04/27/11 DCL's WONDERful LA-VANCOUVER REPO ON THE WAY TO ALAKSA

Jackie, Yes, DCL has Baileys ... not sure about Frangelico. Remember, if you buy liquor on the cruise, the give it to you the night before debarkation. I am not sure how that will work for those on B2B (ie: will they hold it until 5/10 versus 5/3)? One thought ... will you be staying in LA or Disneyland prior to the REPO? If you will be in Disneyland, there are plenty of locations selling spirits.

On my B2B in Sept 09 they had flavoured vodka. I purchased it the last day on board, and since I was B2B they just let me carry it back to my cabin with me :thumbsup2 So...if you just want to hand it off to me I'd be happy to store it ;):rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The haunting drew me to the night Alcatraz tour. Unfortunately my wife drew me to a 10 AM tour!

It's funny - in one sense the time has flown, but so much has happened in that time frame! I was laid off, found another job, and am laid off again. My daughter has learned to drive and made me take her on a bunch of college tours, driving over 2,000 miles on one trip! Although she is still in high school, thanks to a program in Washington state she has been attending a community college and is on track to earn an associate degree simultaneous to her high school diploma. And I could list a thousand other things if I wanted to waste that much time!

On the bad news part I mentioned above, does anybody here know of a network administrator / system administrator job opening?

Too funny - we booked the night time Alcatraz tour.

I'll let you know if I hear anything for jobs - I'm a system admin myself.

Hillary, you can either change your or, wait till you get to the pier and just get blanks from the porters. Which I think is better, because there is other information on the tag and your bag may take the scenic trip arounf the decks before it gets to your new stateroom

thanks for the information. We are flying in on the 26th, staying at a DCL arranged hotel, then taking a Disney transfer to port. The problem is that when we board the DCL transfer we don't see our bags again at port. I will take a sharpie to the tags I guess. :confused3

OK....our flight leaves Rochester in just 9.5 hours...and we just finished packing...finally!! Now it's time to get to bed so we can rest up for the trip...

....but before I head to bed wanted to post and let everyone know that we're going to be trying to blog this trip like we did our last...anyone who wants to follow along can do it at:

Gydell, they will surely sell ponchos if we're going somewhere it's typically rainy. :thumbsup2

Yep, it was from a B2B cruiser that I heard of this trick! If you buy it earlier in the cruise they will deliver it to your room the last full day. So you just keep it in your room or put it in your tote if you are changing rooms.

Now, since the room I'm changing to is Kathpop's I guess I will just hand it off to her! :rotfl:

Since you are staying at a DCL arranged hotel, they should have a DCL guest desk for check-in at the hotel. They will make the new tags for you there and may even have the "official" ones for you

3. Does anyone know... we changed our stateroom 2 days ago. We went from 2519 to 1032. Our luggage tags say 2519. Should I just take a sharpie to them or watch the mail for new ones?

When DCL changed our room our TA sent me an email and said to just mark out the room number and write in the new number. See you real soon

Finally made it to disneyland! Wide awake since 2.00 am. Wonder how long this jet lag wil last?
See y'all soon!

Congrats on arriving safely! We're sitting in the airport right now.....so we'll be there in just a few hours. We land at LAX at 12:30....and even though I know that's actually like 8.5 hours away due to the time difference....we're telling ourselves we're only 4 hours from DisneyLand! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Air - I didn't buy air through Disney. I'm purchasing on my own, I'm just trying to work out the best way to return same-day on a Star Alliance carrier.

Re: luggage under the bed -- if you can't slide your suitcase right under the bed(s), just lift up the bedframe to scoot it under. The frames are really light.

Thanks for the information about a changed cabin and luggage tags. I just moved my cabin, too. :)

Quick check and all are doing well,

Saw a question about ponchos, I thought we were going north " OHHH CISCO!!!!" sorry a flashback to my youth, Well the Cisco Kids was a friend of mine.... OK I had a long day at work yesterday.

Anyway I digress , Rain ponchos and umbrellas can be procured at your local Dollar Store, and they are not that bad either.

Safe travels for those of you going out today. For those of us still working or not leaving until next week we can think about the fact that this time next week we will be getting ready to sail into the Gate and under the GG bridge!:cheer2:
Happy Easter everyone. Sue

"OH PANCHO!" I was sooooo in love Duncan Renaldo. Yes, girls get celebrety crushes at a VERY young age. The first big dissapointment of my young life was when we were going to see him in person and the car broke down or had a flat and we were not able to get there. :sad1:

Our family still ends many getogethers with "Adios, Amigos"

This was one of the very first TV shows shot in color!
