We'll be there from August 15th through August 23rd - first 5 nights at AKV & last 3 nights at BLT!!

We will be tagging along 2 extra kids, this is my dd's sweet 16 celebration instead of a huge country club type party she picked
a smaller backyard party (a few close friends/relatives) and a week in dw and with dvc points this works out cheaper than a full blown woohoo:

If you see a family of four, with the youngest (9yob) whining about being too tired to walk, a 16yob walking and texting on his blackberry, and Mom and Dad holding 2 tall drinks...that us!!!!

We did our first summer trip in Aug. 2007. We arrived on the 15th or 16th for 8 nights. WE LOVED IT. Sure it was hot....but we left the parks after lunch and then hit the pool or just hung out in the villa til evening time. We loved that trip. We went mid July last year for 2 weeks and LOVED IT TOO. This year we are going for 9 nights on July 21st. I loved Aug. because the crowds weren't bad but even in July last year.....it wasn't too bad.

Do you really think you're going to escape Red Sox fans at WDW ?? We always pack our Red Sox gear - we'll be out by the pool in our Sox attire!
We always comment at how many people we see walking around wearing Red Sox stuff . In fact, we just bought tix today to a game at Fenway the week before we leave for WDW!

Looks like the Northeast/New England will be well represented at Jambo House in August.

We've also gone in August before (2006 to Universal/SW and 2007 to WDW) and the heat didn't bother us - and I usually hate the heat. It's nothing a dip in the pool and a "tall drink" can't cure ! The crowds seem to thin out in late August which is a plus.

this will be our 4th year in a row going to dw in august, yes its HOT but you must get into the parks as early as you can stay til lunch, take a break, swim, or nap then hit the parks in the early evening... it is doable. normally we go to dw the last week in August for free dining but now since we have the dvc
no more free dining for us but we are planning a whole new venture with disney now with our dvc
