Which theater production has child volunteers as the dwarfs?

I will be on the Wonder in a few weeks, wondering which show it is where they ask kids out of the audience to volunteer and also if there is a better place to sit to possibly get asked? I know it's totally luck of the draw but wanted to increase by odds as much as possible. This would make my DD-6 beyond happy.

The show is Golden Mickeys. Can't help with the other questions. Good luck and have fun!

Ds15 & I are pretty sure it's the Golden Mickeys. I never noticed them taking kids from the audience. Maybe I'm just oblivious. I always assumed they were chosen while in the club. I would ask when your child first goes there.

I think the pick the kids as they are approaching the WDT for the show.

I used to play the unlikely host of The Golden Mickeys back when I worked for DCL. :) It is COMPLETELY random and is not influenced by seating. But it's a super fun piece of Magic, good luck!!

Whenever the kids have been approached about doing this we have been sitting on the aisle near the front of the theater. One time DS wanted to do this and he approached a CM who was standing near the front row and simply asked. We get there when the doors open for the show. If you go to the matinee it isn't as busy also.

Lisa, don't the children need to be wearing certain shoes also? Like ones with a back strap or something?

Their shoes have nothing to do with it. At the matinee one year DD had white sandals one time and DS had his crocs.

BTW, there is a family of four chosen for the last show on the Fantasy, possibly two. The CM asked my kids how many people were in their family when they were walking by. When they said four the CM asked if we would all participate, and the kids deferred to me. I opted out since DH wouldn't have appreciated me volunteering him to go up on stage -- though the kids both thought it would have been a good idea.

While on the wonder last month, we saw the meeting spot was at the front row of the left side seating area. though they were pulling kids from the whole theatre. This was about 15 minutes to show, just when the doors open.

We were also towards the front, near the aisle on the left (if you are facing the stage). It was our first cruise so we were completely unsuspecting. So fun! Good luck!

This is where the kids sit while waiting for their part. They are then escorted behind the door to that side to get in costume.

My kids were chosen last year and we were sitting where the break in the theatre is in the right side. We were there when the doors opened also so that might be the most important thing. Good luck my kids still talk about it!

My daughter and nephew were picked on our first DCL cruise, we were last in line to get pics with Goofy, and they asked them to be in it. It was the cutest thing. :)

Interesting. Seems like a hard role to play, with all the nervous laughter that could come across a bit cheesey. I thought that part was cute (typical cinderella story) but I mostly enjoyed the incredibly elaborate musical sequences especially with Ariel doing flips in the air, ahem Tarzan...yowza, awesome Lion King and even Rapunzel & Mulan. Seeing Pocahontas on 3rd night finished my character list. We almost skipped the show! We ran in to my husband and he said "You better go get ready, there are princesses on tonight!" and he was right!

That production was so great to us (new DCruisers) that Twinkie leaned over about half way through and said "We better start planning the next one"... and we had been on the ship for about 3 hours!)

I have less happy comments about Villains (cuz I don't like ghosty stuff) but you have probably already seen those.

Neat to see some of the talent on here. I fulfilled a life long dream of getting to sing Disney songs for Disney entertainment staff each night they had Family karaoke! Half way decent Pocahontas and mermaids if I do say so myself! (a highlight of the trip!)

Tangled hadn't been made yet back when it was me, haha... I hope I get to see it live before they retire it, I'd love to see the new additions! I also haven't seen Villains yet, but I will in October! Along with two other shows I used to be in, if the current info stays current. I can't wait! 2006 feels like yesterday. *sigh*

I'll happily see GMs at least one more time before then hopefully! I liked it A LOT. We are going to (hopefully, please call me back CVP to finalize my reservation) be on the Magic in the spring. I assume (but perhaps incorrectly) that GMs will be on it too, right? Along with some new ones have haven't seen? I liked it more than Believe, which was ok, and Hades was quite hilarious, but GMs was Disney perfection to me!

have you got one booked, even a 3 day, so you can see some of them?

I've got the first post dry-dock cruise booked on the Magic October 20th. Concierge told me that they have Villains Tonight, Twice Charmed, and Disney Dreams booked. I wasn't wild about any of the teen-themed productions we saw on the Fantasy last fall, I have no idea what they were thinking. I'm excited for all three this time around! Although bummed to miss GMs. There's no formal night on our 5-night cruise, however, so I guess it makes sense. GMs is a red carpet production, after all. ;)

My boys were picked to be dwarfs in the Golden Mickeys this past April. This made the cruise even more special (if that's possible). We were sitting about 3/4 of the way up the theatre and Jilly (CM) came over and asked to speak to my boys. After whispering to them she explained she asked them to be dwarfs in the show and she would come back and get them. It was so precious to see them in their beards lol and on our last night magic moment certificates showed up in our stateroom for both of them. We laminated them when we got home ane they proudly show everyone they can :)
