Going to Universal Orlando in a few days and was wondering if I would have any trouble fitting on any if the rides especially the Harry Potter rides. I’m 5’10, 285 pounds and i’ve heard that some rides can be tricky so wanted to see what anyone on this site thought,
Thanks for any advice or comments!

There was actually a thread about this recently. If I could figure out how to link it, I would.

But that's a tough thing to answer. It's more about body shape then anything.

There are tester seats. I'm a really big dude and it's shocking what I fit on when I see people I'd consider smaller than me walking away.

Try the tester seats and you'll know for sure.

At 2 inches taller, but your weight, I carry it mostly in my thighs and rear end, I had trouble on Gringotts. Because they lock my legs in so I couldn't wiggle around and make it work. I was fine on Hogwarts. I haven't been since Hagrid's opened. Like Haystack said, tester seats. I was told at the Hogwarts ride by the staff outside that the tester outside wasn't calibrated correctly but the one halfway through the line was. That would have been awful to wait in that line and find out halfway through that there was a problem. Lucky for me I was a single rider so I just walked right to it. (Also lucky for me I didn't have trouble with that one.)
I didn't ride any other rides at Universal because for me, Universal is just what I walk through to get to HP.

There is an"Everything Pooh Sized" thread for WDW, but it doesn't cover Universal so much.

Pammie Plus Parks on YouTube has some good information

I was 5'4'' and 240 pounds and fit on Mummy, Forbidden Journey, Gringotts also Jurassic Park and Flight of the Hippogriff (although I felt bad sharing a restraint with my 40 pound son)
I didn't try Ripsaw Falls, Hulk, or Rip Ride Rocket (not interested)
Haven't tried Hagrid's yet

It will matter how you carry your weight depending on the ride.

The tester seats are a huge help and the CMs are very helpful as well. The only iffy one that I tried was Forbidden Journey and the harness would not go down far enough. No big deal, I went through the queue with my son and he rode while I waited. I am 5'6 about 290. Didn't try the other questionable rides because my son was not interested.. I had a hard time with the seatbelt at the Jimmy Fallon ride and the Despicable me ride smashed my insides (ugh) but I managed... Fast & Furious, Skull Island, Spiderman no issues at all...

My boyfriend can have trouble at other parks but had no problems at Universal, anywhere, including RRR. Which is weird because I keep hearing that the opposite is true. 🤷‍♀️ I'm not sure of his exact weight, but that doesn't really matter in cases like this. He's about 5' 10" and carries all of his extra weight in his belly. He's at a 40" waist. And again.... no problems at all.
