Heck, the only reason I am even on this cruise is because of the cut rate deal on Cat 12. I will take the 12 and be happy. Or, anything else and be happy. A real vacation...just me and DH for 7 nites... .

How did you find out about the cat 12 deal? Was it a huge deal?

$599 for the first 2 and $499 after the first 2

You get a pirate if your post is a "100", i.e., more recently, 9100, 9200, etc. That's why things go a little crazy when the counts get to, say, 60 or 70. There are bonuses for "round" numbers, 500 and 1000. The forty second rule kicks in if you try to post, then post again right away. You can only post every 40 seconds. If you try to post before the 40 seconds is up you'll get a little error message telling you to try again when your 40 seconds is up.

Those of us with guarantee/GTY cabins get the booking when the rooms are unassigned, and often they will oversell a category if say, the 12 is selling faster than the 11...then they wait to assign cabins until they have a better idea of how many are coming and who's paying for what. The "lore" is, with a gty you're giving them flexibility with the hope you'll be rewarded with an upgrade. Hope that makes sense...

I actually changed our reservation from a category 11 to 12 last week because it saved a ton of money. I was really worried that we would hate our cabin. But I thought it was worth the gamble. I hope I was not wrong and we hate the room.

Will it be better to arrive early or late to get on the boat? I mean, when is the best time to get the best room if it is just guaranteed?

It was mentioned on the DISBoard so I called. It saved me $770.00

paid with a disney visa $50 OBC...
booked through AAA $75 OBC
but that is with any cruise 12/07

If you have 4 booked to a room you will automatically be upgraded to an 11, the rooms should be assigned before we set sail, hopefully before next week....

I was actually checking prices for a cruise next summer when I saw that a couple of the December sailings had really, really good rates. So I talked DH into it.

You will like the room I promise.

There is no best time to get a best room. The rooms will be assigned ahead of time and most likely they will be assigned within the next two weeks.

We are Cat12 GTY and if we get a Cat12 cabin assignment then .....

I agree. We book cheap cabins but stay at the Grand Floridian or Animal Kingdom Lodge. What does that say about my fami ly?
