Only a few pages to go thru this morning....thank goodness! Its nice to DIS while I'm having my coffee and sitting next to my GoLight. A great way to start the day!

Good Morning to everyone else when you wake up. :hippie:

So now that Disney has my money, the computer can do whatever it wants :rotfl:

Well, from my mouth to God's ears. Woke up from a nap this afternoon and found the blue screen of death. The computer is kaput again. The good news is that we always have at least 7 computers in the house at any given time and I can use this one for web surfing and email. But it won't play my game :sad1:

I'm thinking DH would not like to see the cost of a cruise plus a new gaming machine on one month's credit card bill, so a replacement will have to wait. Oh well... the cruise is better than killing dragons! :thumbsup2

Still haven't had a chance to catch up yet but I have some awesome news
I went to play bingo with my mom and she won $100 and I wond $500:banana:   :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

WOOT! That's an awful lot of Konk Koolers! Congrats

EDIT: Ok... so I just read the other responses to this... Disney money and spa money. I guess my response makes me the lush of the group. Which is ironic since I hardly ever drink. hehe But, you know, I do make exceptions for things like cruises. doot de dooooo....

Thank you!! I started keeping track of the pirates just to encourage people to post. After all it really is like pulling a slot machine handle when you get to those last few posts. And its fun when there are multiple people on at the time.

However, if the pirate thing is taking over the thread, then maybe we should stop keeping track? I'm much rather have my insomniac friend online than get a pirate:.

I also don't have time to sift thru 20 pages of posts at a time.

What does everyone think?

I'd be up for that. I get to the point where I'm just scrolling through pages quickly near a pirate and then realize later I've actually missed a comment on something cause I was scrolling too quickly.

But then, easy for me to say... I don't have any pirate: so I'm not in the running anyway :lmao:

Shhh, we won't tell him if you don't! :rolleyes1

I do the same thing! I'll talk about sailaway drinks etc. But when the time comes I just don't feel like drinking. :rotfl:

Exactly. I like to catch up on all the posts, because I don't want to miss a question or some important info. But its hard when there are so many.

Its easy for me to say to quit counting pirate: also, since I'm near the top. I don't want to ruin the fun for others.

:) Thank you for the info. I am leaning towards going for the best offer since we too now like to travel during the slower months and would have a decent chance of booking at a resort other than our home one. Thank you everybody for the information as well as your opinions. Now I need to pay some attention to the person on my other shoulder that isn't dressed in red holding a pitchfork. :) Good night (morning)!

If it doesn't feel right in your gut right now, it could be that the timing is just off.

This is how our 1st cruise on DCL came about....I sold 2 rental properties in 2001 and consequently had a HUGE tax bill in early 2002. Well in May of 2002 I made reservations for us to stay at Shades of Green for a week in May of 2003. We made the "mistake" of watching a DCL DVD and I started to think about adding a cruise on to the trip. I booked a cat 11 online that came to $2200 and was going to make a final decision before the final payment was due. That same day I got a refund check in the mail from the IRS with a letter saying I had overpaid my taxes. Guess how much the check was for????? Yup, $2200! I swear it was almost the exact amount of the cruise...to the penny!

I looked at the check and said, "the Lord wants me to take a cruise." :woohoo: :cheer2:

Wow! All caught up before I leave the house! That's amazing!

We chose this particular vacation on this particular cruise line b/c I was hoping for some grown up time!!
That's the exact reason we cruise Disney!

We don't drink much at all, if ever. However, on our back-to-back in Nov., 2005 we managed a $350 bar bill, all at Cove Cafe, and all in eight nights. I don't think we've spent that much TOTAL on drinks since then!

Well, it's off to work. I'll be alone in the office today--no boss, no secretaries, just me and my computer. I'll chat with you all later!

I would just like to make a statement and then get off my "soap box":

:surfweb: I have been on here the past few months getting to know some great people. I've enjoyed all our chats. However, lately it feels like this thread has been used to just build up the post count and get pirates. This is somewhat killing the joy of being on here for me. People come on to get pirates and then vanish. So, I am going to give the DISboards a break for awhile and will check back in occasionally to see what you're up to. I don't have the time or patience to read through ten pages a day of song lyrics and movie quotes. I am sure Bill will be on here, but I have to give it a break. I'll see you all onboard with my lime green shirt and a BIG smile. I can't wait to see you onboard. It is going to be a GREAT cruise!:cool1:

Well since I feel that part of this post was directed at me, I am going to bow out of this thread. It was all in good fun chasing Pirates. However, I am sorry that some feel that what I posted is distracting to read through. It makes me feel very unwelcome in a clique type of atmosphere.

I wish you all a great cruise, but we will definitely be doing our own thing on the ship. Best to everyone.

Ok, anybody around who can help this am? Feeling like a techno-idiot. I have an MP3 player (Zen) and I'd love to download the DCL podcasts to watch on our (3 hr) drive today. But I can't seem to download those puppies. I have saved files, but none of them are recognized by my player. I MUST be doing something wrong; shouldn't this be easy?

Ok, going to shower, back in a bit to look for heeeeeeeeeelp!!

Coastgirl: Wish I could help, but I think I'll probably be the last person on Earth to get an MP3 player. Even my technologically impaired DH and my 7 year old DGD have them! If no one helps you before I get home, I'll ask my son for his advice. Good luck!

Which format did you download them under? I believe the Zen would support the Windows format so I would make sure you don't have the ITunes version. Does the downloaded file play on your computer before you try to synch it with your player? Sorry for the questions...'tis the nature of troubleshooting. :)

I hesitate to even say anything as this thread is supposed to be a happy place :hippie: and also since it was my beautiful, caring, and very tolerant wife  who made the initial comment, but I have to respectfully disagree with the clique statement. I think the people of this thread have been very welcoming to everyone and have truly embraced what a "meet" thread is all about. I felt like I was on the outside looking in for a while as work kept me from posting and Jennifer was very active on here, but as soon as things quieted down at work and I was able to post more, I was immediately made to feel a part of the "family". I am not a fan of politics in the office, home, or wherever, and I sincerely want to thank everyone for your open arms type of attitude and I cannot wait to meet you all in person! :goodvibes

OMG! OMG! :cool1:

Thanks Jennifer, I'll have to get to it when I get back, but I WILL persevere!

Just got a SW sale email and got our airfare for $550 for 4 for PERFECT dates!! WOOHOO!! That's from Manchester, NH--we'll be driving about 10 hrs to get there, but a sale from our local airport would be over $2000. We had points tickets booked, but had to change them anyway when we re-booked for the 7 day, so we'll save our points for a summer trip.

WOOHOO!! THat is the BEST airfare I have ever had in my LIFE!
(Ok, I once flew from London to Dublin for five pounds...)

Now I've got to go post about the deal on the Canadian board.

Will check back in after our little weekend jaunt.

:jumping1:

Coastgirl: Congratulations on the airfare! That's awesome! We still don't have our transportation arranged. We're taking the train down. We love train travel and have the vacation time to allow for the overnight trip. "The Kids" are returning by train, but we haven't decided whether to stay an extra night at WDW and fly home or to take the train back. We have the night booked already, but it's room only so we can cancel if we decide to take the long way home!
