    Hello,

I posted this under another thread to no avail - hoping someone might be able to help me out. I have read in several other posts people indicating that they could not get a reservation for two people for the Wishes Dessert Party, but were able to get one for a party of three; booking two adult and one child under 2 yo. I was wondering if anyone has done this and if it was an issue when you arrived for check in. Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Jennifer

I cannot answer the first part about reservations for 2 vs 3. I can definitely tell you that no body cares if you make a reservation for 3 and only 2 show. This is because you have to pay in full at the time you make your reservation. I made my reservation yesterday and they charged my credit card at that time. It was about $104 for 4 people. They were very very specific about the fact that you will be charged show or no show. Disney is taking no shows very seriously now. Evidenced by the new reservation policy coming later oct.

    Hi
I had a reservation for 2, DH and myself in May. Also I'll be there in a month and I have reservations for my future daughter in law and myself for Nov 17, so it's just the two of us. I booked it online on Sept 6th for Nov 17th.

I just did this myself. I hope it works! The computer let me in with 2 adults and one child 0-2 yrs. But I'll only be showing up with 2 adults :) Wish me luck?

Hi! I had this problem for our trip in Sept. I couldn't get a reservation for 2, so I booked 2 adults & 1 child under 2. No charge for the child under 2, so my credit card was only charged for the 2 adults. Several weeks later, I called & said I needed to change the reservation to cancel the child. The agent modified the reservation with no problem. I didn't see any way to do this online, so I did have to call. But we had no problem: on arrival, our table was for 2 & that's what we needed & paid for.

    Have a great trip!!

Children under three are not charged. Therefore I think what they want to know is if there will be repercussions for adding a fictional infant to their reservation, as they can get a reservation for three but not for two.

This seems on the outside of reservation ethics but I'm not aware that there is an official penalty for booking with an "unpaid" infant on a prepaid reservation, and then the infant doesn't show up. They want to know if they will be questioned when they appear for their reservation for three without the infant. Personally I tend to think they should be, unless they call later (and you have to call, you can't modify the reservation online) and remove the infant from the reservation.

Good luck! I was riddled with guilt about the fictitious child and called the reservations line and the agent was able to modify the reservation with absolutely no problem. I had read that others were not able to do this, but was glad I tried on my own.

Thanks for the info I was able to do this yesterday but forgot to post an update! Really seems that the reservation process for this party needs to be improved!

Does anyone have any recent experience with this? I'm trying to book this party for 2 people, but can only find availability for 2 people. I don't want to do anything unethical, but this is frustrating. Have any of you run into this issue recently?

I needed a table for two but could only find availability for three. I booked and paid for 3 knowing there would only be 2.

Honestly, it never crossed my mind that it may be unethical because paid for 3. Booking for 3 knowing there would be 2 at a place where I didn't have to pre-pay would be another story.

Well, you paid for three. That doesn't sound unethical except that the third spot is now blocked from someone else using it.

If I were you I would call and remove the third person from the reservation and get the money back for that, and open up that space in case somebody wants it.

The thread was about adding a "phantom infant" to book for three, since infants aren't charged, and then showing up sans infant (of course, since the infant never existed.) Of course, that infant is still counted as a person, so it may block someone else from having a shot at the event. Maybe it's better to remove the extra person, if it can be done (pretty sure a CM on the phone should be able to do it.)
