Thank you for reading my letter on this week's podcast. It came at the perfect time!

Being a volunteer with the PTA has its ups and downs. In the weeks before that podcast, we (the Executive Board of the PTA - aka volunteer Moms) had a lot of issues to deal with - so much politics, schedule juggling,bickering, etc. It made one want to rethink what they got themselves into!

Then, there I was - listening to the Jan. 18th show- and you reminded me of what makes volunteering all worth it! I'll remember the tears that sprang to my eyes as I stood in our school's copy room, opening up envelope after envelope and counting up all the little donations that came in for GKTW for our "Happy Birthday Mickey Mouse" event. It really was special!

Thanks for the reminder...I hope it inspired others to volunteer or donate toward this worthy cause. It certainly inspired me (and my PTA Board) to carry on....it is these events, these projects, these moments, that make all the rest seem not so bad!
