QOTD! (The benefits of waking up at 5:30 in the morning for no apparent reason lol)

What time is everyone landing in Orlando and what do you do for your first day?

I usually try to get one of the first flights out so this time we are leaving JFK at 7:30 and landing at 10:10. Hopefully, we'll be at Pop by 11-11:15. I don't usually make plans for the first day since you never know what can happen with flights. So once we are checked in, we get on whichever bus comes first (as long as its one of the parks easywdw has as a recommended park). On the 16th, it's MK, HS, or AK. We are going to AK the next day so we'll either be at MK or HS and then DTD for dinner :)
We leave Albany at 9:05am and arrive MCO at noon. It's a Saturday and a resort day for me and the kids. The Lovely people on this thread helped me find a Catholic church not far from Disney so my mom can attend mass that afternoon, thus we will have all day Sunday at MK.

Bleh. The exchange rate isn't as good right now as it has been for my last few trips. I was charged an extra $44 to make a $600 payment on my card. I still have $1300 to pay so another $88 or so. Somehow I forgot to figure this in to my trip totals. It's not a huge deal, and could absolutely be worse, but it's kind of annoying.

Yes, and on top of the exchange rate most credit cards charge at 2.5% fee to do the exchange! I had no idea about that until this year and $44 on $600 sounds like you were charged that extra 2.5% too. I did find a way around it though in case any of you fellow Canadians want to save a few dollars. Our trip is approx ~5000 so it does make a big difference!

I signed up for an Amazon.ca rewards card. It is from Chase and does not charge the 2.5%....and you get amazon reward points as a bonus. The card did come with an initially low limit, but I made a call and they upped the limit to $5K no problem. Now I use that card to pay all things Disney (and UO) and don't carry a balance. 2.5% is better in my pocket then the banks!

QOTD Calling Everybody! -lurkers too- Check in with your days left and excitement level :dance3: or :sad2:

44 days to go! Excitement level is through the roof now too! I had knee surgery last week, so glad I was able to get it done in time to fully recover (hopefully) before all the walking...on the downside I probably will not be able to get in "Disney shape" before we go, but at least I will be able to walk pain-free!

What time is everyone landing in Orlando and what do you do for your first day?

Great question!!
Our flight is out of buffalo at 9:30 and we land at about 11:20! We have already done online check in so I'm hoping we get in and out of check in ASAP so that we have time to tour the resort and maybe go for a little swim! We have an ADR at planet Hollywood at 5 and are doing the dessert party at 9! I think it will be a super magical first day! :D

What time is everyone landing in Orlando and what do you do for your first day?

We have an early flight too getting in at 10:30 am so after we check in, we are heading over to MK to check out the new Fantasyland. Not in any hurry to get tons done the first day...just taking it easy.

Just joining....we are new annual pass holders (as of this past Tuesday ) and are staying at Saratoga Springs and can't wait. This will make our 2nd trip to the world this year and 7th trip since 2009. We will also be returning again in November for the Wine and Dine 1/2 marathon. I guess we can be called official WDW addicts at this point. :)

You are arriving the same day we are!!! :cool1: WooHoo :cool1: Where are you staying?

We are staying at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. First time in a non Disney resort. I have heard good things though. How about you guys?

I would call and note your reservations but not do online check in. That way while you are standing there you can see what they have available and what they can do for you. Also... I did online check in today. My only request was Jamaica and when I hit submit I got an error message that none of my requests went through but everything else did:headache:. And there is no way to fix it. So now I'll have to cross my fingers and hope that noting it when I made the reservation was enough. So annoyed with that website.

I do not like the website either. When I did online check-in, the site froze on me 3 times. I had to keep starting over.

We also have the first flight out. I didn't want one quite that early, but originally we had a BOG ressie that evening, and I didn't want to miss it. I have since been able to change it to another day. Sorry, I got off topic. Anyway, we fly out of Rochester around 6:30AM and land in Orlando about 10:30AM. I think we are going to MK our first day. It will probably be an early night for us since our flight is so early. We don't have a usual first day. It changes each trip.

We are doing something different this year, arriving later. We get in right around 8 pm. This was the cheapest way to do it, even paying for the extra night in Disney. We'll probably just get our mugs, unpack and get a good nights rest so we can make rope drop the next morning.

Our flight leaves calgary at 6 am, we transfer in chicago and will arrive approx 5 pm orlando time at MCO... Sounds like a long day but factoring in time change not too bad!

We'll hope to check in and head to DTD for earl of sandwich for dinner then back to the resort to swim the night away!

We're doing US on the 17th!!

We're also taking the last non-stop out of Buffalo on Airtran. I thought I had to work that day.. I now don't. So if Airtran sends me another schedule change I will rebook with no fees to the first flight of the day. As it stands we arrive 6:00 p.m.
We'll pick up our luggage and the car and probably grab dinner somewhere close to the airport. Then we check into the Orlando Marriott. It's a decent hotel and I got for $60 on Priceline. When we wake up in the morning we'll head to Disney and check in for our one night at AoA.
Our first full day will be all about swimming and exploring the resort. We'll go to DTD for dinner and shopping.
The next day we move to CBR and our package starts.

BTW.. for anyone looking for a rental car, Dollar and Alamo rates are dropping and I just got a 9 day standard car for $206 with Alamo:cool1:
That's really a Full-Size though because Alamo doesn't have a standard aisle at MCO.

We have the first flight out as well :cool1: 6am flight, landing at MCO at 8:15am. Planning to do a leisurely day at AK (most relaxing park for us), then watching Wishes from the Poly beach with our snacks from the CL lounge - oh my gosh, I'm so excited

Our reservation has changed a little, if you want to switch us! Now 8/17 to 8/24...staying at POR instead of Beach Club.

Buying annual passes since we are going in November too and just talked DH into booking for spring break! Wooohooo!!!

We're at POR the same dates. We have DS10, DS6, and DD4. Maybe we'll see you there!

We'll be landing at 1pm so likely won't get to the resort until after 2pm. Our plan is to get settled in and then head to DTD and spend the evening at DisneyQuest, since we're both video game/arcade game fans.

What time is everyone landing in Orlando and what do you do for your first day?

We have a 7:30 flight from Love Field, which doesn't fly non-stop to MCO, so we have a stop somewhere in Alabama, but we don't change planes. So we should arrive in Orlando at 12:30. We are planning on going to MK.

QOTD! (The benefits of waking up at 5:30 in the morning for no apparent reason lol)

Our flight originally took off right at 7a from Boston and got us to MCO at 10:03. I got an email the other day that it had been moved back to 7:10a. PLEASE DONT WASTE MY TIME DELTA! Those 10 minutes are precious!
Last year we didnt have a direct flight and our first flight was delayed and we ended up having to stay in Atlanta overnight. I made sure to get a direct flight this year!

Our plan at this point is to go to HS once we get there, as it is the EasyWDW recommended park, and then I want to head to MK later. It is the only day of our trip that Jungle Cruise will be open and I need to ride it at least once!

What time is everyone landing in Orlando and what do you do for your first day?

My flight leaves Buffalo at 8:50am arriving at 11:21am. So hopefully I will be able to head right to AK that day after getting our tickets and what not. After that it's off to DTD for the evening with an ADR at T-Rex for 8 (I think)

What time is everyone landing in Orlando and what do you do for your first day?

We had a flight at 6am, but United changed it and it is now 6:35 AM. Our 2 hour layover is now under an hour . However, we should arrive in Orlando arround 5:30 PM (I am assuming we won't get to resort until 7PM). We will check in and see our room and then redeem our photopass +. Not sure if we will go to Epcot to do that or MK. I am thinking MK and then maybe do a few rides. Thinking the new Fantasyland stuff. It depends on how tired we all are from travelling. We may just try to eat at Beaches and Cream and head to bed to do RD early the next morning.

Changing it up this year. We usually take the first non-stop of the day but this year we land at MCO at 4:20 pm. Plan to check in, have some dinner, explore AoA, swim, unpack and get to bed early so we can make rope drop at MK the next day! Oh, and by the way, 50 days to go!!!

We are driving so I think we will get there sometime around 3. We will check in and head to DTD to pick up our APs and then head to MK or EPCOT. :cool1:

I see you will be attending MVMCP for the first time this year. We love it! The Christmas parade is our absolute favorite, and we love getting hot chocolate and cookies throughout the night. It is such an awesome event!

I am really excited to see Disney do Christmas! The party sounds amazing. And I can't wait to see the Osborne lights!

We're at POR the same dates. We have DS10, DS6, and DD4. Maybe we'll see you there!

We will definitely be hanging by the pool for late afternoon cool off sessions!

We leave St. John's at 5:00am! We will have to leave about 3:30am to go to airport. We fly to Halifax --> Toronto --> Orlando...arrive at 1:00pm. I am guessing we will head to POR and crash for a few hours, haha. We have a park ticket for that day as we figured maybe we will take advantage of the EMH that night.
