Which resorts get booked to capacity the quickest?

In the summer months, we all know attendance at WDW is high and that the resorts are crowded too. Which resorts generally book the quickest? I'm wondering how far in advance I would need to book a moderate---POR, for July 2014. I must have a discount to go, so I have to wait for a discount before booking. Does anyone have any insight?

I would not think you would have any trouble for POR. PO FQ sells out fast because it is smaller. Depends upon if you need a certain room type or are flexible. We booked Dec. 30 on a promo for June and had no trouble getting a royal guest room.

As the pp said, you shouldn't have any trouble getting POR as POFQ sells out faster as it's a smaller resort. I was going to say to book now to make sure you get what you want, but since you want/need a discount, there's no sense in booking now as having a reservation already in place does not guarantee a discount can be applied later. With that said, I would be ready to book as soon as a discount is released (should there be one for your dates). Also, I would have 1 or 2 alternate room types in mind should the one you want not be available under the discount. Good luck.

I've never had a problem in summer or December--my plan is to book resort first thing, say 8 months in advance. You can then adjust your reservation with any discounts offered. Don't wait.

I booked a POR room June 14,2012 arriving on July 18, 2012. We got our ground floor mansions room (not Royal Room though) that we had requested.

I highly suggest a Disney travel specialist ..we used Small World..book as soon as they allow and the travel agent hunts for specials for you. They make sure their clients get discounts and call when it is released.

we always book at least seven or so months in advance..to get what we want and then watch for the AP rates or the resort discount rates...

It has worked for us usually every visit ..

I think do it now and that way you can get where you want and then adjust

I would not worry about POR. I booked our 12/30 to 1/3 stay in October on a whim! If I can get a room NYE week you should be good!
