ª"˜˜ª¤.¸Team August 2013 Thread! (Part 2)¸.¤ª˜˜"ª&#9733

Well, this morning MDE on the computer is still all wonky for me. Only the CRT reservation out of all our dining reservations. And we have a lot since we're on the DxDP. No hotel reservations. None of the little profile settings like the character and my family's names. I guess I might have to call tech support again, but I don't think they helped the last time!

I think you should just do a split stay at a different resort every night! LOL

LOL. DH is adamant about staying in the same place...we may actually be back at the CR by the time all is said and done... :-)

MDE has shown our park tickets about 20% of the time, and I frequent the site often. I'm always surprised they are there when I do see them! Also that message about magic bands, ticket card or paper tix is gone again...back to "your tickets are included in your package" today.

Mine has never said anything about tickets- even the reservation emails each time I've made changes.....just our names and the dates.

I'm all about the crossbody bag for comfort but I guess it's individual. We carry a park bag on quiet days. If we want to get into the park quickly on a crowded day we skip it. Camera and KTTW cards go in cargo pockets and off we go.:)

I carry a Northface small backpack with the Camelback built in. It has just enough room for all of our stuff. I also fill the camelback up with ice then water. It will last most of the day and its like having an ice pack on all day, it keeps me cool.

Quick advice needed if anyone is around.

Here's the lowdown. We check out of CBR on Sunday Sept 1st. We don't really have plans that day, but we're going to go to a park of some sort. Crowd levels are predicted to be very high that day though.

That night we are staying at the Airport Marriott that I won on Priceline for $60.
Then Monday morning we fly home at 11 a.m.
By the time all is said and done, we'll be in our home around 4pm. School starts the next morning.

I just checked and Southwest has dropped their flight prices for the day before. So we could check out of CBR, hang around a bit, and take the 3pm flight. I would lose the Priceline reservation and the $60 but that's it.

I really think it would be better to get the kids home and settled in with an extra day before school, but it feels weird to shave a day off the vacation. I wouldn't be missing much because like I said it's supposed to be very busy, and we're staying at the airport that night.

I am leaning towards switching it but wanted some advice first and my husband doesn't care:rolleyes1
Thanks if you read all that.

ETA ) And I should add we'll be going back in December so it's not like I am taking a day off our only trip for the year.

:-) what are the odds that I'll run into you and your family at CR?? LOL. Should we start taking bets?

I might fly out the day earlier. We're cutting it pretty close with school, too. I think I would want a day to transition from Disney to school. Like you said, you'd be at the airport that night and you'll be back in a few months. That's just my 2¢.

Thank you. That's what I decided. But when I went to book there weren't enough seats at that price (I had originally just done a search for one). I don't really want to pay more and lose the hotel as now it will cost me $150 or more. I think I'll leave it alone and remember next time that I prefer a day to settle in.:)

I'm a teacher and I've done trips during spring break (flew down Friday after work and home the following Friday and also Sunday). As much as I want to stay in Disney for as long as humanely possible, having the day or two home to relax and get myself ready to go back to school is worth it. If I feel that way, I can only imagine how kids would feel lol

Sometimes the system decides for you, and that's OK, too.:goodvibes

Is it a significant drop? Like more than $60?? :-) I do think it's hard going right back into school after you get back. An extra day of recoup time might be good...

Lol.. isn't that the truth? When it came to paying more to come home earlier it was decided for me. Thank you everyone for your input though. My husband just said "Whatever you want" which is nice and all but doesn't help me make any decisions:rotfl:

As for those of you having all this trouble on the MDE website seeing extra tickets. I wonder if I am not having the same problem because I literally just linked all my information 2 days ago? So there is nothing old to show up for me as it never had any of my reservations at all until very recently?

I think if you are worried you should call and see what they can see on the Disney end. I do think it will be ok though because Disney won't be handing out extra tickets. That would cost them so they'll find a way to fix that.

I did see the FP+ section yesterday. Today all seems fine except for my 4:15am breakfast at the Crystal Palace! LOL. Thats a bit early for me!

Lol it's so nice when they say that, but when you really want their opinion, those are the most unhelpful words known to man lol

As far as MDE, I'm wondering if I haven't seen it because we are getting our tickets through someone else? And everything is there except for my Via Napoli reservation

We decided to come home on the first to give us a day to relax and organize for school. It also gives time to get groceries for lunches. Since you're going back in december you could take off the first. Any way you can just postpone the priceline investment to december?

And strangely enough, I, the Canadian that shouldn't even have access to the MDE site, am no longer having any problems and everything is correct:rolleyes:.:rotfl:

Not just you, I'm in NY and have had zero issues... I just realized I probably shouldn't have said that, now I may have jinxed myself!

Have to share a fun story. Now, I only have a son, so on our trips we've never done the princess meals or meet & greets. My sister is taking a trip with her 3 kids, leaving tomorrow and will be there for my nieces 5th birthday which is Tuesday. My sister has NO idea or desire to plan a trip, and I believe is only going to DW for 2 days, hanging at her resort for the rest of the week. I know my niece loves the princesses, particularly Ariel, so I recommended she have her babysitter take the boys on some rides while she gets in line to meet Ariel. I looked up where Ariel is and told her to do it early otherwise she'll be in a long line, etc, etc.

Then I asked her if she wanted to eat anywhere and should I make a reservation for her. She wasn't too concerned, but when I mentioned the character dining she said it would be great to get a breakfast reservation for Tuesday morning. I was skeptical that I would find anything, especially for 5, but I searched. Of course there was nothing for the restaurant in the castle, but there was 1900 PF, and Akershus. My niece is very scared of villains so I tried for Akershus, and must have been too late for the spot I chose because it didn't go through. Another time was available when I went back, so I picked that and the same thing -- didn't go through. I figured we were out of luck, so I went back again, and a new time was available. I chose it, yelled at my sister to bring her CC, typed things wrong TWICE, there should have been suspenseful danger movie music playing, I was in such a scramble! And finally it went through! My sister and I cheered and hugged, and I am so thrilled my adorable little niece will get to meet her princesses and even her favorite Ariel.

I don't know how easy it is to get a princess meal reservation for 5 three days before you want it, but that seemed like an incredible bit of luck to me! Just wanted to share. :goodvibes :cloud9: :woohoo:

How AWESOME for your niece!!:cool1::cheer2:
Akershus breakfast is a favorite of my DD15, and the picture with Belle is included with the price!!:thumbsup2

So until yesterday after the fateful Fastpass+ debacle that left me unable to access the new website, all my reservations on MDE appeared perfectly. They're all looking good on the app too. But now on the old website only my resort reservation appears, and whenever I try to add my dining reservations I get an error message. Should I worry or is everything probably fine?

I teach also and have three boys who are all in school...we ended up getting home last year with one day to spare and I had 1/2 a day to get my classroom ready!! LOL It was craziness but it all worked out and Disney is worth it. This year I gave myself a week back before school starts. We are also headed down for Teacher's Convention weekend, which will be crazy because we are driving down through the night!
