IIn order to take advantage of this service, guests will need to meet certain requirements and be booked on a domestic flight on one of the seven participating air carriers: AirTran Airways, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Northwest Airlines, or United Airlines/Ted.

No Southwest :sad2:

Oh well I quess I can move my own luggage for the $45 (plus taxes) one way fare from BWI to MCO and back. :thumbsup2

How about "5" pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

I was actually envisioning something a little more substantial ..... like an umbrella drink. If all of us GTY's chipped in 50 cents we could buy the winner a drink of their choice. For me it would be a latte at the Cove Cafe :coffee: but whatever. :thumbsup2

Thats why we paid extra :sad1: to fly AA, but a kind DIS'er did give me a code for 5% off though. We are not taking the strollers (our carryon holders) and just don't want to have to deal with the luggage and the boys.

OK everyone I think I will wait to finish the door magnet until late-November because I am going to have to redesign it because with all of the newbies the print is so small that you need a :magnify: to see what it says

I understand  People with children make a lot of choices based on what is good for the "little ones".

In January of 2009 we are going to cruise with our adopted grand daughter (and her parents) who will be 2 plus. I'm sure that our way of "Doing Disney" will be different then.
:rotfl:

I just hope that the boys are going to want to spend time with MOM and not want to stay in the club with their new friends.

was going to ask can you just walk around at Saint Maarten or if you want to see anything you have to take a taxi, we were just going to pick up some t-shirts and hang out on the beach until lunch then go back to the ship. We don't have passports so we don't want to take any chances of being left behind and the boys aren't old enough to do any of the excursions that seem interesting.

We just walked around St Maarten right near the dock area. It's not very far to a "Main Street" kinda thing where they have all the requisite tourist shops and stuff. I remember picking up some t-shirts and walking by the Guavaberry liquor store. Might have to actually buy some of that this time :)

Quoting myself... I just read a site that said St Maarten has a new docking area? This might change things. It says you can take a 20 minute walk by foot into downtown, or a water taxi right to the heart of downtown.

As I previously stated, that was a BIG plus for me on joining DVC. Last year, I was doing laundry the first day onboard because we had been to WDW the previous week. It will be nice knowing, I can pack half the items on future WDW trips and can do laundry while there. My poor washer and dryer has been going all day today. :laundy: Is the laundry facility for the Studios free? Meaning, do I have to put money in the machines? Also, do they provide the laundry detergent like they do in the other Villas? We get to stay in a Studio until DS2 turns 3. So, we plan to stay in one of those until we have to stay in a one-bedroom.

- Jennifer

Yes, the washers and dryers for the studios are free. You will need to bring your own detergent or buy it at a buck a box. I pack a few ziplock baggies with powder detergent (double bagged) in our luggage.

We rent movies from the "Red Box" for $1 a night per movie. It is located in the lobby of the McDonalds near our house. So my DW asked me to take one back.

Oh by the way she says "how about a hot fudge sundae made with chocolate ice cream?" OK. I get there and sure enough the poster says two for $2. It shows hot fudge with chocolate ice cream and caramel with vanilla ice cream. So I order these. The young girl tells me "we do not have chocolate ice cream." I say "the poster shows chocolate ice cream." "No" she says "it's just hot fudge topping." "No" I say "the poster shows chocolate ice cream with fudge topping." She turns to look at the poster then turns back to just stare at me. :confused3 Finally I say "I'll take them with vanilla then". She goes off to make them. :upsidedow

Hassling the help. :sad2: :lmao: :lmao: Poor thing. She only knows that they don't have any chocolate ice cream! ;)

The machines are free but not the detergent. We bring some of our own from home in a zip lock bag. For just the two of us we will only do a couple of loads so we don't need a lot of detergent.

:laundy:

 Maybe I should just keep reading before answering. I keep quoting Brack without quotes!

:tinker: The Taylor's October WDW & DVC Tour Trip Report

Tuesday (October 23, 2007):

We woke up planning on going to Cape Canaveral to see the space shuttle launch. But, no one was budging before 8 am that morning. We were all tired from the night before. We noticed the night before a note slipped under our door regarding a $100 gift card for attending an Open House. So, we planned to show that later to our Vacation Guide in hopes of getting another nice little gift. We had a quick breakfast in the room and checked out of the BCV. Then, we headed to the Wilderness Lodge to check it out before our meeting with our DVC Guide later that day. WL has DVC Villas there. We fell in love with the WL. It is a beautiful resort. We are staying there in December before the cruise and can't wait! A CM from the front desk took us over to the DVC Villas so we could see a room. Pictures do not do the rooms justice. From the pictures we saw it looked old, but in person it looked quaint.

After looking at the Villas, we had lunch at the Whispering Canyon Cafe. Bill and Jennifer munched on the skillet. It was gooooood. But, way too much food. We wouldn't get it again. DS7 and DD5 raced around the restaurant on pole horses with the other kids. They had fun! After lunch, we found the geyser and got to see it blow.

Then it was time to make our decision whether we were buying into the DVC or not. Our first choice would have been Beach Club Villas, but none were available at this time. So, we wanted to make the most of the current incentives and bonuses and went with the Animal Kingdom Villas knowing we could always stay at the BCV in the future too. The best of both worlds. We went to SSR and signed on the dotted line (many times) and are now DVC Members. We can't wait to take the kids to WDW and the other DVC properties. We look forward to many fun-filled family vacations in the future.:cool1:

But did you get the extra $100 gift?

The water taxi is not expensive and does take you right downtown. There is a beach right there too....but it did not look like a place I would want to hang out too much. Lots of "vendors" bothering you. We got approached, some rather aggressively, by people wanting us to do time share tours. :confused3 Ah, nope, I'm not spending my vacation time getting in a van and taking off to who knows where and how am I getting back if I don't buy????
