is thin, beautiful, no accent and was voted most attractive local meida person for the whole state by some magazine last year. I am so jealous, I mean happy for her. (and she was the chubby one in high school )

Yeah, the CM on the phone today said I should ask at the podium--that's what they told me last time, and when we got there, the staff was really sorry to disappoint us. (That was at the Tea Room.) However, they definitely made it up to dd, brought her a little bracelet and an "Aurora" crown as well as a card...(we were celebrating her birthday). I was hoping to go back to the tea room but it's totally booked. Now I just have to make the call and ask.

If not maybe we'll just have a fancy ice cream at Ghirardelli and make a fuss over her ourselves.

Yep, another here who "sanitized" the accent at college. Now I enjoy the regionalisms I still have, though.

And speaking of chubby, I am STARVING and think I should go to bed before I go break into the Oreos...I don't have time now to go shopping for new Spanx to keep me in my formal.

I know how you feel, I just a Ruby Tuesday's commerical on TV and that burger looked good. And I know it looks much better than it tastes. Hmm..is Mickeyd's open late by me...

She was helping me "organize" the Secret Santa tonight...I'm saying "have you washed you those hands??" So, um, the sticky smudge? Princess digits.

I'm hoping the hairdo might hold, they laquer it pretty well. But she doesn't have the patience to be uncomfortable overnight. Oh well, at least she'll have a new tiara.

...And now I'm back to dodging the Oreos.
