I know! It's v difficult to achieve (and feel comfortable with) a happy medium. I detested homework when my DS went to a day school - he resented both the intrusion and my insistence he get it done whilst I just thought it seemed way too much... :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

I hate being such a stickler about homework, but my DS definitely needs it. He has ADD so misses ALOT during the day, or needs that extra reinforcement. DD breezes right through so far. My parents were not that involved in my schooling, and I feel that if they had been, then I'd have done much better. They didn't care so I didn't care. My kids can hate the whole homework thing but I think someday they will thank me (OK who am I kidding  ), or at least know that I did all I could to help them succeed at school. I don't want them blaming me if they end up with crappy jobs. :rotfl2:

I'm sure they will thank you! You're doing a great job and your DS really benefits from your dedication... :goodvibes

Thank you! I'd hate to see where he'd be if we didn't work our buns off for him, because he's not doing too well. We are facing the possibility that he'll be repeating this year over, which will be horrible because he would then be a 9 year old 2nd grader, since we didn't start him in kindergarten until he was 6. And he's also taller than just about all the kids his age. At this point we are doing everything we know to do though, and his school and pediatrician are WONDERFUL doing everything they are able to do for him. It's tough. But on the flip side, he is a wonderful boy, and ironically very intelligent according to testing he had done last year. He just can't concentrate in school. If that's the worst thing that is happening then I'll take it!

No, we just hire all the necessary stuff as he's still a growing boy! ;) He dives every summer in Southern Spain so is all up-to-date with his accreditation. He's hoping to dive on the Mexican Riviera cruise in August too... :thumbsup2

You are awesome for letting him dive! It is an expensive hobby!!! When DS is old enough I'd like to get him into it. I need a dive buddy! DH is certified but we have never actually been diving together. He did it before I came along!

This is the group I cruised with in Oct (Konked Kruisers). Most of them are going again in Oct. 2009. Ironically I got a PM from one of the women just last night asking if I was going to go with them again. There is NO WAY we will be able to pass their post count. They have a bigger group already! Hey, #2 isnt bad. LOL

Abby,

Glad your sailing with us..............Please don't leave us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No kidding!!!!!!!!!! We easily can spend 1 1/2 hours a night on DS's, however recently his intervention teacher told us to stop spending so much time. If he gets it done he gets it done, if not then she said not to worry about it. We still spend an hour. And this is second grade. DD's ususally takes 30 minutes, and she is in kindergarten. I hate homework...................................

I know I hate the HW.. Hanna brought some home tonight and I said we'll do it tomorrow morning before Kinder....You'd never know I was a former teacher at that school...........,.........

But we aren't going to Tortola Ed, we are going to St. Maarten and St. Thomas............;) ;) ;)

Verandah Man, YOu sure you don't wnt to join us........................................???????????????????????????????????????????????

Being the Grey's, Desperate Housewives, and Private Practice junkie that I am, I am going through WITHDRAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me tooo!!! D.H. was AWESOME This weekend...................................................

Sounds like your doing everything that you can do and MORE!!!!!!!!! He is going to do Great in school and life thanks to the GREAT parents that he has.....

Oh know, I forgot America's Next Top Model and Amazing Race. :rotfl: I have been watching Real World since the first New York episode :rolleyes1 (I'm showing my age) it keeps getting crazier and crazier.

That first NY episode was the only one I was ever into. I think Beavis & Butthead came along right after that and took my attention (I'm showing my affection for adolescent humor!). Though the 3rd (??) season was okay too - remember Puck?!

Abby,

Never Kristin!! I kind of like you all..... :teeth:  Seriously though, I couldn't do my next cruise with another group. It wouldn't feel right. I can't wait to meet all of you! :grouphug:

Helloooo!!! Not too long and we'll be sipping Margaritas in Mexico... :beach:

BTW I'm still posting on there even if no one else is - just call me a natural born threadkiller... :surfweb: ;)

Hey you want to get the post count up on that one, we could post some there :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I actually printed ours out not too long ago and wrote everyone's first names and locations. It helped me from having to go back to page 1 whenever I wanted to reply to anyone, before remembering names. We've had the same mailman for several years and this whole time I've been calling him the wrong name! Just figured it out two weeks ago. Ironically his name is the same as my DH's. :rotfl: Anyway, I didn't want to accidentally call someone the wrong name, and look like an idiot! :rolleyes1 (I do a fine enough job as it is)

Don't feel bad.
I made a copy of the first page and have a document on my computer desktop,:rotfl2:
