ª"˜˜ª¤.¸Team August 2013 Thread! (Part 2)¸.¤ª˜˜"ª&#9733

Someone asked about pics of the autograph books I did. Just can't remember if it was here or the Resort Changers thread, so I'm sharing both places. :-)

These were from DD's book. All the pics were taken from one trip since this will be her 2nd time to Disney.

Obviously, DS has been there more times. :-) It was really neat seeing him grow up with the characters!

These were examples of the extra pages in back for characters not pictured...

And this is our tentative itinerary I put together. :-) Then I have the days broken down as well with confirmation numbers, etc. The overview goes in my binder and mini planner to take to the parks. The daily sheets will go in the mini one too.

I hear you. Traveling with others always seems like a good idea and like it will be fun but then it turns out the other people have opinions lol.

Lol I was going to say the same thing! Even though our friends are only going to be there for a few days, I need to do the same thing and I'm hoping it doesn't cause too much conflict on our plans that have been made.

2 weeks 2 weeks 2 weeks!!!!

DH almost ruined the whole surprise yesterday though when he spilled that we were going on vacation. (The kids weren't even aware of that part yet, let alone whe we're going or for how long)

Did they question it?

Another opinion needed:

I am thinking about our travel day home. I've considered trying to get a breakfast ADR for 1900 Park Fare. We had dinner there last time. Anybody have any experiences with breakfast there? It is cheaper than other character breakfasts that don't require a park ticket, Cape May and Chef Mickey's. How is the food and variety? I tried to check availability on MDE, but they request that you call, which annoys me. I just want to know if it's an option.
Our other option is to head to DTD for some shopping before we head home. The downside of this is that the kids will have likely spent all of their spending money by then, I don't really need anything, and DD's room is such a mess that I need to get rid of things, not add more things to it. On the flip side, she is into My Little Ponies again, and I know she would have a ball filling a box in Once Upon a Toy.

We are doing 1900 PF on our last morning. We haven't been there in a number of years, but it was good when we went. I love the theme and the characters.

I noticed Le Cellier is no longer listed as not available for our Epcot day. I've been stalking MDE dining for a Via Napoli dinner spot. We have an ADR for Biergarten but have family coming with us now and they don't want to eat at Biergarten.....but nothing has opened up in the last couple weeks for Via Napoli so they might be out of luck.

How far in advance do you have to cancel your ADR?

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

You can cancel up until about 10pm the night before for a CC guarantee ADR, but I don't think Biergarten is a CC guarantee, so in that case you can cancel anytime.

Driving and parking in a Smartpark lot at JFK. Got a good deal, I think something like $13/day.

That is a great price. I think the long term lot is $18 a day now. Where is this lot and then is there a shuttle or are you near the air train?

Did any of you ever work for or dream of working for Disney? I ALWAYS wanted to work there even though my mom was a CM for the Dis Store and I know it isn't as magical as I like to imagine :)

I always wanted to be in charge of Space Mountain or Splash Mountain as a kid- "How many? Stand over there." LOL so lame!

I haven't given up the dream lol. I still have visions of retiring to Winter Garden and becoming a CM in about 25 years ;)

We're driving two hours to the airport, but using an outside shuttle service that had a coupon, so 7 days is only $36. AA pushed back our first flight by an hour so now we don't have to leave the house until 5 am! I'll have both my coffee mugs in the car (;

I wish they pushed mine in the right direction. They pushed our outbound later and our inbound earlier. Don't they know they are messing with my Disney time???

LOL! Well, I would have loved to have been a character at Disneyland.
The closest I got to that was working at Magic Mountain (in calif) as a character. That was my job for about three years while I was in college.
It's kinda funny though..I was going to school called Cal-Arts, which is an art school founded by Walt Disney that specialized in animation.
Which is what I was going there to learn.
So while I was there, I worked part time at magic mountain as a character. Playing mainly "bugs bunny", but also "Daffy", "sylvester", "Wiley". etc...
It was ALOT of fun! And there is definitely a magic to it all. :yay:

Of course I stopped with the character job when I finished school and got into my career as an animator. LOL! But it's something I still look back fondly on.

You are an animator? That is so cool. Can you tell us a bit about your job/career?

24 hours in advance or it's $10/person.

It will come to your TA and then they will either send it to you or, if you are local, will call you to pick it up.

QOTD: Now that we're getting closer how is everyone getting to the airport? Getting a ride, taking a shuttle, driving and parking your own car?

We are about 40 min from the airport although my Dh had made it in 30....

So we are driving. Our flight was originally at 7-7:30 (I think) so I was looking at hotels but now it leaves around 8-8:30 so I am content with sleeping in my own bed another night.

A hotel would only be about $10 cheaper then the airports main lot.

We live about 30 min from the airport, so DH will drop us off on his way to work (since he works near the airport)... However - I have no idea how we are getting home? :rotfl2: Does that really matter anyways? LOL

On a side note... Mickey Mail came for us yesterday!!!! :woohoo:

We are all getting sooo close!

Love the itinerary! Might have to create one and a picture schedule version for DS lol.

Couldn't find the pp. but I'm feeling the same way!! We are traveling with some family and I praying we all get to do the things we want!

Today's plans involve trying to narrow down our water bottle/snack/breakfast situation. I originally planned on a GG order for breakfast items, water bottles and some snacks.

The only downside to this on this trip was the split stay factor. I know guest services will move the stuff, but it's just one more thing to pack up.

Then the notice of the refrigerator situation. I got an email from my TA...Poly should be ok, not sure about BC. And we have 5 breakfast ADRs at this point. So I'm rethinking the breakfast aspect. And the more I think about it, the kids don't really need snacks with us, although its nice to have something. And that leaves the water situation. I can drink warm water but the rest of the crew is against it which becomes an issue after an hour with water bottles. And I don't like all that plastic. So, the point to this rambling is that I'm thinking about buying everyone a hydroflask since they get amazing reviews and buying a few gallons of water (do I need to order or do they have larger size water at the grab n go? Anyone know? Then I wonder about carrying them all day...ugh. What is everyone else doing? I know we can get water in the parks at CS but I'd like to have more with us.

Checking about FP+ later after DS gets on the bus for summer school.
