I'm so far behind it's going to take a bit to catch up!

That's a really good idea... turn the postcards into recipe cards. I was sitting here wondering how I'd do a recipe card. I wonder if there's a label size that would work for printing out the recipes then attaching to the postcards. I could hand write them, but I don't know if you'd be able to read them. :o

I'm planning on figuring a way to feed them through my printer. I can't write long hand anymore...

20 year septic owners here....we've had some experience but have no alarm. If it was recently pumped (in Oregon that is a requirement at sale) then it should not need pumped. [snip] They heard the WHOOSH! coming their way when they hit the blockage. :rotfl: It did not, of course, come up into the pasture, but they sure thought they were gonna get it!

Or it might be the downpour although we have never had buckets of rain back ours up.

If you have to "dig it up", you don't really have to dig the whole thing up. Just have to dig a hole where the cover is so they can remove the cover to pump it out. [snip] Our pumping guys will NOT dig it up for you, no matter how you plead that you are an old lady and the ground is frozen. :rolleyes1

Thanks Angie...we bought the house thinking "septic's no big deal" and it's not, really, but it is one more "homeowner" thing hanging over our head. We had septic at our house in Victoria BC (not too far north from you) and it was never an issue...but it occured to me reading your post, it almost NEVER got really cold in Victoria, and here in NS...not so much...:scared1:

Yep, the thing hanging over your head is that backing up scenario!! :lmao: We have a big post in the driveway, the previous owner said that's where the pump is, so I guess that's where we'd dig ("we" being dh of course!!). But it hasn't "alarmed" again since early Sat evening, so we're...um...ignoring it. :rolleyes1

I do love the flexability homeschooling provides for my family. We get to travel when it is less expensive and not as crowded. This year I enrolled my son in the new Georgia Virtual Academy. He is now considered a public school child even though I teach him at home. We have an to log in daily but I should be able to do this on the ship.
.

I have a friend in Oregon whose daughter is enrolled in their virtual school, she loves it. :thumbsup2 Her daughter is in the Talented and Gifted program and the bricks-and-mortar school just wasn't able to take good care of her...

Nothing in this house was standard when it was built! :headache: So, he has to figure out how to get that black pipe stuff unglued and put in a longer crook neck so it will match up with the drain from the sink. .

I have a friend with a colonial-era home in MA. She has developed a mantra for such days: "I love my old house, I love my old house, I love my old house..."

I wanted to put up some of the Christmas decorations this weekend too but my DW wouldn't let me. :guilty:

I think we will start early this year just b/c we'll be gone for 2+ prime weeks in Dec. We don't get home until the 21 or 22, and I'm trying to figure out if we can still buy and decorate a real tree at that late date (they tend to be dried out by then, having been cut in early Dec...). It may just be the "kids' " fake tree in the family room this year, but at least we can decorate...

While we were sound asleep yesterday morning at 1:26am, we heard someone pounding on our door. When we went to check it was the police. He said he just wanted us to know that our garage door is open! Nice to know they check things like that but he scared me. He said there have be a lot of burglaries lately and wanted us to know it was open. My first thought was what happened to who, that the police are here. My daughter was here but my son and his puppy (Ozzie) live in Oak Park. Of course DH fell right back to sleep and I tossed and turned for 1 1/2 hours.

Ok, definitely "freak me out" time, but I think it's really great of them to take the time to help you out. :thumbsup2

Well I just found out about the Sleigh Rides at the Wilderness Lodge yesterday. I called the reservation line right away (I guess that's where Emi works?) and they are all sold out!

I just read that they have fireworks wagon rides at Ft Wilderness...not quite as fancy I'm sure, but sounds like fun. We did the campfire and movie program there last January (bundle up!) and it was so much fun.

We're going to put the tree up next weekend. I tried to talk Jasmine out of putting it up this year. I said "how about we just decorate, and don't put up the tree?" But she was having none of that!

Yep, that'd be me too...practical just doesn't apply to Christmas...and Hallowe'en, and Easter, and birthdays... :goodvibes

Hi,

my husband and I are thinking of joining this cruise - we can't decide whether to go with this date or the 1 Dec.

This would be our 4th Disney cruise this year - I think we are addicted !!!

Hey Welcome! :welcome: Are you actually in the UK? I thought we were going to be the only "foreigners" trying to figure out those monochrome US bills! ;)

Ok, now I only have about 10 pages for reading and response...

I only have to work 3 more Mondays. Next Monday we will be in Las Vegas.

We are a family of four (+ puppy) and I will be cooking two turkey breasts (we don't eat dark meat either). I wish my kids would get married so we can grow our family. Holidays are pretty quiet but I try hard to make them special.:wizard:

Stacy, I had mail from BAB and I am going to get the polar bear. Polar bears are my favorite. For Christmas my daughter adopts a Polar Bear for me at the zoo. Some day I hope to see Polar Bears in the wild.

Happy Monday! And I only have to work two of those Mondays, the one before Thanksgiving and the one after! So now I'm off to take a shower and get ready for a lunch date with a friend I don't get to see too often because we both work different hours. I'll be back later on!

Beth

That's very nice! I'm off this Wednesday, it's my 34th B-Day :)

ooo I know it is probably in JsMom2 link but... what side do we put the Iron On to.. Front of the Lime Green shirt or the Back ?? I don't want to look backwards.. and I still have to design the opposite side with something cool :confused3

We plan to put ours on the back.

The really maddening thing is that our house is not that old. Only 30 years old. The person who built it was a contractor who built it for his family to live in. So, he used really good materials and everything has held up really well, but it seems alot of not standard size stuff. Such as sliding doors, plumbing etc. :headache: Oh well, DrHug is making it all work out, as usual.

WOW!! Only one more Monday for me!! :yay: :dance3: Next Monday is a holiday, I work the 19th, I'm off the entire week of Thanksgiving to prepare for the hoards, and then we leave for WDW :woohoo: on Dec 2. :hourglass

Good Morning Everyone!!!! I just hopped on before doing payroll and boy am I behind!!!!! I try to catch up while Robby is on, but I've been trying to finish up my first scrapbook, which I did Saturday night!!!! WOOT!!!! :yay: Can you guys believe only 4 more Mondays?!?!?!?!?!?!!? After a year and a half of waiting, it seems so surreal that it is so close. I can't wait to meet all of you!!!! You guys are so great!!!! It just makes me feel better to get on here and know that I'm not the only person who is a complete Disney nut!!!! :dance3:

Modifying? What ones are you going to do now? :confused3

We had to cancel our adult excursion (no not that kind) on St. Maarten. :( Our DS2 has been real clingy lately and cries profusely when we leave him in the child care area at the gym. He used to be okay but all of a sudden he has started pitching a fit. We were concerned that we would be able to leave him in Flounder's Reef during the daytime hours for the time that would be needed so we didn't want to risk the St. Maarten excursion and the $$$ involved. So we cancelled the excursion and moved the Flounder's Reef time to other days. Oh well, maybe next time when DS2 is a little older.

- Bill

Ok, I've got this ALL messed up. I'm off 12th holiday, 19th for TGiving and then work the 26. Oh well, only one more Monday no matter how it's sliced up! ;)

They're all sold out. :sad2:

I found some plain lime green t-shirts at Michaels. I think someone else mentioned being able to get them at AC Moore too.

Pood_Girl, did you have a nice birthday?

Yes I did!!! My parents came down and we all went out to eat and did some shopping (scrapbook supplies!! fun!!!) It's always nice to get to spend time with them since I don't get to see them very often. With work and everything else that goes on, it's hard to get to see them and they are only an hour away!!!
