Good Morning everyone. It is a beautiful day here in Chicagoland. I am so glad it was easy to catch up this morning. I may be able to save my job.:rotfl: I am feeling better and worked on my cruise binder last night. I took out the older Navigators and put in the Sept 1 ones. I see Rich Purpura was on the ship then. We have seen him a few times on DCL and we think he is very funny (and he is originaly from Chicago). Have a great day!

What do you put in your binder? I know Jennifer is super organized on intineraries and stuff but I would be curious as to what others do as well. Espcially since I got her a passporter and it has the ability to organize stuff like this. Thanks.

I hesitate to even say anything as this thread is supposed to be a happy place :hippie: and also since it was my beautiful, caring, and very tolerant wife  who made the initial comment, but I have to respectfully disagree with the clique statement. I think the people of this thread have been very welcoming to everyone and have truly embraced what a "meet" thread is all about. I felt like I was on the outside looking in for a while as work kept me from posting and Jennifer was very active on here, but as soon as things quieted down at work and I was able to post more, I was immediately made to feel a part of the "family". I am not a fan of politics in the office, home, or wherever, and I sincerely want to thank everyone for your open arms type of attitude and I cannot wait to meet you all in person! :goodvibes

Wow.. I TOTALLY agree with you on the whole "welcomed" I also do NOT believe in the "clique" We have been just as friendly to Newcomers as we have been to the "regulars". I made it my duty to make sure I said Hello to every newcomer who popped in.. Just so they would realize we welcome everyone here.. Even people who weren't booked on this cruise.. and I'm just overly friendly that way.

I for 1 also agreed with Jennifer about the song lyrics.. and the Nonesense posts in order to fight for a pirate: I kinda just past right through those and on to the posts that actually were a conversation..

Yes, I am guilty as well as going for a pirate: but.. I do believe every post I made was either an answer or a response to a question or a comment made on this thread.. I believe I kept my pirate: chasing posts down to a minimum..

But.... To each his own.. and everyone is entitled to their own opinion and their own decision..

and to you Bill personally.. It is nice to see a Man involved with us Chatty woman.. My DH would never, only because he can't type fast enough and I would be the one to type his answers.. :rolleyes1 It is refreshing to see we have 2 men with the "disney" excitment we all have..

Morning..

I have my plans all in a folder.. Reservation numbers, phone numbers, confirmations, emails, who I spoke to and when about what, the Secret Micky & fellow Dis'ers cabin list, the logo, etc etc

I have Navigators, Shopping In Paradise guides, all the menus, threads with good tips, such as St Thomas taxi fares, I still have all the excursions but now that we have booked ours I can remove some of those pages. I made a duplicate of mine for our friends who are cruising with us. I think I am scaring her with my over-planning. I aslo have the Castaway Cay map, CC tips. I have it divided in pre cruise, the cruise pages and in order by days, but I can't put the menus in the right days because I don't know what our rotation will be. I have all CC tip and the CC day, All St Thomas with St Thomas day, etc. Then I have our post cruise section. Hope this helps. We have the Passporter too.

I don't have a Passporter, but I do have a 3-ring binder with all of my vacation stuff in it. I have the printout of my DU reservations for two hotels and the cruise, and our assorted ADR's, and the confirmation for our campground reservation. I have the menus from the restaurants we plan to visit, and a few "spares" in case we change our minds. I have a printout of the page from the Disney website which shows my excursions, our Palo times and my manicure. I also have November and December calendar pages with park hours, ADR's, shows we want to see, and travel arrangements as they are made. I also have a sheet protector that has pre-printed return address labels for us (gotta love those freebies that come in the mail with requests for donations). I have copies of our passports and all of my debit card and bank information, and will be adding copies of our tickets and itineraries as we get them. And, in one of those zipper-pocket things, I have my DCL trip-planning video, and one from WDW. It will give me something to do on the train trip while I'm knitting!

I use this binder system every time I travel, and I've never had any problems, except last year when I lost my passport at Port Orleans French Quarter. It wasn't actually "lost", but had been left behind and housekeeping had picked it up almost immediately after we checked out. It was returned to me less than a week later through Lost and Found!

I felt very welcomed on this thread when I first signed on, and I've tried to be friendly to everyone. Sure, there's lots of extra "stuff" that goes through this thread, but it's easy enough to skip over it if I don't want to read it! I love the idea that I'll already have a whole bunch of people to talk to when I finally manage to get on board the ship! To each his own, however. Some people don't feel comfortable about sharing things over the internet and chatting with people who really are strangers. Some of us are just stranger than others;).

Now it's back to work for me. It's a good day to clean out my files and try to get a bit more organized, since I have one big project which I can't start until my boss gets back and it will have to be finished by the end of October.

Beth

I do this too. Guess what? It is all in a lime green folder!:rotfl:

Good Morning!

Coastgirl: I'd offer to try to help but - 1- I'm really not that tech savvy and probably wouldn't be much help anyway and - 2- I kinda, sorta tend to blow computery type things up lately. :rolleyes1 But it's great about the airfare! I love getting awesome deals on airfare. And London to Dublin for 5 pounds? Was that Ryanair? :rotfl: We went from London to Edinburgh for 15 pounds before. :thumbsup2

Speaking of airfare, I feel like I gave my credit card a workout yesterday. Booked the airfare, the precruise night hotel, and bought trip insurance all within about an hour. Which is probably why the dreams have begun.... Does that happen to anyone else? Last night's dream was showing up at the port and realizing I'd packed no formal or semi-formal wear or swimsuits! In the dream, I told DH it was because I figured he wouldn't want to do formal nights and we'd just eat at Topsiders those nights and because his swimsuit didn't fit him anymore. :lmao:

In the dream, we all also had to work for part of the cruise. Like... it was part of the deal to go. My job was being one of those people that help people on and off the tenders. :rotfl2: In any case, it was one of those dreams that you wake up from wide awake - even if you've only had 4 hours sleep. I see a nap in my future today.

Ok, I should be packing. Cruise, love the dream, that's so funny!

Yes, in fact it was Ryanair. BTDT?? ;) As I recall the taxes were a lot more than the actual fare.

ok so now.. onto the catch up...

Brack you HAVE a Lime Green tree... oooh do you have a picture?? :yay:

oh and the whole change 1 diaper and come home to a potty trained child must have been wonderful.. well at least only in the sense of not smelling the left overs.. Glad to see they didn't save & preserve the diapers for you until you returned :lmao:

Rbennett Vick's tissues.. I saw these in the store but with the Vick's throat drops I had in my hand already.. all I kept thinking was, My nose is stuffed enough, I don't need it to be sticky too.. But the smell of Vick's is such heaven.. :cloud9:

Beth Best Wishes and some :wizard: Pixie Dust for your DS & DIL to be blessed with the pitty patter of tiny feet in the near future.. :goodvibes

DH & I have 1 son, mine from a previous marraige, whom he adopted for his own, a year after we married.. We actively tried for 5 years and decided it just wasn't in the cards for us to have a Baby together.. So instead we have DCL & a New 2nd home next door to Disney :cloud9:

MrsMonk hmm.. a Booty Grabbing Pirate.. eh?? :lmao:

plutojudy your grand dog may be the future Pluto, glad he is trained in the 1 ear up posing position..

Cruise ok so the "Official" :welcome: is Now in order.. I am soooo glad you will be joining us in our madness.. :thumbsup2 Congrats!!! on booking with DCL & us.. DH & I are also 2 adults alone on this cruise, we have 2nd seating and if you like I can add you to the others so we can link together for dinner rotation if you'd be interested.. Also I will add you to the Secret Mickey Exchange..

Oh and the whole drive 20 minutes in 90 degreees for a Poopy Change.. :confused3 I would of been more morried to get the poopy in the car.. :rotfl2:

TxTaylor *Jennifer* Pleas don't leave us, unless you really do just need a Dis' break.. If so, you are always welcomed back with opened arms  and Congrats on the Cole staying Diapered overnight ;) now, let's see what happens for his Nap.. :lmao:

Jsmom2 Congrats on the DVC membership payment plan.. It sounds like you have it all thought out and planned.. Now you can start a notebook for DVC as well as DCL :woohoo:

mommyoftwinfants Congrats on the Bingo winners !!! Now you can buy more stuff !!

DH & I and some friends went to Atlantic City last night, the casinos, and played some 3 card.. and DH had 500 MORE dollars in his wallet then what he started with

:scared1:

Don't worry.. you can Buy a swimsuit and rent a Tux while on the ship.. and between ALL of us we should find some formal wear for you too...

I know I ALWAYS pack extras.. because from Past experience.. some days you put something on that you've worn before, but this time, it just doesn't feel right..

Last night, I changed my shirt 4 times before I decided to leave for the Casino & Rainforest Cafe :rolleyes1

If you are still reading this thread to see our Reaction to your post, I'm sorry you felt the need to leave our Group, however, we can't stop you from feeling unwelcomed, especially when we tried to include you in everything, even the pirate: sniping.

But.. have a wonerful cruise and we hope DCL is what you expect and more. Take Care.

DS went to a Viewing last night with our First Aid company of another First Aider who was DOA :guilty:

DS was in the attire for the First Aide but they all were wearing Black suit pants and DS only has Navy Blue.. He said he felt out of place, but at least he was there to show support to his fellow partners.

He has no school today or Monday so he did go with his Navy blue suit pants and uniform attire to the Funeral this morning and then to a Brunch afterwards..

I told him to look at the whole colored pants situation like this...

1. They are ALL older and don't grow inches per year and wouldn't have the need to buy a new suit every year like you would until you stop growing..

2. You are a cadet still until you are 18 so having Blue instead of Black, you just started your own fashion statement.. Next year we will get you Black..

3. You are there showing Respect & Support to your group by being there and that is the Main concept here.. who cares your pants are blue, not like you wore Jeans or Shorts

:goodvibes

Speaking of... I should make a list of the goodies I have and compare to the people on the list and see if I need more or have too much..

I apologize Stacy if this is a stupid  question or one that has already been answered, but what is First Aid? Thanks.

Well since I feel that part of this post was directed at me, I am going to bow out of this thread. It was all in good fun chasing Pirates. However, I am sorry that some feel that what I posted is distracting to read through. It makes me feel very unwelcome in a clique type of atmosphere.

I wish you all a great cruise, but we will definitely be doing our own thing on the ship. Best to everyone.

I'm sorry to hear this Amber. I did not think the post was directed at any one person. I think Jennifer was just having trouble keeping up and reading it all --- all of our posts. I will just say that not everyone has to participate at every level to still be part of the group. DrHug posts very infrequently and cannot read all the posts with his schedule and lack of internet access at work. So, when he has a few free hours he reads some of the recent posts and jumps in an has fun. That is what this board and DCL is all about. Having fun. We have made wonderful friends by being a part of the DIS community. Some of those are friends just for a time while we cruise with them, a few have become life long friends. Either way they are fun people that love Disney like we do and understand our passion. I plan to keep posting, keep playing like the kid I am inside, and keep making new friends to share my passion with. I hope you will all join me. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Now off my soapbox too.

Ok, anybody around who can help this am? Feeling like a techno-idiot. I have an MP3 player (Zen) and I'd love to download the DCL podcasts to watch on our (3 hr) drive today. But I can't seem to download those puppies. I have saved files, but none of them are recognized by my player. I MUST be doing something wrong; shouldn't this be easy?

Ok, going to shower, back in a bit to look for heeeeeeeeeelp!!

Sorry, I am a techno idiot! But I am sure that one of our friends here will help.
