Who is your wireless provider and are you happy with them?

We currently have Verizon and IMOP their charges are getting ridiculous.

I would love to have internet but I'm not paying $30.00 a month on top of the inflated bill we already have.

Just got the bill yesterday and there was a charge for $50.00 for data. I have to call them Monday but I don't even know what that could be for.

I was looking at Sprint. $69.99 for everything. I'm sure there are hidden costs somewhere but we pay more than that for verizon for just basic phone.

So who do you have for wireless and are u happy?

I have Verizon. I've priced a few other phone companies and while they look good on paper I am not willing to switch. The big thing for me is coverage as my DH works out in the middle of nowhere and only Verizon has enough antennas to reach out where he is. The other factor was in 2004 when Florida got hit by all of the hurricanes. We lost power for 2 weeks and my neighbors kept asking to borrow my phone since they couldn't get signals on theirs. Verizon costs more but to me and my experience it is well worth it.

I have been with Cingular/AT&T for about 12 years and have always been pleased with the reception areas and the price. I have 3 phones on a family talk plan of 1200 minutes....you can now pick 10 favorite people and it does not use your minutes to call them..all AT&T Wireless calls are free calls..I also have rollover minutes... I have never gone over on my monthly usage cause I normally call the same folks and now have over 10000 rollover minutes. (1200 is the lowest minute package for the top 10) Bill runs about $90 a month - I forgot that I also pay for a monthly block of text messages that is included in that $90. My husband travels quite a bit all over the US and he has never had a problem with picking up a signal....I did make a call to the US from Nassau once and it was kinda pricey but I expected that........

hi!! we have ATT, love the roll over minutes and the free nights and weekends!! We do not use the internet or send text messages in my household........, but that is another story......We pay $60.00 monthly with military discount!!! Hope that helps

I currently have 2 phones of my own... Verizon which is a part of a 4 phone family plan but no texting or internet (that has all been blocked)
I have an individual phone from sprint w/ the everything data plan. I love my sprint line and can't wait until our family plan is up so I can switch everyone over to Sprint.
my first cell phone was with Cell One (1993) which was bought by Cingular then at&t. I was not really happy w/ AT&T so we switched to verizon which has not thrilled me either. no matter who you pick I think you'll find pros and cons to each... it boils down to which works best for you.
Good Luck...I agonize over decisions like yours...:)

not much help to you as we have Verizon as well, basics, no internet etc.
As afr as being happy w/thme for our needs, yes, but I agree, the rates for their bells and whistle atuff are kinda high.

and be sure to check for discounts...
verizon gave us a 20% discount since DH works for a co that has a corp acct w/ them... our no was not linked to the business, but it was a courtesy discount for co employees.
sprint did the same thing only their discount was 25%. I got that off of the everything data plan. and it is off of each line where verizon's disc is only off of the main number.

We have coverage with AT&T and I'm quite pleased, other than coverage is sometimes spotty in rural areas of my home state.
We pay about $130/month for 2 iphones with unlimited data and unlimited text + 1 regular phone with unlimited texts, shared 1200 minutes between us - like the others have said - free nights/weekends, free calls to AT&T customers, rollover minutes. Seems pretty reasonable to me.

I have Verizon and I have them! Before Ihad Altell and my bill was $127.00 a month. Since verizon took over my bill is $256:scared1: I made NO changes to my plan. I will be getting a new wireless carrier.

I used Verizon for years and just got tired of the ridiculous rate hikes. I switched to Page Plus cellular. They use the Verizon network so the coverage is excellent and I pay $29 including tax per month for 1200 minute and 1200 texts plus 50 Mb data. They have an unlimited plan that’s a $10 more. I love it.

We have AT&T and the price and rural coverage is fine but I do get some dropped calls in the city. I'm not sure if that's a common problem or not though.

Verizon here too!! We get a discount too and we would not switch b/c then we would not have service where we live. We know for a fact that AT&T and Sprint do not work in our area so for us we really dont have any other option.
Plus we just got the MiFi at verizon and I do not want to go back to dial up.:scared1:

I've been with US Cellular for almost 7 yers and I'm pretty happy with them. I've been in some pretty remote places and have been able to get service. My bill for me, DH, & DS14 runs about $115/mo. includung taxes/fees. We share 1000 minutes with national coverage so no roaming, we get free incoming calls & incoming texts, free nights starting at 7pm, free weekends, and we each get 250 outgoing texts. I had Verizon previously and I wasn't happy with their service.

I drive through your area once a month and in 3 yrs have never had any issues with Sprint. Just thought Id let you know :confused3 My GPS through Sprint works fine through there as well. The only place I have ever lost signal in VA with sprint was on I81 near Wytheville.

Another happy Sprint customer. I get a 25% courtesy discount through my employer (I could get 20% off Verizon and ATT also). I have a fairly old family plan and only pay $84/month for 4 phones, shared 550 minutes, text messaging on 3 of the phones. Free nights (6 pm) and weekends. Like I said - it's an old plan.

But Sprint just started a new thing when I upgraded my phone. The longer you are with them - the amount you would have to pay to get out of your contract goes down. The amount goes down every month. So say you started with $175 to get out of your contract, after a year it goes down to say $100 (these aren't actual figures, just examples).

I have found their customer service to be wonderful.

This exactly. During and after the hurricanes we were also the only ones in the neighborhood with service. It was only two bars most of the time but no one else had service. Dh and I wouldn't switch for anything.

We switched from ATT/Cingular about 4 years ago and love them. The service is great and I can't remember ever being in an area that I wasn't able to get a signal. I've even been in elevator and casinos where I got a signal but never could when we had ATT.

We have a family plan with 5 phones. The plan has 1000 minutes and the store gave us an extra 250 each month as a perk. We never use anywhere close to that amount so I'm thinking of calling and seeing if we can lower the plan.

For example, our plan used a total of 3,101 minutes last month but only 341 of those were actual billed minutes. The rest were either incoming, cell-cell or night/weekend. We had close to 2,000 total text messages as well.

We have unlimited text and picture messages, mobile internet, free cell to cell calls and everything that comes in (calls, pictures, messages...) is free. We also have free nights and weekends (nights start at 7pm for us but some other providers start at 9pm so be sure to check that out if it's important to you).

Our plan is $148.99 + tax and we get a $10.00 discount because DH is a union member making the total $172.73. Again, this is for 5 phones so it comes to about $35 a phone.

I should add that we don't have fancy phones. We chose to go with the free phones when we first started with them. Last year we were able to get new phones for free again(I think that it's every 18 months). Four of us chose the free phone that they were offering (Samsung 2-step) and my DD chose a LG Banter.

I have Virgin Mobile pay as you go. They have different types of plans. I have the 200 mis per month for 20.00 and the minutes roll over. They have texting for 5.00 per month and internet for 5 to 20 dollars per month, depending on what you want. They save me a ton of money. Go to their website and check out what they have to offer. They even have unlimited plans .

I actually live about 45 miles east of Richmond... in a very rural area. My Dad has a sprint phone and it does not work at my house. My husband work used the toughbooks with internet on them and they used Sprint for wireless and it doesnt work here either unless he stands on our porch and puts it on the roof. I dont like to put my real area on things... plus Im a richmond girl at heart. Yes it is great for Sprint.
Thank you for trying to be helpful tho.
