“IF THIS IS A DREAM, I DON’T WANT TO WAKE UP!” – POP! Goes The Solo Trip **THE END**

I have to admit that before I was a member of these boards, before I had gone back to Disney for the first time since 1991 when I was just 5, I couldn't keep it straight which parks were Disney. I mixed up Universal and MGM all the time, trying to remember my '91 trip! However as soon as we started planning a trip in 2007, I got me on the internets and found out what exactly was what!
Hehe cute blast from the past there!
Love that you had all the princesses all checked off, for a week at least! Now you just have another one to aim for!
Yummmmm! I love Disney chicken nuggets too!

I love that you love The Office and it makes appearances in your TR's :thumbsup2

"That is as close as I get to Small World." :rotfl: and while you are wearing the shirt, perfect.

The only thing that would make Disney chicken nuggets better is if they were Mickey shaped. Why aren't they? :confused3 I know they exist somewhere in Disney

:rotfl: The end of that chapter with Merida :rotfl: I feel your pain tho..

Ok....the young Rob pic....beyond cute!

We met up with Gaston in France in 2011 when Jeff was with us and Gaston kept telling him that his muscle's were bigger than Jeff's and that Shanleigh should run away with him....completely hilarious and Jeff played right along! Love face characters!

I love it! I do wish older characters were out more often.

People, I love Harry Potter as much as the next person but no. Just no. Kevin is perfect for that reaction! I love him.

That's really as close as you get to small world? But it's so fun! It is one of the rides I have to go on every time. My grandma & I loved it. Shall I take a video of it for you this weekend? ;)

I love Tiana! She is so fun. I wish Naveen was with her still. How nice of those squirrels to keep you entertained. Does she still always have a long line?

As for meeting Merida, there is just another reason to head back to the world!

AHHHH the walrus! How hilarious. Well at least Alice is from the same movie?... Heh?

Agreed, Disney chicken nuggets are hard to beat.

Yay Tiana!! I still haven't met her. :(

Sent from my iPod touch using DISBoards

So absolutely true that Fantasyland is the heartbeat of the Magic Kingdom!

Random characters! And the Walrus from Alice in Wonderland to boot?! I miss them so so much. We have old school pictures in Epcot with the Sheriff of Nottingham and such. Man, I miss it!

Harry Potter!? Sacrilege! Sadly, I have heard stupid chatter like that before. Like "where's that other Disney park, the one with the Harry Potter stuff?" For real people!? I have no tolerance for stupid, and yet it runs rampant!

Definitely eat at BoG the next time you go. It's not incredible food, but it's worth the visit for the ambience.

10 minutes for Peter Pan at 11:30? I knew it was a trick!

Day 3: KTTK

Looks like a beautiful day for your tour!

Bummer about the monorail fail.

:rotfl: about your trip into unknown territory! I feel your pain. I can't remember where, but on one of my trips to the ladies room at either Disney or Universal, I spotted urinals, so I knew I was in the wrong place! :scared1:

Thanks for all the tidbits from the tour. I would love to do this one day. Closest I have come to this type of thing was on my son's 8th grade class trip. Our Y.E.S class, Energy and Waves, got to go backstage (understage) at the Haunted Mansion to see how the ballroom scene was done. We had the warning about taking pictures, too and all of the kids I was chaperoning all warned me not to take out my camera.

Hey, what did you have to eat at CHH?

What a great afternoon! :woohoo: on finding a FP for Splash, for riding Space, Pirates and Splash again!

So did you actually like LeFou's brew more than butterbeer?

That is awesome that you finally met your favorite mermaid fin and all!

I once watched the MK fireworks (Nightastic) from the Poly beach. It was a really nice experience. Sorry that it was raining so hard. It was raining the night we had booked the dessert party and when we checked in we asked if the fireworks show was going to happen that night and a CM told me Wishes is never cancelled. The parade, yes. Tinkerbell's flight. But not Wishes. Does anyone know if that is true?

Nevertheless, your fireworks pictures from the parking lot/TTA are cool.

So we were actually at Disney while Stacey was filming the new promos! We didn't see her- I would have FREAKED!!!

Love the Splash Mountain pic with Ariel. :lmao:

Judging by everyone's trip reports I think I'm going to enjoy people watching as much as I'll enjoy the rides.

Okay, my apologies for this one, but I have no idea who the character is in the picture with young Rob...he looks adorable though!

HARRY POTTER?! None of that here! Yeah, a lot of people I know who haven't been to Orlando get the parks all mixed up.

A 10 minute wait at PP is pretty legendary, even if not entirely accurate.

DISNEY CHICKEN NUGGETS. Again, Disney takes an ordinary food and makes me love it 100x more.

Tiana is in my top 3 princesses, and I love meeting her. Merida is a great meet though! It's just hard because the line is always so long!

Haha, no worries Courtney, it's definitely not a common character. As many have already mentioned, it is indeed the Walrus from Alice in Wonderland stealing my stroller.

I know right!??? It's so frustrating.

It really would be that's for sure. But yeah, too bad it wasn't real.

Like seriously. They are SOOOO GOOOOOOD!

I really loved Tiana. I'm hoping for a Media meet some day hopefully after she's moved locations so the wait isn't so long.

Courtneybelle, I think it's the Walrus from wonderland :)

Disneykid, this update is so cool! Just what I needed, a little WDW pick me up, thanks!

I love the royal majesty makers! Is this a new thing? I've never heard of them, what time are they around - tell me more!

I'd love to know who this girl thought was Harry Potter  I do love those books and the films are great, but come on!

Eek this thread just gives me butterflies with each update. So long to go and yet I'm still so excited!

Yup, absolutely correct Elaine!!

Awww thank you and you're welcome!! :)

It is new since New Fantasyland opened. They come out I think a number of times each day. It's similar to how the Dapper Dans work for instance. I'm not sure of the exact times, but definitely multiple times through the day.

Haha, she was actually referring to Beast's Castle thinking it was Hogwarts. I mean, it looks nothing like Hogwarts and, you know, this is Disney World, not Universal.

Ahhh, your trip will be here before you know it. Oh, and before I forget.... Happy Belated Birthday!! :cake:

I don't know what it is either but I love those Disney chicken nuggets, they are the best!

I love wandering around the Magic Kingdom with no agenda, I really want to take more long trips to allow for that.

Tiana is on my list for my next trip, she's the only Princess I haven't met, I watched her movie on ABC family last week and it secured for me that I definitely have to meet her! I think Gaston will be on my list as well, I didn't get a chance to see him at all last trip and he sounds like a riot!

They really are!! I'm so glad people agree with me. I just LOVE them!

Totally Jess. It's heavenly not to be rushing from place to place. It's truly a whole different perspective.

Ahh you're gonna love her. She's so different from the other princesses. And Gaston really is a riot. He's exactly how you'd expect him to be. Totally conceited.

HAHAHAHAHA! Yeah, so true Rob! :lmao:

UGH! I get so frustrated with people when they combine Disney and Universal! Get it straight, people!

LOVE your shirt... also funny that you made the comment about having your chicken nuggets whilst looking down on iasw and how that's the closest you get to that ride! I have to admit that iasw is a ride I have to do every trip, but I'm usually set with just once. ;)

Bahaha, absolutely!! I've never seen that ride with a low wait.

Sing it sister!! It's a definite pet peeve of mine.

Ahh thanks! I forgot to talk a bit about that shirt. It is without a doubt the most popular shirt I have and I get multiple comments every time I wear it. The CM's especially love it as you'll see in a future update. I really wish I could ride it due to its classic-ness, but alas, I just can't.

Yes it is the Walrus from Alice in Wonderland. They use to have characters from most of the movies not just the select few that have all the merchandise!

Hi and thanks for chiming in and :welcome:. You are 100% correct! There used to be so many more and unique characters around.

Hi Rob! I've missed your TR updates while I was gone but it was awesome to come back and get caught up! You are my first TR to get caught up on. (I would have done it sooner but the klutz in me broke my ankle so there's my excuse!)

What no photo with Gaston?? He doesn't have anything on you with the ladies since who else would get Ariel with fins to ride with him on Splash? That was completely awesome to see her with you on that ride. I totally believe she was there! :yay: The Splash reference from the movie with Darryl Hannah makes this even more amusing!

Ahhhh now that I've taken the keys tour I will ALWAYS go left in the parks!! ha ha! And yeah, no bathrooms in Liberty Square... I think they are cheating when they say the washrooms in LTT and CHH are in another land... Hmmm...

Your Dream Along with Mickey photos are awesome. I watched that show about 6 or 7 times and have the song and narrative stuck in my head so it was funny to see you include some of those in your update. (It didn't help get the song out of my head mind you!!) Perfect timing with the pop of fireworks from the castle photo my friend!!!

When I saw your Alice photo it reminded me of your "scamp" comment about her. She's just so adorable!

Next I'm going back and re-reading your KTTK tour update since I want to see if they included other fun facts in your version. Do you recall who your tour guide was??

Like I said, this was thoroughly enjoyable getting caught up!!

BRENDA!!!!!!!!!!! Yay, so happy you're back! And I only say that because you were so missed, not that I'm happy you're trip is over. Of course, since you're heading back in the near future, I guess it's not all bad. And THANK YOU for this being the first catch-up for you. I am so deeply honoured. Honestly, that really made me smile, and I really needed a smile today. I saw on FB that you broke your ankle (so very sorry to read that), but at least you all got some awesome mustaches! ;)

Haha, no photo with Gaston. The line was quite long, and I just enjoyed watching his interactions with others. So entertaining. And yes, I loved my Splash ride with Ariel. I think that post was around the same time as your Ariel message on FB, so it was just perfect timing! Just loads of Ariel love.

Ahhh I'm so excited to hear about your Keys tour. Ha, yeah, it is kind of cheating, but I have to give credit for being that clever because it "technically" is true.

Aww Thank you. I just love that show. Haha, sorry for the song being stuck in your head, but it's a pretty awesome song. I so wanted to watch it loads, but sadly it didn't quite work out (which you'll see in a future update).

She really is adorable and she is the exact same one from the October trip that went running around Epcot. Good eye!

I am so looking forward to your report to compare and contrast. Our guide was Claire. I think you had someone different.

Aww, thank you as always Brenda!!

PPF with a 10 minute wait :rotfl: Never ever seen that ;)

Even though it wasn't real, it was still an amazing thing to see, that's for sure Mary. I have another amazing wait time coming up in a future update.

I KNEW there would be food in this one!! :thumbsup2 Your view from Pinocchio's was awesome, I really have to remember to eat there and watch over it's a small world!

The walrus picture is so cute, I wish he was still out greeting sometimes!

That must have felt AMAZING to have checked off all the princesses from your meet-and-greet list! ....until Merida was added....and then I assume you felt great anyway because you have a fabulous excuse to go back! ::yes::

Yes you did Suzi, yes you did! Oh for sure. It's pretty cool to overlook a ride while eating. Those tables do fill up usually, but the end I was one (near one of the doors) there was nobody.

Me too. There's so many characters that used to be out regularly, but now sadly, it seems to be the same ones everywhere. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Chip and Dale for instance, but they're everywhere.

Haha, I was so proud at the time. Then I get home and BAM, still missing one. But you're right, now I totally have an excuse to go back. :rolleyes1

Okay, little Rob & the Walrus is a GREAT picture!! :lmao:

I can't wait to meet Gaston... I'll have to think of something clever. He seems hilarious from all the TRs I've read where they have met him.

Maybe it's that fact that you're eating them in Disney World, but WDW chicken nuggets do, in fact, taste better than all others! They must feed the chickens pixie dust before making them into nuggets (I almost said chopping them into nuggets, but then it made me feel sad for the poor pixie dust eating chickens :sad1:).

We've never gotten to eat by the window to Small World, and I'd love to try that out this year with DS since he loves that ride. I'll have to bring some Windex wipes to get rid of other kids boogers off the glass first though. :rotfl2: Our go-to spot to eat there is upstairs!

Tiana is on my list of characters to meet this year, and she's a first for us. Being from NOLA, we all LOVE Princess & the Frog! And I think Tiana has the prettiest dress of all the princesses.

Bahaha, thanks! It is actually a scenario I truly remember since HE TOOK MY STROLLER!!!!

OMG he is SOOOO funny and conceited. I think if I meet him in the future, I'm going to tell him how much of an honour it must be for him to be in a picture with me. That would be my suggestion.

Haha, Maybe so. I really don’t know what it is, but they are SOOO GOOOOD! And believe me, I know my chicken nuggets.

Haha, I don't think I even knew there was an upstairs. Most of the window spots were occupied, but I went around the corner and there was nobody at all.

Oh you're going to love her ESPECIALLY being from there. She's really beautiful and sweet, but has that little bit of sass that makes her so unique.

HAHA, shame on you for mixing those things up Wendy!
Honestly there are a LOT of people that get MGM and Universal mixed up. My mother for one. I will admit that it's a bit more forgivable since they were similar and opened so close in time. But to call Beasts Castle "Harry Potter" is just unforgivable.

Baha, thanks!

I was SOOO CLOSE! And technically at the time I really had done it. But yes, it's not a bad thing to have it as a goal again. I just wish Medida's wait wasn't so long. Maybe I'll try it first thing in the morning. I think eventually she'll move and they'll put someone new there like they did with Rapunzel.

Yay, it's seems to be a general consensus that Disney nuggets are just flat out AWESOME!

OMG Meg, I am a HUGE Office fan. HUGE!!!! I actually had to wait a few days before I could even watch the finale (which I absolutely loved BTW). It was just so painful to say goodbye.

Bahaha, Mucho Thanks! Gotta represent. I wish I could do it, but I just can't.

Oh Wow, you know, I never ever thought of that but you're right. This must happen!! OMG I would die. Mickey shaped nuggets. I LOVE that idea!

Haha, thanks. It felt so good at the time though, like I had really accomplished something. I just hope they move Merida before the next trip so I don't have to wait in that long line. Maybe something with Fastpass. Or maybe they'll add her to the Fairytale Hall. I will get that photo though. This I swear!

Hi Jacquie. I don't remember you posting on this TR before so that earns you a :welcome:

That picture is one of my very favorites. You just don't get that kind of spontaneity anymore.

I totally forgot that Gaston used too come out in Epcot at times. Oh God I can totally see Gaston doing that too. Jeff does have some pretty good guns on him and I'm not surprised in the least that he played along. Now the question is... did Shan consider it? Oh wait, considering her prior namesake, she could really only reasonably run away with Aladdin.

Oh me too Jennifer. It's so hard to find the more obscure characters anymore.

No indeed. People like that need to be kicked out.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! I will have nightmares for sure. :scared1:
Seriously though (well I am serious but...) I so appreciate and love the message of Small World and its classic-ness. BUT, it's just soooo sloooooooow. Maybe if they added a 50 foot drop or something I might give it another try.

She was great. I'm not sure what the deal is with Naveen. He seems to come and go. The squirrels were awesome. I'm sure it was all just for my amusement. To be honest, I'm not sure how long her wait generally is. I didn't wait long and I don't think it gets really long. I just made sure to be there before she came out.

Exactly! I like your thinking Jennifer. It's already in the works (I hope).

AHHHH the walrus! How hilarious. Well at least Alice is from the same movie?... Heh?

Agreed, Disney chicken nuggets are hard to beat.

Yay Tiana!! I still haven't met her. :(

Sent from my iPod touch using DISBoards

Haha, absolutely. There used to be so many randoms back in the day. I guess truth be told there are quite a few Alice characters still around.

Right!!?? So yummmy.

Tiana is a truly awesome princess. Don't worry, she won't go away.

10 minutes for Peter Pan at 11:30? I knew it was a trick!

Abso-freakin'-lutely. :)

I really do miss it. In DL, you sometimes come across characters just roaming, but not so much in WDW. I guess because it's often the "once in a lifetime" trip for many at WDW, they have to keep things more structured. I am also so amazed how many folks correctly identified the Walrus. Ahh I totally miss the old Robin Hood characters too. I was so jealous when they were out for Long Lost Friends week.

Seriously and AMEN!!! To actually mistake Beast's Castle for Hogwarts is just... well stupid.

That's what I’ve heard, that it's all about the ambiance. I really need to see inside that place.

Bahaha, for folks like us Disney crazed loonies, it was just one of those see it to believe it moments. Others just wouldn't get the significance. Haha, too bad it wasn't real. I have another one coming up in a future update.

So we were actually at Disney while Stacey was filming the new promos! We didn't see her- I would have FREAKED!!!

Haha, a comment with titles. :thumbsup2

It was a beautiful Day Dee. Not too hot, just perfect.

OMG, I was bummed too. But I knew I would get on it at some point so not a deal breaker.

Bahaha, one of my finest moments for sure.

Oh you really should, I can't recommend it any more highly. For DISers, I really don't think any magic is ruined in any way. I think they do the Haunted Mansion backstage on the Marceline to Magic Kingdom Tour. And believe me, it was all I could do not to take backstage photos. Not to break the rules, just pure habit.

Ooh, I had the fish and chicken nuggets combo. It's one of my favourite meals in all of WDW. Why choose when you can have both?

Ahhh it was so great. Especially the "bonus" FP.

Hmmm, boy that's a tough one. Both are so outstanding that I'd hate to choose one over the other. I'd probably have to be having both at the same time to choose because I'd probably always choose the one I was currently drinking.

Ahhhhh, one of the true trip highlights and such a long time coming. There is nothing like meeting Ariel in fin.

I was so looking forward to it too. I think the CM is correct in that it would take some EXTREMELY severe weather to cancel the fireworks. I mean, it was pretty awful that night, and yet they did happen.

Hahaha, thanks. At least that one is now off the list.

OMG, I probably would have been arrested if I saw her in person. :rotfl2: I'm a little smitten... :rolleyes1

Love the Splash Mountain pic with Ariel. :lmao:

Judging by everyone's trip reports I think I'm going to enjoy people watching as much as I'll enjoy the rides.

Ahhh thank you. You are a true believer!!

Oh my, it is absolutely one of the highlights of any trip. There are some really unique people in Disney at any given time, that's for sure.

Ahhh, your trip will be here before you know it. Oh, and before I forget.... Happy Belated Birthday!! :cake:

Oh thanks! For the birthday wishes and the majesty maker info - but wow that someone thought to say happy birthday! You're my new best bud ;)

And nooooo - Cinderella Castle mistaken for Hogwarts?! That's an insult to both worlds!

I have really enjoyed your TR so far. Very well done. Can't wait for more updates. Good job!

Oh thanks! For the birthday wishes and the majesty maker info - but wow that someone thought to say happy birthday! You're my new best bud ;)

And nooooo - Cinderella Castle mistaken for Hogwarts?! That's an insult to both worlds!

Oh Elaine it was my pleasure. I told you I was checking out the blog and just happened to read about a very un-birthday.
.
And OOH, a best bud in London. Now that is super cool! Just made my day. :goodvibes

I have really enjoyed your TR so far. Very well done. Can't wait for more updates. Good job!

Thank you so very much for your kind words. It's a pleasure to :welcome: you.

I don't think I've ever seen that burial lay-away sign at BTMRR before, very funny.

Yeah, it's a shame that "Song of the South" is too politically incorrect to be shown anymore. I told my kids all of the Br'er Rabbit stories that I can remember from the movie, particularly, "...whatever you do, don't throw me into that briar patch!"

Impressive friend you made on the Splash ride.

I agree with you, nothing beats the spontaneous character meets and other pixie dust events like that. pixiedust:

Haven't posted in a while but still reading along :thumbsup2

Harry Potter? :confused3 That's right up there with the ever popular " I thought we were going to Disney. I didn't want to come to Epcot! " :rotfl2: A comment we heard on our trip.
