Who is going in august/when/where

I just booked PPH from Aug.5th thru Aug. 9th. We were supposed to go the week of June 18th at VGC but my dear wife of 30 years was battling adrenal cancer and unfortunatly lost her fight on July 7th. She loved our many trips to Disneyland with our four children and was so excited when we joined DVC about 5 years ago. I know it is going to be a very difficult trip for my daughter and myself because of all the unbelievable memories we have of our many visits over the past 15 years. My heart aches just writing this. I miss you so much Gayle.

I can officially join this thread now that I booked my plane ticket and hotel!

My friend moved to San Francisco a few years ago and invited me to visit...naturally this former WDW CM couldn't take a trip to Cali without checking out Disneyland, so I am taking a quick solo trip to Disneyland before I meet up with my friend!

Staying at the Carousel Inn August 20-23. This will be my first time at Disneyland and I can't wait! As a former WDW CM, I've been there more times than I can count but never to DL.

If anyone else on this thread happens to be traveling alone during the same dates as me and wants to make a new friend I am open to that! I'm 23, really friendly, and LOVE Disney. I'm from Massachusetts and I don't really know anyone who lives in LA, so having someone to hang out with for a part of the 3 days I'm at DL alone would be awesome!

I also wondering what is the best entrance for early morning entrance day for california adventure...the main gate or Grand entrance anyone know?

Hi Everyone,
We are now booked Aug. 13 - 15 at the PPH. It will me myself and 3 daughters. DH (always the unlucky bug) has jury duty and it is for a grand jury, so he may or may not be able to join us.
Trying to get a plan going. We'll have the Extra Magic Hour all 3 days at the parks so I'm trying to come up with a plan. Kids want to leave our house before the crack of dawn the first day to make it to the hotel, check in, and be at security by 6:15am. Pulled this off last year so I feel it's doable again. I feel pretty confident that we know what we're doing for an early entry into DL (order of rides and FP collection etc), but I'm a bit shaky on a solid plan for DCA. So I remember reading somewhere that its best to enter DCA at the main gate for EMH instead of thru the Grands entrance. Is there a particular gate or whats the deal?? Then what? Do we try to get on RSR or do we pull a FP for that and ride other stuff? Sorry if this was answered somewhere, I started looking for a tread on the subject and got caught up looking at food porn pictures for hours.
Please, any help with a plan would be appreciated.

We did the main gate entrance and came from PPH. Did not take too long to walk through GCH then DTD to the gates of CA. Once gate open it was a mad rush to Carsland then to RSR. Rode RSR & done by 7:40 am!

The family will go, I just have to get my strength back. The summer is charging by. I love to ride BTMRR at night during the fire works, so cool.

This summer is zipping by and I'm feeling very unprepared for our trip! Kids and I did make mini-Tigger Tails yesterday to help get us in the mood .
