I thought I'd put this up to try and help anyone else who finds themselves in the same boat (or plane as the case may be). As many of you long time transportation board posters know, my family tends to have a rather colorful travel history. Much of that stems from the fact that for years, we've had to fly during President's week, which is one of the busiest travel times in the northeast.
Well, now DS is in college, and we are not tied to the school calendar. Of course, he's a bit put out we're going without him, but that's another story.
We fly out tomorrow at 8:45am from Boston to Tampa on JetBlue. Now, yesterday, the flight we're booked on was cancelled. Not surprising as we got about 10" of snow throughout the day yesterday.
However....today, that flight was also cancelled. However, the flight before it (6:00am) did go. Hmmmmm. I've already checked us in for our flight tomorrow, and I did call JetBlue customer service to see if anything was up, but was told everything should be on schedule tomorrow. So now, I'll start keeping an eye on things, and if they start cancelling more, will call again, and see if there's anything to be done.
I think the thing that will work in our favor is that we're not flying during vacation week. However, with flights flying virtually full, all the time, space to get rebooked is always at a premium.
Stay tuned, fellow DISers.
