06/24/2006 - Special Western Cruise - Who Else!?

ok, let's get this moved to p. 21

Hey, it is post #301 and we have 301 days left. that's a good omen, I think!! :goodvibes

oh wait a minute, I gotta make this guy dance too! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

On the DISboard DCL forum, there are some great suggestions for excursions..........in Costa Maya...........it's making me psyched for our trip!! :cool1:

It was mentioned on the main cruise board, but it is worth repeating! No passports needed 2006! Here is the information from the government website:

When will the Travel Initiative be implemented?

In the proposed implementation plan, which is subject to a period of initial public comment, the Initiative will be rolled out in phases, providing as much advance notice as possible to the affected public to enable them to meet the terms of the new guidelines. The proposed timeline will be as follows:

December 31, 2006 – Requirement applied to all air and sea travel to or from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda.
December 31, 2007 – Requirement extended to all land border crossings as well as air and sea travel.

I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!

Dan.

Dan,

Yes, it is so awesome. I know many are big passport advocates, but not me right now!!!

On one of the posts, someone mentioned that they called DCL and they said that they would not require them since the govt. was not.

I'm still up in the air about what to do in CM. I'd like to see what DCL ends up offering for excursions. I may go the "do a let's not plan this one" route.

I'm such a planner, maybe that would be a nice change to "fly by the seat of my pants". Maybe I'm just to tired right now. It's Friday night 11:30, just got home from a 16 hour day (football game night) and I need to unwind with a little dis board.

Prayers and pixie dust for those affected by the hurricane.

Ok, I just pulled us off of page 3, what, are we not excited anymore????? :earboy2:

What? not excited!!! Not me!!!

I have a bit of a problem however. I am very worried about the mental state that I will be in after the cruise. I check the boards a few times a day. I spend way to much time researching where we are going and answering questions.

I ask you... WHAT WILL BECOME OF ME?????? No cruise to plan. AHHHHH!!!!! I live to plan, especially my cruise.

Maybe I can win WWTBAM? the final prize is a cruise!!!!!

Breathe....just breathe...ok, I'm ok now!!!

Still soooo much to plan!!!

Where are some of those other cruisers? Are they sleeping? Hey! don't they know we only have 290 days to go?????

Well, seriously, anybody have any cool things to share? Any good hotel deals? Any exciting plans?

Is anyone else doing the rainforest? I'm still trying to decide on this one. I found out you have to wear a suit, what fun is that? ;)

No, I have not been partaking in konk koolers or my favorite cruise drink, kaluhacoladas. YUMMMMMMMY

Anyone else look forward to a certain drink? A kaluhacolada is a MUST for the sail away!!! Am I spelling kaluha right? It looks wrong....

I guess it must be time for bed. I'm getting goofy. Ok, I set myself up for that one!!! And I'm entertaining myself with really bad humor.

Are any of you getting nervous that I'm on your cruise?

Just chalk it up to being around teens. The mind has a tendency to crack at this time of year. It just gets back to normal after summer and then BAM, they're back!!!!! You know, that is why we teachers need breaks. Our brains start to get a little fuzzy

I must admit, they do keep us young and we do have a great group of kids in band. No more than 13 football games to go!!!! We're 1-1.

TTFN!!!!

Music Girl I love your enthusiasim!!!! Did I spell that even close to correctly?

We are getting ready for a little 4 night trip to the Riveria Maya outside of Cancun. We are going withOUT the kids! :teeth: So I have been working on that trip. The start of school is always a crazy time, I think I could have used a little more summer this year!! OK, I think that every year!

It seems like once the end of Aug hits everything just goes crazy, soccer, hockey, scouts, school. :earseek: That's ok though because as the days fly by in a rushed haze we are getting closer to our CRUISE!

Lorie,

I am EXCITED about the upcoming cruise  , but have lots of planning to do.

We have decided to stay at WDW for 2 nights at the Wilderness Lodge. Not doing parks, but may do a water park. My parents who are taking all of us on the cruise for their 50th anniversary, wanted to stay at WDW so they could eat at a few of the restaraunts at the resorts, and I am going to try and plan a fireworks cruise for the MK fireworks as a suprise.

Still watching airfares, trying to get ideas about excursions, and trying to talk my wife into a trip to the spa. Told her she needed to visit the spa to relax after a school year with high school students. You know all about the stress of the school year.

She is wanting a virgin strawberry pina colada which she fell in love with on our 4 day on the Wonder this past June.

I was in your town last week on business when you all received the rains from Katrina. Planning on visiting again in October to go to the zoo, a friend is trying to arrange a meeting with Jack Hanna at the zoo for my 8 year old son who wants to work at a zoo when he grows up.

Got to go because my wife wants me to help her grade Calculus tests. :teacher:

I have made no plans yet! I'm waiting to see what the DDs schedules will do to my plans! One should be graduating so that makes it tough to predict what she wants to do next summer! :sunny:

I am also a teacher! The year has started well.....let's hope it stays that way! :confused3

Jtjcwise, we are also going to be at DW before the cruise and are not going to the parks! We're staying at the BCV for three nights and are going to the water parks too. We just went this past April and saw everything, so decided on passing on the parks this time (although would kill to get into them still, but far too expensive with the cruise). Hey, I noticed your parents will be our next door neighbors! How cool. Have you ever stayed on this deck? If not, you will love it. Can I ask you, are your parents smokers? I'm hoping not, I'm really looking forward to this verandah for the first time. We stayed in your rooms last Spring, loved them. It was on the Wonder though. Have a great day!

Hello Everyone - I've been reading all of your posts. At first I wasn't sure which date we'd be sailing, but after this Hurricane season felt more comfortable with the 6/24 date. We are in cabin 2126 (last time we were in 2528 & it was ok except for disembarking morning where we heard the luggage being taken off the ship about 5 am!!) hopefully we won't have that problem again. Can't wait to go again, it will be myself (45) dh 50, ds 12 and dd 9. Looking forward to finding out more about the excursions - we're very much beach people. Checked into some airfare, almost booked thru travelocity - had a price of $761 for all 4 of us, but that's gone up since Hurricane Katrina - oh well, i really want to fly Jet Blue & waiting for their prices to come out - we will probably stay the WDW Swan or Dolphin - they are Starwood properties & I can use my Amex/Starwood points & get a night for free!

Regards to all,
Barbara

:wave2: Hi Barbara and a big welcome to you!! :) Its great you've joined our thread. Your plan sounds terrific and I hope you get great airline deals with Jetblue. We're flying Song and have our tickets. We'll be going down to DW on Wednesday of that week for a few days. So have fun and glad you joined us!

Yes, welcome Barbara, I hope you have fun with all the planning!! $761 for all 4 of you. that is (or was) a great price. That's how much we paid for the 3 of us!!!

Angie, your trip sounds awesome. No kids!!! ;)

jtjcwise-Nothing compared to the hurricane, but boy did we get alot of rain!! That is very cool about the zoo!!! Can you hook me up too!!! Make sure you check out the manatee exhibit.

I wonder how full the ship is at this time?

Hey newcomers............this should be a blast!! I saw a thread on the forum about the excursions at Costa Maya and THEY ALL LOOKED GOOD!! In addition, CC has added some fun excursions as well, I'm so psyched...!!! :cool1:

Welcome Barbara and family!

The last time I checked there were no cat 6 cabins left! I was thinking I might want to be further aft and on the other side but there were none to choose from! There were 5's though, so I know it was not sold out.

Is there any info anyone would like me to pick up in Mexico? We are not doing any tours, just sitting on the beach, but I know the resort offers them to all the usual places. Let me know if you want anything.

I haven't forgotten our magnets I just haven't had any time to work on them. I do still want to make them though! pirate:

Is anyone thinking of doing the stringray excursion on CC? I'm not real sure of stingrays being that close to me. I know they are safe, but it is a little creepy!!!

Disneycrazymom-you better get moving on those magnets-we are only 288 days out!! ;)

CM sounds like you may be able to do on your own pretty easily. I've read about Maj. Beach and Tapas Bar. I won't pretend on the spelling of these too! Here is a good discussion board about CM.
