Wow, I go to bowling last night, and miss two pirate runs... That's over 200 posts I have to catch up on in about 4 hours. I'd hate to think what these boards would be like without a 40 second rule ;)

Picture this.. 6 adults at Palos.. eatting for 4 hours straight!!!!! Our waiter brought us at least one of everything on the menu that night.. and not small portions either.. They had to roll us out of there we were so stuffed.. :woohoo: Our reservation was 7pm, we got out at 11pm

I soooo hope Tina and I can enjoy Palo's. You'd never tell it by looking at me, but I'm not a big eater, (at least in one sitting.) We decided that we HAD to do Palo's on our anniversary, which happens to be on Tuesday night, the same night as Pirate Night!! :scared1: Since this is our first cruise, we wanted to see and do EVERYTHING!! So we booked the earliest Palo reservation we could, which is 6:30. Then we hurry back to the room and change for pirate night, (which will be like khakis and a tropical shirt) and head to the main dining at 8:30 so that we can get the bandanas and the menu souvenirs. Then onto the pirate night festivities that has the huge buffet. I'm getting scared just THINKING of all that food that night. But I'll manage somehow. :rolleyes1

Don't worry sweetheart!!! I'll eat enough for the both of us!!!! :thumbsup2 :lmao: We can just eat at Palo's, get an appetizer at main dining, and snack when we feel like it at Pirate night. BTW...How long does the Piraty festivities last??? I'm sure along the way someone's told us, but I've forgotten. I love you and I'll call you later to see how you are feeling.

Good morning all!
Beth don't leave yet only few more post till the pirate: run
Sorry--I'm off today but am babysitting the granddaughter, and we like to get up early and have breakfast together. I had to get her into bed and to sleep last night, not an easy task with a 7 1/2 year old who is just too busy to stop doing whatever she's doing!

I also am trying NOT to get any pirates, remember? I figure that will be good for a "mercy pirate" or two at the very end, because I will, indeed, be posting at the very end. I'll miss about a week before the very end, but I'll be here right up until I walk out of the Animal Kingdom Lodge to get on the bus:thumbsup2.

sorry guys :guilty:
I will be at a conference wed, thurs, and friday so y'all can do the pirate::dance3: w/out me....
I'll be at a conference next Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs, but I'll probably be around very early in the AM and late in the PM, although once again I'll have to be asleep early because I have to be in the convention hall at 8 AM!

We are hoping all the GTY 12's will give some of us Upgrades :wizard:
DH & I am in an 8 this trip.. We've never been in an 8.. We have been in 7's, 6's, 4's & 3's.. I'm spoiled :goodvibes

A lot of the Gty 12's will have to get upgrades, or we're all going to be really cozy stuffed into those rooms!

You know, I've always wondered about that. So many people post about how they order a couple different appetizers, try a couple different desserts every night, etc. But I've never been able to work up the nerve to do it. I have issues about both being too demanding and looking like a pig. :lmao:

But there's really been times I've wanted to try something, but I'm just not sure if I'd like it... like the escargot. So I don't wanna waste my appetizer on something I'm not gonna enjoy!! :scared1: ;)

The other problem being that DH is kind of a picky eater. So doing the "you order one thing and I'll order another and we'll switch" has never really been an option.

Maybe those of us linking dinners can talk our servers into bringing bunches of stuff for us to try. :woohoo:
Don't ever tell your server that you can't decide what you want. You will get one of EVERYTHING! That happened to Jim on our Thanksgiving cruise. And yes, he ate almost all of it.

This will be our # 8 dcl and 3-non dcl and Never once ordered room service.. :confused3
We've never done room service either. We're too sociable to stay in our room long enough to eat!

I told him if he wants to smoke, he can get hisself into a hotel!

I don't allow anybody to smoke in my house, on my front or back porch, or on the patio, near the pool or near the vegetable and herb gardens. If you absolutely have to smoke while you are at my house, you have to go all the way to our "smoking area" which is a small corner of the property as far from anything as you can be. And you have to clean up after yourself.

Brack: You and Annette look totally elegant in your formal finery! I can't wait to get all dressed up.

Well, it's time to do a few things like :laundy: and make breakfast for Shannan. She and I will go out later and vote, even though it means we'll have to take a bit of a walk on a rainy day. That's what umbrellas are for!

See you later!

Beth

You really won't have to go to your regular dinner to get the bandanas. Just tell your servers that you are doing early Palo and will be late and may just have dessert or something and they will be happy to get your bandana to you. That way you will not have to rush so much and will still get all the festivities. Your servers want you to have a great cruise and will do anything they can to make that happen. :goodvibes

aaawwww.

:lmao: :rotfl2: Tina is thinking an appetizer at Main dining and I, of course, immediately thought a second dessert! :lmao: No wonder I am pooh size and had to buy some really, really BIG shorts last week! :lmao:

Well, the way I see it is, we HAVE to have the chocolate souffle (sp?) at Palo's. That's just a given. And then we can go to main dining and get something light, like an appetizer or desert, then on to pirate night and IF there's any reason that we get the munchies or something late, grab a turkey leg. Then again, we will be in the parks a few days later and we can get our turkey leg fix then! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Not to continue my obsession about my room assignment (Cat 12 anyone?) but I just pretend booked to see what else is available.

The ship is empty. I think it's the 30 or so of us and no one else. They have at least 14 rooms available of every category (except 12!)

Guess we won't have to worry about saving chairs! :rotfl2:

And from what I can tell, they should start giving us our stateroom assignments on Saturday...one month to the day!

Goodnight!

Empty? :lmao: There has to be a few more people onboard because they raised the price for the lower cabins.

Still it will be nice to not be too crowded. :dance3:

If they are still not even close to capacity they could wait until the last minute to assign cabins in hopes that they will sell.

Problem is we are never IN our room. :confused3 Last cruise we did order cereal, toast, juice and such for breakfast on port days. Helped save us some time for those early excursions.

We are seldom in our cabin either but I have been known to get up at around 3AM to order oatmeal raisin cookies and coffee from room service. :woohoo: :yay: popcorn::

I was thinking that too, Brack. Considering how many cabins just sold recently because of the deal, we might not actually get our assignments at 30 days. :sad1:

As long as it keeps showing me as booked, I'm fine though :cheer2:

That being said, liquor is cheap in California, as far as I can tell. :sad2:

That's probably so everyone will not be all that upset over the price of housing out there. :scared1:

I'm debating going back to bed for another hour or so or actually getting out to get some things done. I have an odd feeling of pressure in one of my sinuses that doesn't bode well.

DH's workplace was doing free flu shots for all employees yesterday, so I made him get one. It works out well since the only other places I've found them are all from 10am-4pm :confused3 So I'll go sometime next week to get mine, I think.

Beth

Thanks. I pulled out my tux last night along with the Caribbean suit I bought this summer at the Men's Warehouse. Now all I need are some fake cigars for the full effect. :lmao:

I am very unhappy right now

My work internet access has this system where they "throttle" service to nonessential sites when the bandwidth reaches 50% so I have had to "hijack" one of the neighbors wireless service. It is slow! :headache:

Me too :thumbsup2 but it is exciting to speculate. :goodvibes
